Abstract

The research examines the process of improving students’ activities and students’ achievement on Economics by applying collaborated learning model between Mind Mapping and Teams Games Tournament (TGT). This study follows a classroom action research which conducted in SMAN 2 Batu in Indonesia for Tenth grade students in social studies. This research is carried out in  two cycles including four stages namely planning, observation, evaluation, and reflection.The data were gathered from several tests and direct observation. Further, the data were analyzed both qualitative and quantitative accordingly. The findings showed that the combination of mind mapping and teams games tournament (TGT) promotes better teaching and learning activities. Consequently, students are more likely understand the materials in the economic course comprehensively. Furthermore, the implementation of both learning models simultaneously affects to encourage students to be active and spirit to follow the lesson. Lastly, the amalgamation of mind mapping and teams games tournament (TGT) leads to greater students’ activities and students’ achievement.Keywords: Teams Games Tournament, Mind Mapping, Students’ Activity, Students’ Achievement

Abstract

This research aim was to (1) discover the appropriateness of student worksheet which is developed in observation activities; (2) analyze the concept understanding which is used to reach learning outcomes; (3) describe student activity; and (4) describe students’ and teacher’s response towards the observation activities. Type of research is applied research using one-shot case study. The result showed that the developed worksheet was appropriate to be used in field by score of 85, 71%. The classical learning outcomes was 91% and performed by 31 students. Student’s activities were categorized very well for each aspect by score 3,00. Teacher’s and students’ response towards the observation activities was also positive. Keywords- fungal wet-preserved media, observation, learning outcomes

Abstract

The building of Café Latte Madiun was formerly a vacant building that was converted to a café which had undergone many changes in terms of its very unique material used in its interior. This study aims to determine and describe the application of materials in terms of furniture and design elements. The qualitative research with descriptive analysis, showed the results at Café Latte Madiun where application of teak wood materials is very dominant, the teak wood used is teak wood waste because the texture and shape are very beautiful and is supported by the application of other materials to the design element.
