Abstract

The aims of this research is to know the activity of liquid smoke Hevea braziliensis  Seed Shell as antibacterial of Staphylacoccus aureus. The synthesis of  liquid smoke on this research through some process such as pyrolysis, sedimentation, filtration, distillation and redistillation. H.braziliensis Seed Shell liquid smoke  obtained phenol levels 0.84% and pH  2.548. Antibacterial activity tested by hollow difusion methode with variations concentration of liquid smoke .at 5%, , 10 , 25 , 50, 75, and 100 % v/v. The effective concentration H.braziliensis  liquid smoke in inhibiting the growth of S. aureus bacteria is 75% v/v with strong antibacterial level that showed by an inhibition zone at 10,6 mm. On this research One Way ANOVA test showing the Fcount   ? F table, which means there is a significant difference between the diameter of the inhibition zone on various concentrations of H.braziliensis seed shell.iquid smoke..

Abstract

This perpose of this research was to know the isotherm, kinetics and thermodynamics adsorption of synthetic  dye onto activated carcoal from palm oil shell. The synthetic dye were Reactive Red and Direct Blue. The model of isotherm were Langmuir and Freundlich, kinetics adsorption tested were Pseudo orde-1 and Pseudo orde-2, and also thermodynamics were free energy change (?Go), enthalpy change (?Ho), and entropy change (?So). The dominant isotherm adsorption was isotherm Freundlich, kinetic adsorption Pseudo 2 th order  with the value (?So), (?Go) and (?Ho), Reactive Red were 0,0028 Kj/mol.K , -3,93 Kj/mol, and -36,12 Kj/mol respectively. Whereas in direct blue were 0,0034 Kj/mol.K, -1,67 Kj/mol,and -30,16 Kj/mol respectively.

Abstract

The goal of this research was to make silver nanoparticles (NPP) with a cherry fruit extract bioreductor which was used for mercury metal analysis by using a digital image method. The process of making silver nanoparticles had done by a bottom up method involving a reduction reaction. The precursors used were 1 mM AgNO3 solution and as a bioreductor was an antioxidant compound which were in cherry fruit extract. Variation of the volume ratio between cherry fruit extract and 1 mM AgNO3 solution was 1: 3, 1: 4, 1: 5, 1: 6, and 1: 7 and the variation of contact time were 5, 15, 30, 45, 1, 2, 3 hours, and 1, 2, 7 days. The most optimum results of silver nanoparticles were synthesized with 1 : 4 volume ratio and 1 hour contact time. From the results of selectivity test, it was known that silver nanoparticles were made selective toward Hg and Fe metal. The sensitivity test toward Hg metal, it was known that NPP can detect mercury metal with the smallest concentration of 16,7  ppb.

Abstract

This research is a quantitative study that aims to find out misconceptions that occur in class X science students of SMAN 03 Bengkulu City on Stoichiometry material. The data obtained in this study were collected by means of a written test on an instrument that has been tested for validity, , reliability, difficulty index, and discriminatory power. The results of the analysis of the percentage of misconceptions that occur in the stoichiomeric material at SMAN 3 Bengkulu City are in the range of 0%-2,2%. Based on the literature, misconceptions with this number range are in the category of moderate misconceptions. The misconception with the smallest percentage value is in item number 2 with a percentage of 0,1%, namely in the sub-topic of Atomic Mass. The misconception with the most significant percentage figures occurs in questions number 9 and 10 or in the sub-chapter interconversion of moles and chemical calculations, which is 2,2%. Factors that cause misconceptions consist of internal factors caused by the students themselves, and external factors that cause environmental factors. These factors are wrong preconceptions or initial concepts, learning methods, student abilities, lack of interest and motivation to learn, wrong intuition, and inadequate books.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of feasibility and students responses to the scientific literacy-oriented chemistry e-module on chemical equilibrium material. This research is a development research that uses the ADDIE development model. The ADDIE development model consists of 5 stages, namely; Analysis (analysis), Design (design), Development (development), Implementation (implementation), and Evaluation (evaluation), but in this study is limited to the implementation stage. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, namely class XI MIPA 1 at SMA Negeri 3 Bengkulu Tengah, totaling 29 students. The research data were obtained from media expert validation questionnaires, material expert validation questionnaires, and student responses to the developed e-module. The feasibility level of the e-module based on media expert validation is 94.31% which states that the display in the e-module is feasible from the media aspect, material expert validation is 89.77% which states that the material in the e-module is feasible from the material aspect and science literacy orientation. The response of students to the e-module was 85.73% which stated that the students gave a very positive response to the developed e-module. This shows that the scientific literacy-oriented chemistry e-module on chemical equilibrium material is very suitable for use in the learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop a scientific literacy-based test instrument to measure students' scientific literacy at SMA Negeri 9 Bengkulu City in thermochemistry material. The development model used is the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects were classes XI MIPA 3 and XI MIPA 2 at SMA Negeri 9 Bengkulu City for the academic year 2022/2023 which were selected based on a purposive sampling technique with a population of 3 classes, which was then subjected to a homogeneity test so that a homogeneous class was obtained, namely class XI MIPA 2 for large scale test and XI MIPA 3 for small scale test. The research period starts from January to September 2022. The research data was obtained from interviews, expert validation sheets, empirical test analysis, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminating power, and analysis of students' scientific literacy levels. The number of instruments developed is 6 items in the form of essays. The research results were obtained using the Ministep application, so that the items developed were declared valid by the validator with a CVR (Content Validity Ratio) value of at least 0.78 for each question, and the CVI (Content Validity Text) value obtained was 0. 94 with very good category. The results of the empirical validity test were carried out on 15 students of class XI MIPA 3 and obtained 8 valid questions. The developed scientific literacy-based test instrument has a reliability value of 0.85 in the very good reliability category so that it can be used to measure students' scientific literacy level. The results of implementing the development of scientific literacy-based test instruments obtained 1 student who had a high level of scientific literacy, 2 students who had a moderate level of scientific literacy, and 23 students with a scientific literacy level at the nominal scientific Literacy level. The results of the development of scientific literacy-based test instruments have proven to be accurate and reliable so that they can be used to measure students' scientific literacy, especially in thermochemical material.
