Abstract

Local Own-source Revenue (PAD) optimization is the way how Local Government manages their regional finances as a form of implementing regional autonomy. Therefore, by understanding potential sectors to optimize their PAD, the Local Government will not depend on the Central Government funding, and they can improve their economy. Hence, this study aims to find the determinants of PAD in 34 provinces of Indonesia. This study used multilevel mixed-effect model by using panel data which is the combination of time series data (2015 – 2020) and cross section data (34 provinces). This study found that Labor, Government Spending, Domestic and Foreign Investment, Inflation, and RGDP (Regional Gross Domestic Product) simultaneously affect the PAD. The Labor Force, the Government Spending and RGDP partially had a positive effect on PAD, while the Domestic Investment, the Foreign Investment and Inflation partially did not affect PAD. This study also found that the Labor Force, the Government Spending, and the Inflation had different random effect in every province, while RGDP as the random effect parameter had same random effect in every province.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effect of applying digital economy in the framework for improving MSMEs’ strength and resilience in Salatiga City before and after the COVID-19 pandemic. This research used 134 samples representing all small and medium enterprises in Salatiga City. The data focused in this research related to the application of the digital economy by business actors in Salatiga City. The analytical techniques of this research included descriptive statistics and a multiple linear regression model estimated by ordinary least squares (OLS). The result of this research indicated that the application of the digital economy in the framework for improving MSMEs’ strength and resilience amidst the COVID-19 pandemic was not proven in this study. The variables of the digital economy and total length of business did not significantly affect the turnover of the MSME actors in Salatiga City. Meanwhile, the labor variable proved to have a positive and significant effect on the turnover of the MSME actors in Salatiga City. However, the service business sector has been shown to negatively and significantly impact the turnover of MSME actors. MSMEs engaged in the service business sector tended to have lower turnover than MSMEs engaged in the trade business sector.

Abstract

Poverty is still the focus of the Indonesian government. The Covid-19 pandemic has the potential to increase the number of poor people. Therefore, this study aims to examine the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and macroeconomic factors of inflation, economic growth and unemployment on poverty in 34 provinces in Indonesia. Using the Random Effect Model, we find that unemployment significantly affects poverty in Indonesia. while inflation and economic growth have no significant effect on poverty. In addition, this study proves that the provinces of Java and Bali, which are the areas with the highest number of Covid-19 exposures in Indonesia, have a higher poverty rate than other provinces. Therefore, vaccination is the right policy so that people can carry out normal activities and economic activities will resume running and people's incomes can incre

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country with a relatively stable economy, as can be seen in Indonesia’s real GDP per capita, which tends to increase before the Covid-19 pandemic. However, there is a disparity in economic growth between Java and outside Java. During the 2010-2020 period, Java’s economic growth reached 61.9%, while outside Java was only 48.5%. According to the Solow Model theory, three factors can influence economic growth: capital, labor, and technology. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of capital, labor, and technology on economic growth in Java. This research was conducted using two approaches, namely generalized least square (GLS) and mixed-effect regression model (MEM). Both methods show the same result that capital and labor have a significant positive effect on the real GRDP of the provinces in Java. In contrast, technology has an insignificant effect on the real GRDP of the provinces in Java. This study also found significant random effects among provinces in Java for the number of workers and capital, but not on technology.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the factors influencing the use of digital marketing by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and to examine the factors affecting the preference for digital marketing usage by MSMEs in the city of Salatiga. The research sample consists of 135 business units representing MSMEs in Salatiga. Data analysis techniques involve descriptive statistical analysis, qualitative analysis, binomial and multinomial logistic regression. The research findings provide evidence of the implementation of the UTAUT theory, particularly concerning performance expectations and facilitating conditions, significantly influencing the probability of digital marketing usage and the marketing of business products. Surprisingly, acceptance as part of performance expectations has a negative impact on digital marketing usage, especially on social media platforms. Furthermore, digital marketing proves to be of paramount importance for MSMEs looking to expand their businesses. Keywords: MSMEs; Digital Marketing; Covid-19; UTAUT Theory; Logistic Regression
