Abstract

This study aims to: (1) determine the differences in the ability to write non-fiction text between students who are taught using the Think Talk Write model and the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition learning model; (2) determine the differences in the ability to write non-fiction text between students who have high motivation and low motivation; (3) determine the interaction between learning models and learning motivation on the ability to write non-fiction text. This type of research is a Quasy Experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The data collection technique consisted of a test of the ability to write non-fiction texts and a learning motivation questionnaire. The prerequisite test for data analysis consisted of a normality test, a homogeneity test and a balance test. The data analysis technique was done by using Two Way Annova. The conclusions of this study: (1) there are differences in the students' abilities in writing non-fiction text which are taught using the Think, Talk, Write (TTW) and Cooperative Integrated Reading And Composition (CIRC) learning models (p = 0.000 <0.05); (2) there is a difference in the ability of students with high learning motivation and students with low reading interest in writing non-fiction texts (p = 0.000 <0.05); (c) there is an interaction between learning models and learning motivation on students' ability to write non-fiction text (p = 0.047 <0.05).

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe syntactic errors in the fields of phrases, clauses, and sentences. Describe the factors that cause syntactic errors in narrative essays for fifth grade students of SD Negeri Tegalayu Surakarta. This study uses a qualitative method. Methods of data collection is done by means of interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data using triangulation techniques and sources. Analysis of the data using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results of the research based on indicators in the phrase field contained errors, namely the use of regional languages, inappropriate prepositions, wrong wording, excessive elements, excessive superlative influences and the use of respiricals. The error of the clause is adding a preposition between the verb and the object. Sentence errors are unsubjected sentences, illogical sentences, ambiguous sentences, omission of conjunctions and the use of foreign terms. Internal and exte kurnal causes are lack of understanding of correct sentence structure, low reading interest, use of language in the surrounding environment. The implication of this research is that teachers must improve strategies to overcome syntax errors by explaining good and correct writing procedures according to syntax.Keywords: language error analysis, syntax, narrative essay

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the problematic forms of using Indonesian in narrative essays for fourth grade students at SDN Tegalayu Surakarta. The problems studied include (1) problematic language symptoms, (2) spelling and usage problems, (3) word form and meaning changes, (4) sentence problems. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The sampling technique used was representative research subjects, namely fourth grade students at SDN Tegalayu Surakarta. The data analyzed is a narrative essay of students. Data collection techniques using document analysis, interviews, and observations. Test the validity of the data using technical triangulation and source triangulation and refers to the KBBI and PUEBI. The data analysis technique used interactive analysis techniques. The most problems were spelling and usage problems of 36.16%, followed by problems of changing word forms and meanings 35.03%, sentence problems 15.25% and language symptoms problems of 13.56%. The main causes of problems are (1) lack of understanding of students' linguistic rules, (2) lack of mastery of students' vocabulary, (3) low motivation and interest of students, (4) student accuracy. So that teachers need to plan learning strategies that can reduce the problems of using Indonesian in students.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe, (1) forms of spelling errors, (2) forms of diction errors, (3) forms of effective sentence errors, (4) forms of paragraph errors, (5) the most dominant errors, and (6) the cause of the incorrect use of the rules. language in the description of fourth grade students at SDN Tegalayu Surakarta. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were fourth grade students and fourth grade teachers. Data collection techniques used document studies, in-depth interviews, and unstructured observations. The validity test technique used is triangulation of sources and techniques. The data analysis technique used is Miles and Huberman interactive analysis. The results of this study are as follows. There are 60,14% spelling errors, 22,22% diction errors, 10,45% effective sentence errors, and 7,19% paragraph errors. The most dominant error is spelling error. Factors causing language errors caused by students include: (1) low vocabulary, (2) lack of knowledge, and (3) lack of motivation. While the teacher factor is the selection of learning strategies that are lacking and limited time. So that, teachers should choose the right learning media, improve simple writing activities, and literacy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the forms of language use errors in the form of spelling, diction, and sentences and to determine the factors of language use errors in explanatory text compositions for fifth grade student at SDN Tegalayu Surakarta. The research is a qualitative research with a case study approach that focuces on a phenomenon.The data collection techniques used were document analysis, observation, and interviews. Test the validity of the data used data sources triangulation and technical triangulation. The data analysis technique used is interactive analysis. The most errors in language use were found in spelling errors with 80.37%, followed by diction errors 14.27%, and sentence errors 5.36%. Factors causing errors in the use of language come from two factors, factors from the teacher in the form of writing learning strategies that are too simple and not doing an analysis of essay errors and factors from students in the form of students lack of understanding of the rules of language use, lack of student vocabulary, and lack of motivation to write. So that teacher can provide many example of good essay before writing and repeated writing exercise.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to use sentences based on sentence structure on the skills of writing interview texts for fourth grade students of SD Negeri Tegalsari. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with reports on the results of student interviews. The sampling technique in this research is the research subject. Data collection techniques used interviews, documentation studies, and observation. Validity test data using source triangulation techniques and triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique uses imperative analysis which includes four stages, namely: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, (4) drawing conclusions. The percentage of errors in the use of subject indicators (19.23%), predicate indicators (13.46%), object indicators (8.65%), information indicators (45.2%), and complementary indicators (13.46%). The causes of errors in the use of sentences based on sentence structure in the reports of student interviews include: (1) lack of understanding of students on the selection and use of appropriate sentences, (2) lack of application of strategies in teaching sentence structure by teachers. The teacher's effort to overcome this is by giving exercises to students so that students are accustomed to communicating using standard language, both spoken and written.
