Abstract

World Health Organization (WHO) works hard for facing this covid-19 pandemic. The whole world applied WHO suggestions in public health actions, such as social distancing to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, these protocols lead societies to feel isolated and lonely that increase stress and anxiety. Community service activities are one of the efforts that can be taken to empower family members to carry out simple therapy in reducing anxiety. This community service will focus on the mother who has a big influence on managing the family. This community service aimed to educate the mother’s group to help their family in improving knowledge and skill of emergency psychiatric prevention. This activity was divided into two main parts, a seminar about health education about Psychiatric Emergency and ran a workshop in the art therapy group. These community service results showed that health education can improve knowledge related to emergency psychiatric, and mothers could implement art drawing therapy as an effort of psychiatric emergency prevention. In conclusion, Art group therapy is recommended for the mother and her family to prevent the emergency psychiatric condition.

Abstract

Adolescents go through a transitional period with many changes both physiological and psychological. The changes that occur in adolescents cause anxiety in adolescents. Prolonged anxiety can lead to panic attacks and anxiety disorder. These problems greatly interfere with the mental development of adolescents and reduce youth productivity and achievement. One of the attempts to reduce anxiety is giving Anxiety First Aid (AFA), which is a series of help to deal with anxiety. The study aimed to identify the effect of Anxiety First Aid to anxiety score. Method: The study used quasi-experimental design which involved pre-posttest with control group. The study was conducted in Senior High School Al Islam 1 Surakarta on July-September 2020. The population was senior high school students in Senior High School Al Islam 1 Surakarta. Samples were selected with purposive sampling technique that met the inclusion criteria. Subjects were 60 respondents consisting of 30 in each group obtained by a simple random sampling technique. The measurement of anxiety in the adolescents was by using Taylor Manifest Anxiety Scale. An independent t-test performed the analysis. The result of the research showed that anxiety score decreased significantly in those two groups. In contrast, the treatment group’s decrease in anxiety indicates a higher decrease than the control group. Anxiety First Aid (AFA) is recommended to decrease anxiety in adolescent especially in senior high school students.

Abstract

Online gaming addiction is a world phenomena which take interest. There has been a significant increase in the number of empirical studies examining various aspects of problematic online gaming addiction. Online gaming addiction causes bad effect in the physical health, anxiety and sleeplessness. One of the attempt to reduce online gaming addiction is cognitive behavior therapy. The study aimed to identify the effect of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to online gaming addiction. The study used quasy experiment design without control group. The study used online gaming addiction questionnaire which was valid and reliable to measure students online gaming addiction. There were four sessions of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy were given to the respondents. The sample of the study were 30 students of senior high school who were taken by purposive sampling technique. The data were analized using paired t test. The study indicated that the mean score of online gaming addiction reduced after 4 sessions of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The mean score of online gaming addiction was 57,17 before intervention and 43,23 after intervention. The statictical analysis showed that there was significant effect of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy to reduce online gaming addiction. (p value < 0,05). The conclusion was Cognitive Behaviour Therapy can reduce online gaming addiction.
