Abstract

Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menganalisa sikap sejumlah mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan internet sebagai media belajar mandiri selama masa pandemi. Responden yang diteliti merupakan mahasiswa aktif semester dua dari sebuah universitas swasta di Tangerang. Sebagaimana kajian sikap pada umumnya, penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui kecenderungan tindakan para mahasiswa tersebut dalam memanfaatkan media internet untuk mendukung kegiatan belajar mandirinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode campuran. Dengan metode ini, responden diberikan angket terlebih dahulu untuk dijawab dan dilanjutkan dengan kegiatan wawancara singkat pada responden yang ditunjuk secara acak. Pemilihan responden untuk diwawancara didasarkan pada keterkaitan dan pentingnya jawaban yang diberikan dalam mendukung temuan penelitian ini. Semua kegiatan dilakukan dengan mengikuti protokol menjaga jarak yang diterapkan oleh pemerintah. Oleh karena itu, penyebaran angket dilakukan melalui media google form yang dilanjutkan dengan sesi wawancara textual melalui media WA. Hasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada dasarnya para mahasiswa memiliki sikap negatif terhadap proses pembelajaran melalui internet. Walau mengganggap internet sebagai media yang penting, mereka cenderung menganggap bahwa proses belajar melalui internet dianggap lebih sulit daripada proses belajar biasa. Secara keseluruhan mahasiswa juga menganggap bahwa proses pembelajaran tatap muka lebih diminati karena dapat membantu mereka memahami materi-materi yang sifatnya lebih rumit. Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa peran dosen tidak dapat digantikan oleh media internet. Terlepas dari manfaat internet dalam memberikan sumber-sumber belajar yang cukup menarik, para mahasiswa tetap berkeyakinan bahwa peran dosen sangatlah penting dalam menunjang motivasi dan kepercayaan diri mereka. Tema-tema wawancara menegaskan bahwa mereka masih tetap bertanya pada dosen ketika mereka telah selesai menyelesaikan tugas, meminta konfirmasi tentang prosedur pengerjaan tugas, ataupun mengungkapkan permasalahan yang dihadapi seputar kegiatan belajar mandiri mereka. Abstract

Identifying motivational factors in every field is always important. Likewise, identifying the student’s motivation to learn English is important so that the teachers or the other relevant education stakeholders can take more specific action regarding their students’ motivation. Especially, since motivation is a driving force affecting human’s life, the attempt to analyze the factors affecting the students’ motivation is always important. The present study was conducted in a private telecommunication college. The research method employed was a survey research with additional limited interview. The number of the participants recruited for the study was 40 students. The students recruited were the active students who are currently studying in their fourth/fifth semester. Of the whole factors questioned to the students, the lecturers were found to be the most significant factors affecting the students’ motivation. The other factors affecting the students’ motivation were the teaching media, such as internet and library. The finding also confirms the previous studies suggesting the important role of teachers/lecturers in serving the students. The students also indicated that the role of lecturers in facilitating their learning process, which was getting more complicated during the pandemic, as the most important factor leading to better motivation. Lastly, in terms of relationship, parents were found to be important as they could possibly support the students’ spirit to learn English regardless of their learning context. welfare of the people. As one of the most populous contries, Indonesia still faces serious problem in water management and good sanitation. Particularly, in big cities, with the unequal spread of the residents and the soaring prices of the land, good sanitation is a classical problem, which remains unrevolvable until now.  This article constitutes a review that aims to highlight the role of praying facilities, which can possibly be used as an alternative facility to support the government program in providing clean water and good sanitation to the surrounding communities. The use of praying facilities in providing water and good sanitation will not only impact to the health and the economy of the surrounding socieites but also increase the role of the praying facilities as the pioneer of the social piety, which is useful to help solve the nation’s problem, particularly in helping the people to fulfill their basic needs

Abstract

he study analyzed the concept of feminism based on the readers’ perceptions, who are the active literature students. The study was conducted in mixed method in order to allow the researchers to employ more instruments and eliciting more varied data. There were 20 students of the literature students, who were recruited purposefully. These students were the ones, who have completed the novel in their previous semester. The findings indicated that, despite being viewed as an interesting novel, most of the participants tended to perceive that the main character’s behavior was not always morally acceptable. In fact, the action in committing adulterous relationship with her illegal partner was considered immoral. Despite supporting the action of the main character in pursuing happiness as the main objective of marriage and partially accepting divorce as one of the potential solutions, most of the participants perceived that adultery is not an acceptable way to solve the problem. The participants also considered that dialogue between the couple should be done so that they could solve their problem amicably. In sum, most of the participants agreed that feminism is important as it can provide the women with the chance to stand on a par with the other counterparts. However, they believe that feminism will never endorse such betrayal in the name of equality of women’s right.

Secara keseluruhan mahasiswa juga menganggap bahwa proses pembelajaran tatap muka lebih diminati karena dapat membantu mereka memahami materi-materi yang sifatnya lebih rumit. Temuan juga menunjukkan bahwa peran dosen tidak dapat digantikan oleh media internet. Terlepas dari manfaat internet dalam memberikan sumber-sumber belajar yang cukup menarik, para mahasiswa tetap berkeyakinan bahwa peran dosen sangatlah penting dalam menunjang motivasi dan kepercayaan diri mereka. Tema-tema wawancara menegaskan bahwa mereka masih tetap bertanya pada dosen ketika mereka telah selesai menyelesaikan tugas, meminta konfirmasi tentang prosedur pengerjaan tugas, ataupun mengungkapkan permasalahan yang dihadapi seputar kegiatan belajar mandiri mereka.
