Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of diabetes management education on self-care management of type II diabetes mellitus patients in the work area of the Kandis Public Health Center. The research design used in this study was quantitative with a pre-test design and a post-test approach with one group design. The results showed that there was a significant level of self-care management with a p-value of 0.000 using the paired sample t-test after receiving the Summary of Diabetes Self Care Activity (SDSCA) intervention through leaflets and flipcharts. In conclusion, there is an effect of diabetes management education on self-care management in type II diabetes mellitus patients in the Kandis Health Center Work Area, Merangin Regency. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between nurses' knowledge and the application of transcultural nursing in the Inpatient Room of Abdul Manap Hospital, Jambi City. This research method is an observational analytic study using a cross-sectional design. The results showed that of the 13 respondents who had good knowledge, 12 respondents (92.3%) had good transcultural, and of the 30 respondents who had poor knowledge, 22 respondents (73.3%) had poor transcultural. In conclusion, transcultural nursing is related to nurses' knowledge of therapeutic communication at the H.Abdul Manap Hospital, Jambi City. Keywords: Knowledge, Nurse, Transcultural Nursing

Abstract

This study aims to analyze factors related to public health promotion behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research method is observational analytic using a cross-sectional design. The results showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge 64.85, had a positive attitude 67.65, had a high motivation of 88.6%, had high family support 84.8%, and had good behavior of 75.2%. The chi-square test shows that health promotion behavior is related to knowledge (P-value 0.003), attitude (P-value 0.001), and family support (P-value 0.004), while motivation is not related (P-value 0.215). In conclusion, health promotion behavior in preventing the spread of COVID-19 is proven to be related to sound knowledge, positive attitudes, and high family support but not motivation. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of shiatsu massage and balance exercises in reducing the risk of falling in older people. This quasi-experimental study used a Pretest-Posttest Control Group design. The results showed that the condition of the do in the shiatsu massage group before the intervention had a high risk of 8 (47.05%), then decreased to 2 (29.41%) after the intervention. The pre-test conditions in the balancing exercise group showed a high risk of 5 (29.41%) and decreased to 1 (5.88%) after the intervention. This indicates that both interventions reduce the risk of falling in older people. Statistically, using the Paired t-test showed that the two interventions significantly reduced the risk of losing in the elderly p-value <0.05. In conclusion, the intervention of do in shiatsu massage and balance training reduces the risk of falling in older people. Keywords: Do In Shiatsu Massage, Elderly, Balance Exercise, Fall Risk
