Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the capability of certified teachers of Islamic elementary school located in Pekalongan City in preparing lesson plan. Fourteen informants -- consist of 6 government teachers and 8 non-government teachers -- were investigated. The data were taken from the lesson plan documents prepared by them and then followed up with an interview. The results showed that: (1) there are many teachers who have not been able to develop their own learning devices, and (2) there are still very much in error that occurred in the lesson plan prepared by them. There are several constraints faced by them. They are: (1) their knowledge is still lack, their innovation and creativity were not maximized; (2) the pattern of development for them had not touched their academic aspect; (3) the orientation of the supervisions which only leaded to the administrative aspects; and (4) their independence lack in preparing learning device, which is part of the curriculum.

Abstract

The existence and contribution of Islamic boarding school (pesantren) for Indonesian people is significance enough. Pesantren is an educational and community development institution. Its existence in Pekalongan, however, is in serious condition. Today, its development is less maximal, the increase of student amount is not significance, the Islamic classical book study does not improve, and the institution is stagnant, i.e. as a religious learning place only. There are some pesantrens that their student amount become more in a little calculation every years, and even their students are off, and only few pesantrens develop bigger. This research describes that condition and government take a strategic initiative to reinforce their existence and vitality

Abstract

Abstrak: Tahun 2011 ini pemerintah mencanangkan pendidikankarakter bagi dunia pendidikan, mulai tingkat dasar, menengah hinggaperguruan tinggi. Salah satu dasar fundamentalnya, saat ini masalahbesar dalam dunia pendidikan adalah menipisnya bangunan karakteranak didik. Anak didik tumbuh dan berkembang secara mental, sosialdan intelektual, tetapi tercerabut dari akar budayanya sebagai bangsayang berkeadaban. Pengetahuan mereka makin luas, ilmunya makinmendalam, keterampilannya makin kreatif, tetapi ada masalah padamentalitas, nilai, dan moralitas. Pendidikan bukan saja menjadikanorang berubah secara kognisi dan psikomotorisnya, tetapi harusterintegrasi dengan bangunan nilai yang kuat.

Abstract

Di tengah gencarnya isu merger sekolah dasar karena kekurangan peserta didik, ternyata madrasah ibtidaiyah di Kabupaten Batang tidak kekurangan peserta didik bahkan terus bertambah baik dari sisi lembaga maupun peserta didiknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis pergeseran persepsi masyarakat Batang terhadapmadrasah ibtidaiyah. Data dikumpulkan dengan interview mendalam, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data dilakukan dengan triangulasi metode dan sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi masyarakat Batang terhadap madrasah ibtidaiyah cenderung bergeser ke arah yang positif. Mereka berpandangan bahwa Madrasah Ibtidaiyah bukan lagi sekolah kelas dua, tetapi sudah setara dengan sekolah dasar bahkan memiliki keunggulan khusus. Pergeseran persepsi terjadi karena adanya kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pendidikan agama bagi anak usia sekolah dasar; meningkatnya kualitas madrasah ibtidaiyah; adanya kesempatan yang sama antara lulusan madrasah ibtidaiyah dengan lulusan sekolah dasar untuk melanjutkan sekolah; dan adanya harapan orangtua agar anaknya berakhlak dan mengamalkan ajaran agama sejak kecil.
