Abstract

Introduction: Honey is one of the human food ingredient produced by bees. Honey is a food that is special and has a high nutritional value. Honey contains many minerals, flavonoids and phenolic acids substance that serves as an antioxidant agent that can prevent kidney damage. A drink or a traditional medicine belonging to the liquor if it contains alcohol> 1%. Tuak is a typical alcoholic beverage from batak, made from coconut or palm stems taken the water and then mixed with raru. Objective: This research is to know the effectiveness of honey in renal function (urea and creatinine) white rat (Rattus norvegicus L.) Wistar male in induction palm wine. Methodology: The research used True Experiment method with "pretest-posttest with control group design" design Result: The results show that the P value for urea number is <0.05, and the P value for creatinine levels also showing <0.05. Conclusion: there is an effect of honey in renal function (urea and creatinine) white rat (Rattus norvegicus L.) Wistar male in induction palm wine (Tuak ).
