Abstract

Multicultural sufistical education not only discusses the positive character, but also the negative one and how to handle it. This can provide a new perspective of the character education in Indonesia. A student needs to be aware of what he must avoid and how to avoid it in addition to staying away from it as early as possible. What is important to note is that,  first, like worship, knowledge must also be with sincerity when studying it. Sincerity is a motive that makes knowledge meaningful. Second, knowledge is such an affiliation of worship. Third, learning dualism. Learning - in Sufistical education - is not only a process of finding knowledge. Character is only an attribute, and is not embedded in the soul. This kind of character education is unfilled with the spirit and goodness in the heart. So sufistical education - through the concept of psychology - provides a bridge to it. Character education should be littered with the process of penance in order to liven up the soul with awareness.

Abstract

Umar Baradja’s education concept of character has been adjusted to the concepts and objectives of national education. The result of the research on Umar Baradja’s thinking of character education is originated from Umar Baradja’s concept of interactions among social being. It was designed to prepare the next generation to be a virtuous, good, and noble human being. It was designed to able to be applied in all ages as well, from early childhood up to old age. Morals can be generated by the exercise and the struggle in the beginning, until it became a character. For example a person who wants to have a beautiful writing, the first time he had to force himself to imitate the beautiful writings, until the writing is his character. It is not strange to the man who was given by God a reason and understanding. Even, Similarly, it is not strange on wild animals, because their instinct can be transformed to be benign by exercises. It is evident that the dog can be taught to hunt and guard. Umar Baradja is a muslim leader from Surabaya. He was famous in his day until today. Alhamdulillah, his works still exist, taught in almost all pondok pesantrens (boarding schools). He offered education concept of character and by instilling and familiarizing a good behavior to Allah, His Prophet, and fellow human beings interact, and uphold the values ​​of brotherhood. Thus character education according to Umar Baradja’s as defined in this study are the concepts or moral message and the process of instilling to humans from themselves, to others, to God and even to inanimate objects. According to Umar Baradja people must try to get good behavior although at the beginning it seemed difficult that they will get used to the good behavior with constantly implementation.

Abstract

Pesantren is an islamic educational- institution that has the advantage of both aspects of scientific tradition and its transmission, as well as intensity of Muslims. Rise of globalization has threatened the existence of pesantren, so it causes the idea of ​​modernization in pesantren to address challenges of social transformation needs. To shape the direction of change in developing educational institutions, pesantren held their skills and enter the public schools into their environment. According to Gus Dur, pesantren should give an appreciation of all developments taking place in the present and future. However, in order to keep its traditions, pesantren should take on something new that is considered to be better and do not leave a long tradition. Entering the general sciences in pesantren’s environment has caused problems both among themselves and the public. The question is how exactly, epistemologically, explains the empirical sciences or secular sciences systematically into the pesantren’s tradition. According to Gus Dur, the idea to orient the contemporary pesantren may need to be reviewed because the idea will negatively affects the existence of the basic tasks of pesantren. In addition to strengthening the scientific tradition, pesantren should always open himself, accommodate the present problems, as well as providing enlightenment to the audience by giving the best solutions in resolving the problems of life. According to Gus Dur, boarding schools have relevance to the employment needs, for the world of work, both in services and trade with various needs expertise. Boarding schools must provide input for the education community about what skills are actually required by employment in the era of globalization such a rapid and diverse as it is today.

Abstract

leader is the central and determinant of the success of the goals of the organization or institution, the leader must have high morality and integrity. morality and integrity are urgent things not only for the success of leaders and institutions or organizations they lead but also an attitude of upholding human dignity and respect for human rights as basic human rights that must be respected and developed Leaders are required to have the ability to create situations conducive, safe and comfortable for his subordinates so that his subordinates can carry out their duties well and discipline and optimally. Based on this, the problems that will be examined in this study lead to: how is integrative leadership in improving and developing organizational effectiveness how is the integrative leadership model in an organization.
