Abstract

The teacher is not only used verbal communication but also used nonverbal communication, this article aims to investigate the teacher use nonverbal communication in teaching learning process and the teachers’ nonverbal communication effect on the classroom atmosphere at SMP Negeri 2 Robatal Sampang. The subjects of the study are the teacher and the students. The instruments used to get the data were observation, interview and documentation. The results of the shows that the teachers’ nonverbal used in teaching learning process are hands, space and distance, touching and chronemics. Beside that the effect of nonverbal communication used were helping students understanding and accompanying to verbal message. Helping students understanding more easily to a students to receive the material that’s explains by the teacher. Accompanying to verbal message is a student’s more easily understand to get the point of teachers’ explanation in teaching learning process..

Abstract

Abstract: Speaking is complex skill that express the ideas, opinions, desires, our feelings freely, structured and spontaneously that aim give or get information and knowledge from other people. The speaking process base on experiences that can be obtained through discussion, reading, observation, and listening. All the students want to speak English fluently; therefore students must learn to boost their speaking skills. Talking about speaking boosting, the boosting is divided into several aspects ranging from boosting pronunciation, comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary. It can be used as a measurement our speaking is good or not. Almost all students have method to boosting English speaking skill namely online game. The students was familiar with gadgets rarely have online games, not only one but more online games on one gadget. This researcher have research the student of English department in academic year 2017-2020 with using interview method. The result of the study is can boost speaking skill but not effective to be Media learning in English program students Madura University. Abstrak: Berbicara adalah keterampilan kompleks yang mengungkapkan gagasan, pendapat, keinginan, perasaan kita secara bebas, terstruktur dan spontan yang bertujuan memberi atau mendapatkan informasi dan pengetahuan dari orang lain. Proses berbicara didasarkan pada pengalaman yang dapat diperoleh melalui diskusi, membaca, observasi, dan mendengarkan. Semua siswa ingin berbicara bahasa Inggris dengan lancar; oleh karena itu siswa harus belajar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara mereka. Berbicara tentang peningkatan berbicara, peningkatan dibagi menjadi beberapa aspek mulai dari peningkatan pengucapan, pemahaman, tata bahasa, dan kosa kata. Hal ini dapat digunakan sebagai ukuran baik atau tidaknya berbicara kita. Hampir semua siswa memiliki metode untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Inggris yaitu game online. Siswa yang akrab dengan gadget jarang memiliki game online, tidak hanya satu game online tetapi lebih pada satu gadget. Peneliti ini melakukan penelitian terhadap mahasiswa jurusan Bahasa Inggris tahun ajaran 2017-2020 dengan menggunakan metode wawancara. Hasil penelitian dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara tetapi tidak efektif menjadi media pembelajaran pada mahasiswa program studi Bahasa Inggris Universitas Madura.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on students' emotional intelligence in language acquisition. This is an experimental study that employs a quantitative method. In this study, students in higher education are treated as a subset of the population. The sampling size is determined using a random sampling approach. This study's subjects are 36 students. The paired t test approach is used to assess the data. The study's findings indicate that sig (p) is substantial. It is less than 0.05. (it is 0.000). The distinction can be deemed true. Before COVID 19, the mean was 59.30; after COVID 19, the mean was 49.33. It suggests that pupils prior to the COVID 19 pandemic had higher emotional intelligence in language acquisition than students after the epidemic. It implies that teachers and members of educational society in higher education are expected to provide students with a suitable environment in order to provide students with consequential input as well as provide students with interface in an attempt to maintain the regularity of experiencing English; additionally, it is suggested that members of scholar society are expected to provide significant input for the students. Keywords:  Effect, COVID 19, Emotion, Intelligence, Learning  Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak pandemi COVID 19 terhadap kecerdasan emosional siswa dalam pemerolehan bahasa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Dalam studi ini, mahasiswa di pendidikan tinggi diperlakukan sebagai bagian dari populasi. Sampel ditentukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan random sampling. Subyek penelitian ini berjumlah 36 siswa. Pendekatan uji t berpasangan digunakan untuk menilai data. Temuan studi menunjukkan bahwa sig (p) adalah substansial. Ini kurang dari 0,05. (ini adalah 0,000). Perbedaan itu bisa dianggap benar. Sebelum COVID 19, rata-ratanya adalah 59,30; setelah COVID 19, rata-ratanya adalah 49,33. Ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa sebelum pandemi COVID 19 memiliki kecerdasan emosional yang lebih tinggi dalam penguasaan bahasa daripada siswa setelah epidemi. Ini menyiratkan bahwa guru dan anggota masyarakat pendidikan di pendidikan tinggi diharapkan untuk menyediakan lingkungan yang cocok bagi siswa untuk memberikan siswa dengan masukan konsekuensial serta menyediakan antarmuka siswa dalam upaya untuk menjaga keteraturan mengalami bahasa Inggris; Selain itu, disarankan agar para civitas akademika dapat memberikan masukan yang signifikan bagi para mahasiswa. Kata kunci: Pengaruh, COVID 19, Emosi, Kecerdasan, Pembelajaran

Abstract

This study examines the work of informal environment in language learning. This study is an ex post facto research, employing quantitative approach. The students at English Department of Madura University are as parts of population in the current research. A sample is decided by using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data are analyzed by simple regression technique. The result of the study shows that the work of informal environment in language learning is not particularly high, 0.43 (43%). The informal environment operates on students’ proficiency level in English. It enriches the students’ input to communicate in English as well as makes the input of students becoming intake. It implies that the teachers and members of academic society should assist students with natural communication in order to meaningful input for the students.
