Abstract

This study discusses the legal protection of consumer personal data in e-commerce transactions and the regulation of consumer personal data in e-commerce transactions. The method used in this research is normative legal research with a statute approach and a conceptual approach. The results show that the protection of personal data as part of privacy is a human right. This recognition is reflected in both the constitution and various regulations at the level of laws. However, no specific regulations are governing the protection of personal data at the statutory level. In Indonesia, there are no regulations on personal data in e-commerce transactions. This problem is only regulated in Article 26 of the ITE Law and several other articles. Legal protection for consumers in e-commerce transactions is needed to facilitate online consumer transactions. The goal is to enforce all transactions in the same way regardless of the medium selected. DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/abdimas.v2i1.1288
