Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effect of fogging using kesambi wood(Schleichera Oleosa) compared to coconut shells (Cocos Nucifera) in pork on TPC, organolepticsand early decay. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with fourtreatments with a total of six replications. The treatments applied were P1 fogging for 30 minutesusing wood kesambi (Scheleichera Oleosa), P2 fogging for 30 minutes using coconut shells (CocosNicifera), P3 fogging for 45 minutes using kesambi wood (Scheleichera Oleosa), P4 fogging for 45minutes using coconut shells (Cocos Nicifera), P3 fogging for 45 minutes using wood cage(Scheleichera Oleosa), P4 fogging for 45 minutes using coconut shells (Cocos Nicifera), P3 foggingfor 45 minutes using wood cage (Scheleichera Oleosa), P4 fogging for 45 minutes using coconutshells (Cocos Nicifera), P3 fogging for 45 minutes using wood cage (Scheleichera Oleosa) coconut(Cocos Nucifera). The results of the analysis of total plate count (TPC) showed that there was noreal difference. The results of the color and taste organleptic analysis showed that there was nosignificant difference between P1, P2, P3 and P4 where P ˃ 0.05, while the texture and aroma testshowed significant changes between P1, P2, P3 and P4 where P ˂ 0.05. In the initial decay testshowed that p1 had the lowest positive results of the initial decay test that is 1 positive sample froma total of 6 samples.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the influence of onion extract cream (Allium cepa) for burning burns in white rats (Rattus norvegicus). The research was experimental with a concentration of 45%, 50%, and 55% onion Cream Extract (Allium cepa). The Data can then be processed using the Kruskall Wallis test. From the statistical test results, each level of Bakart wound showed noticeable difference. The P < 0.05 is thus distinct from P1, P2, and P3. At the level of fluid burns Sig 0.000, because (P < 0.05) There were noticeable difference in the treatment of PO with P1, P2, and P3. The conclusion of this study of the introduction of onion extract Cream (Allium cepa.) can be used for wound healing in white rats (Rattus norvegicus).

Abstract

Slaughtering of sacrificial animals is a worship activity for slaughtering ruminant livestock which is carried out on Eid al-Adha and carried out in mosques or outside Slaughterhouses (RPH). The limited facilities affect the welfare of the animals so that it affects the quality of the meat. Supervision in the production chain with antemortem and postmortem inspections is carried out to obtain good quality meat. This community service aims to help the community get a guarantee of safe, healthy, whole and halal, sacrificial animal meat with antemortem and postmortem examinations, as well as holding counseling on the handling of sacrificial animals and meat during the covid-19 pandemic through webinars. The activity was carried out in 13 mosques in the areas of Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Gresik, and Pasuruan. The antemortem examination will be held on 19-22 July 2021 followed by a post-mortem examination which will be held on 20-22 July 2021 with a total number of 112 cows, 220 goats and 1 sheep. The Webinar was held earlier, namely on July 14, 2021, by 3 competent speakers. The webinar was attended by the general public, mosque takmir, lecturers, and students. The results of the antemortem examination indicated that the animals were suitable for slaughter, although 2–6 (0.6–1.8%) animals showed diarrhea, nasal and eye discharge, and infection of the prepuce. The results of postmortem examination stated that the animals were fit for consumption with a note that the organs infected with worms had to be removed, namely 15.2% of the liver of cattle and 0.9% of the liver of goats with fasciolosis, 0.5% of goats experiencing parampistomiasis and 1.7% of cattle experiencing eurytrematosis.

Abstract

Leptospirosis is an eminent diseases among human and animal health. As a zoonosis disease, the occurrence of leptospirosis is not clearly understood in animal. Furthermore, the lesion caused by Leptospira sp. is not well demonstrated. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between the result of serological test using microscopic agglutination test (MAT) and the representation of histopathological lesion in kidney from the cattle. This study used 28 samples consist of cattle serum and kidney organs. The serum was tested using MAT and kidney was tested using histopathology. The data was reported semi quantitatively and tested using Spearman test. The result showed that there is no correlation between the result of serological test to the representation of histopathological lesion from the kidney of cattle. It is supported by the coefficient correlation (0,05) and probability value p=0,78 (p≥0,05). In conclusion, the result of Leptospira sp. serological test either seropositive or seronegative uncorrelated to the representation of histopathological lesion from the cattle kidney.

Abstract

Wound is a pathological processes in all living things. Wound includes the overlapping mechanisms. The failure in wound healing causes infection. This study aimed to analyze the efficacy of Aloe vera gel in excisionwound on the rat’s back. This study used 18 male, Sprague Dawley rats, and they were induced excision wound on the back. The rats were separated into 3 groups, K1 = control, K2 = treated with betadin gel, K3 = treated with Aloe vera gel. The therapy was given twice a day for 7 days. The wound measurement was observed in day 3 and 7. The data were analyzed using SPSS. The result showed that Aloe vera gel potentially promote wound healing through the decrease microscopical condition of wound, re-epithelialization, and deposition of collagen better than in group K1 and K2 (p≤0.05). In conclusion, Aloe vera gel promote excision wound healing in Sprague Dawley rats.
