Abstract

Winged bean (Fabaceae) is a tropical crop that has high nutrient content, and almost all parts of the plant are edible. The research aimed to evaluate the growth and production of winged bean in an intercropping system with tomato. The study was conducted at the Cikabayan Experimental Field of Bogor Agricultural University, Bogor, Indonesia, in a randomized block design with three replications during the rainy season of December 2017 to June 2018. Winged beans were planted in high and low population densities and intercropped with three tomato genotypes, “Tora”, F70030081-12-16-3 and “Apel Belgia”. Monoculture winged bean was assigned as control. Tomatoes were planted between the rows of the winged beans in the intercropping treatment. The results showed that the growth of winged bean in monoculture and intercropping systems was not significantly different. The photosynthetic activity of winged bean at three to five weeks after planting remained high, indicating that the vegetative growth was optimal in both systems. Intercropping increased the winged bean number of pods per plant by 12.66-19.52% compared to monoculture, irrespective of population density. Therefore, winged bean could be considered as suitable to grow in intercropping systems.

Abstract

Abstrak Pertumbuhan penduduk dan alih fungsi lahan untuk kegiatan non pertanian menyebabkan semakin sempitnya lahan pertanian. Optimalisasi lahan pekarangan di perkotaan untuk budidaya tanaman dapat menjadi solusi menunjang pangan keluarga melalui sisitim vertikultur. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Kelurahan Welai Timur pada tanggal 21 Oktober 2020 dengan tujuan membekali masayarakat agar dapat memanfatkan pekarangan rumah untuk budidaya tanaman melalui sistem vertikultur. Tahapan pelaksanan kegiatan adalah koordinasi dengan Pemerintah Keluarahan dan Masyarakat, pelaksanaan penyuluhan, pembuatan kompos dan vertikultur, pemberian media tanam, penanaman, dan pendampingan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode diskusi dan pelatihan. Peserta yang terlibat sebanyak 20 orang pemuda terpilih. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan yaitu penyuluhan, pembuatan pupuk kompos dan pembuatan media vertikultur. Respon peserta menunjukan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan sangat bermanfaat dan menyenangkan.

Abstract

Sustainable agricultural development is highly dependent on the role of human resources. The results of the 2013 agricultural census showed that the share of agricultural households for the group of young farmers aged <35 years was only 12.87%, much lower than middle age (35-54 years) 54.37% and elderly farmers (over 54 years) 32.76%. . For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research to determine the characteristics and factors driving young farmers' interest in farming and the research location is focused on Northeast Alor District, Alor Regency. The research was carried out for 4 months, namely April - July 2022 in Northeast Alor District in Kamot village, Air Mancur village and Nailang village in 60 respondents using a questionnaire. The results showed that the average age of young farmers in Northeast Alor sub-district was 30.2 years, interest in farming emerged from university graduates, youth awareness to use their own land for agriculture, even with limited land and costs. In addition, the interest of youth in Northeast Alor sub-district to do horticulture farming is in the moderate category. Thus it is necessary to increase youth interest (Y) in horticultural farming by increasing external factors (X2) and motivation (X3). Abstract

The coffee plant is a national leading commodity in the plantation sub-sector. Alor Regency as an area with a dry climate, has great potential for the development of coffee plants in East Nusa Tenggara Province. The total area of ​​coffee plantations in 2022 in this area will reach 2118 ha with a bean production of 302.2 tons/year. The research was carried out in Maleipea Village, Alor Selatan District from March to May 2022. The sample was determined using the Slovin formula. The processed data comes from direct interviews with farmers and through publications from the Central Bureau of Statistics and the Food and Agriculture Office of Alor Regency. This study aims to analyze the community's income and the feasibility of coffee farming in Malaipea Village. The characteristics of the respondents observed in this study were age, gender, education level, length of business, and land area. The results showed that the income of coffee farming in Malaipea Village was Rp. 1,658,324 with an R/C value of ˃ 1, which is 17.79, so coffee farming in Maleipea Village is feasible.

Abstract

Pupuk organik merupakan pupuk yang berasal dari berbagai bahan pembuat pupuk alami seperti kotoran  hewan,  bagian  tubuh  hewan,  tumbuhan,  yang  kaya  akan  mineral  serta  baik  untuk pemanfaatan  penyuburan  tanah Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mengedukasi masyarakat cara memanfaatkan sampah organik menjadi POC. Pelatihan pembuatan POC dilaksanakan dalam 1 hari, yaitu 14 Agustus 2023 di lahan pertanian GMIT Ayalon Labapui. disimpulkan bahwa dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan pemanfaatan sampah organik menjadi POC (Pupuk Organik Cair) Metode menunjukan hasil yang baik dan memuaskan dimana peserta sangat antusias untuk mengikuti pelatihan.

Abstract

Perubahan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang sangat cepat juga berdampak dalam bidang pendidikan. Microsoft excel dapat digunakan untuk membantu menyelesaikan berbagai kebutuhan administrasi pendidikan seperti pembuatan rapor, merekap nilai dan daftar hadir, presentasi materi pembelajaran, laporan kerja dan surat menyurat. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dalaksanakan pada tanggal 20-21 Januari 2023 di PAUD KOBER Alimmebung dan diikuti oleh 5 orang guru. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini yaitu; ceramah, diskusi dan praktek. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dalam dua sesi yaitu sesi pemberian materi tentang seluk beluk Microsoft Excel dan praktek penggunaan Microsoft Excel dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar maupun penyelesaian administrasi pendidikan. Setelah penyampaian materi, dilakukan evaluasi terhadap pelaksanaan pelatihan menggunakan daftar pertanyaan berupa qusioner oleh peserta pelatihan. Kegiatan ini memberikan nilai kemanfaatan yang sangat besar dalam mengoperasikan microsoft excel dan berharap agar dapat diadakan kembali pelatihan seperti ini diwaktu yang akan datang. Hasil evaluasi terlihat semua komponen yang ditanyakan mendapat respon yang sangat baik dari peserta (100%).
