Abstract

The present research aims to know Stray cat health status in the Tegalsari sub-district market in Surabaya. This type of research is a descriptive study, experimental animals used were 30 stray cats on the market. Through examination of the liver function SGOT and SGPT. Blood serum Collection of Stray cat in three markets in central of Surabaya city, specifically in Tegalsari sub-district, namely the pasar kembang, pasar keputran selatan and pasar keputran utara, each market can take blood serum in 10 cats (Stray cat) as much as 3ml to test the value SGPT and SGOT, Data analysis using Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) the average value SGOT of Stray cat in pasar kembang 43.8+12.9 µ/l, pasar keputran selatan 79.0+ 50.3 µ/l and the pasar keputran utara 47.7+12.3 µ/l and average SGPT value on the Stray cat in the pasar kembang 98.0+48.7 µ/l, pasar keputran selatan 119.9+83.6 µ/l and pasar keputran utara 103,9+40.6 µ/l, especially the SGOT value can be significantly different (P<0.05) while the SGPT value is not significantly different (P>0.05). The value of SGOT and SGPT in pasar keputran selatan is higher compared to the pasar keputran utara and the pasar kembang.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the histopathological picture of the pancreas by induction of alloxan and extracts of the moon flower (tithonia diversifolia) in wistar rats (rattus norvegicus). A total of 24 male Wistar rats with 4 treatments were control P0, alloxan P1 with 1% CMC Na, P2 alloxan with 100mg / kgBB extract, alloxan P3 with 200mg / kgBB extract. Mice after said diabetes mellitus with a number> 135 mg / dL were then given treatment with 1% CMC Na on P1 and lunar leaf extract at P2 and P3, necropsy was carried out on the 15th day and the pancreatic organs were taken to be made in the form of preparations with coloring. HE, lesions observed Degeneration, Inflammatory Cells and Necrosis using a microscope, the results were analyzed using Kruskal wallis followed by Mann withney. The data obtained by degeneration in the kruskal wallis test were very significantly different because there were significant differences (P = 0.01), inflammation cells in the Kruskal wallis test were very significantly different because there were significant differences (P = 0.00), and for necrosis in the Kruskal wallis test significantly different because there are significant differences (0.02).

Abstract

The research aimed to know the degree of infection from egg calculated and increased numbers of white blood cells (eosinophils and lymphocytes) in wild cats (Felis catus). The samples of the research as many as 30 wild cats around the Around of Dukuh Kupang Surabaya . The examination was done by Mc Master method with 100x magnification and the calculated of white blood cells (eosinophil and lymphocytes). The results showed the degree of toxocariasis infection in wild cats (Felis catus) in Surabaya in Dukuh Kupang was seen from the average value of the 468.3 egg examination and the calculated of white blood cells (eosinophilic and lymphocytes) with an average value of eosinophilic 0.73 x103/μl and lymphocytes 10.72 x103/μl. This study used descriptive method. Toxocariasis infection was included in the degree of moderate infection in wild cats (Felis catus) in Dukuh Kupang Surabaya with moderate degree.

Abstract

Brucellosis (Keluron disease) is a strategic infectious disease with zoonotic potential, one of which is genus Brucella abortus. This research aims to detect Brucellosis in dairy cattle FH in Pagu District, Kediri Regency. This research uses two serological tests, namely the Rose Bengal Test (RBT) and the Complement Fixation Test (CFT) with descriptive analysis method. 30 cattle blood samples were taken from the coccigea vein. The blood was set aside at room temperature to form a serum. The serum that has been obtained is taken to the Department of Food and Livestock of Kediri Regency for checking the RBT. The remaining serum obtained was sent to BBVet Wates for CFT examination. The results obtained show negative results on both tests. But one of the samples with the code S9 had gone through an abortion. This might occur due to other factors such as genetic disorders, the presence of viruses such as BVD, toxic agents and live vaccines during pregnancy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of adding salt (NaCl) to ectoparasite Argulus sp. which infested goldfish (seedsCyprinus carpio) from the Gunung Sari Ornamental Fish Market, Surabaya. This research was carried out by taking samples from one of the ornamental fish cultivation sites in Surabaya with a total of 250 goldfish seeds. This study used 25 containers as research media with 10 goldfish seeds each. Each treatment was repeated five times, namely with the salt concentration P1 = 54 grams/liter, P2 = 108 grams/liter, P3 = 162 grams/liter, P4 = the negative group or the untreated group and P5 = positive control using methylene. blue 3 grams/liter. Ectoparasite examination Argulus sp.. conducted at the Parasitology Laboratory, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Wijaya Kusuma University, Surabaya. The completely randomized design method (CRD) was used in the study. The results were tested by ANOVA and a significant value of 5% (α 0.05). The test results showed that the treatment with methylene blue was not significantly different from the treatment of the three salt concentrations which had the same effectiveness. So the ANOVA test results show that all treatments are not significantly different.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the pH, water holding capacity and the Eber test or rot test on duck meat which taken in several traditional markets in Kediri Regency. The samples were taken as many as 30 samples from 3 different markets. From each market taken as many as 10 different samples in each market. The type of research is quantitative and descriptive using qualitative laboratory examinations. The results showed that for the pH test and water holding capacity there was no significant difference from the three markets, but in the Eber test that was carried out there were several positive and some negative samples. This is due to several factors that refer to the process of slaughtering animals, the type of animal, and the lack of sterilization of slaughterhouses and the lack of understanding for the community, therefore it is important to improve the quality of products that are safe, healthy, whole, halal.

Abstract

Ayam Kampung Jantan Super merupakan salah satu ternak penghasil daging yang cukup potensial untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat asal protein hewani. Penggunaan pakan ternak yang berkualitas merupakan salah satu faktor penting penentu keberhasilan peternakan. Pakan yang berkualitas itu sendiri terdiri dari beberapa komponen penting salah satunya adalah protein. Maggot atau larva dari lalat Black Soldier Fly (Hermatia illucens) merupakan salah satu pakan yang memenuhi persyaratan sumber protein. Protein terlibat dalam pembentukan jaringan tubuh dan terlibat aktif dalam metabolisme vital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengaruh penambahan tepung maggot atau Black Soldier Fly (Hermtia illucens) pada pakan komersil terhadap performans, kadar protein dan lemak daging ayam jantan kampung super. Sebanyak 24 ekor ayam kampung digunakan sebagai sampel dengan empat perlakuan. Komposisi pakan tiap perlakuan berbeda dengan P0 menggunakan 100% pakan komersil, P1 pakan komersil 90% dan tepung manggot 10%, P2 pakan komersil 80% dan tepung manggot 20%, P3 pakan komersil 70% dan tepung manggot 30%. Perlakuan selama 28 hari. Pemeriksaan hasil berupa data performans meliputi penghitungan berat badan dan konsumsi pakan, serta kadar protein dan lemak. Data hasil dianalisis melalui Analysis of Varian (ANOVA). Hasil penelitian didapatkan data adanya perbedaan yang nyata pada kelompok control dengan kelompok perlakuan pada tiap parameter perlakuan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan tepung manggot pada pakan komersil dapat meningkatkan performa ayam, meningkatkan kadar protein dan menurunkan kadar lemak pada daging ayam kampung jantan super. Abstract

The purpose of this research aimed to determine the antibacterial effectiveness of the methanolic extract of dragon scales leaves (Drymoglossum piloselloides) against MRSA (Methicilin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and Eschericia coli bacteria in vitro using the diffusion method. This research used a population of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Eschericia coli bacteria. The sample to be used is dragon scale leaf methanol extract. The method in this research used experimental with 6 treatments, namely dragon scale leaf methanol extract with concentrations of 45%, 55%, 65%, 75%, negative control (methanol) and positive control (chloramphenicol antibiotics). Data collection in this study was carried out by recording the diameter of the inhibition zone using a caliper (mm). The data obtained from the diameter of the inhibition zone of 75% extract variation resulted in an inhibition zone of 17.02 mm (in MRSA) and 8.47 mm (in E.coli). Chloramphenicol was found to be resistant to MRSA, but sensitive to E.coli. Data analysis used ANOVA test which statistically showed that there was a significant difference (P<0.05) in the diameter of the inhibition zone of the dragon scale leaf methanol extract against MRSA bacteria and there was a very significant difference (P<0.01) in the diameter Inhibition zone of dragon scale leaf methanol extract against Eschericia coli bacteria.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk mengetahui performan reproduksi sapi Peranakan Ongole dan sapi Peranakan Limousine yang diukur berdasarkan Service per Conception (S/C), Conception Rate (CR), dan Calving Interval ( CI) serta pelayanan Kesehatan hewan. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini diharapkan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan informasi, masukan, dan evaluasi bagi peternak dalam rangka peningkatan performan reproduksi sapi potong di Desa Bulu, Kecamatan Purwoasri Kabupaten Kediri. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa rataan nilai S/C sapi peranakan Ongole dan sapi peranakan limousin masing- masing 2,0 dan 3,1. Rataan nilai CR , untuk sapi peranakan Ongole dan sapi peranakan limousin masing-masing 65 % dan 60 %. Rataan nilai CI) sapi peranakan Ongole dan sapi peranakan limousin masing-masing dan 61% untuk rataan nilai lama kebuntingan sapi peranakan Ongole dan sapi peranakan limousin masing-masing 382,28 hari dan 406,02 hari. Kesimpulan dari Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat kepada peternak sapi di desa Bulu sangat bermanfaat dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan beternak sapi serta meningkatkan kesehatan ternak sapi dalam upaya peningkatan produktivitas baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitas.
