Abstract

This paper presents for the first time the results of research related to the professional training of judges. The research method presented in this paper is a case study. Thirty-one judges, in the City and District Courts, were included to obtain various perspectives through interviews. The results of the study show that the influence of training can shape judicial interpretations of justice. We found that trainee judges studied the three most important forms of justice: legal justice, moral justice, and social justice. Judges will also learn from the training that judges will be asked to harmonize various dimensions of justice in the context of public service.

Abstract

Lebih dari dua ratus jenis penyakit ditularkan melalui makanan baik penyakit yang sifatnya jangka panjang atau jangka pendek, hal ini terutama karena adanya kontaminasi makanan oleh bahan kimia atau mikroorganisme. Sebagian besar penyakit keracunan pada makanan sebenarnya bisa dicegah dengan menjalankan prinsip keamanan pangan. Sementara itu baik di negara maju dan negara berkembang, keracunan makanan adalah masalah yang serius dan banyak dari kasus keracunan makanan tidak diketahui sumbernya ataupun datanya. Sebagian besar kasus terjadinya keracunan makanan adalah karena kesalahan dalam menangani makanan, dan tercatat sebanyak sekitar 97% dari penyakit akibat keracunan makanan adalah berasal dari penanganan makanan yang salah (Howes et al, 1996). Study tentang kasus keracunan makanan juga melaporkan bahwa penyebab lain keracunan makanan adalah bersumber dari penjamah makanan dan jumlah kasus keracunan, menunjukkan tidak ada indikasi penurunan sampai beberapa tahun terakhir (Greig et al., 2007).

Abstract

Artikel ini menyajikan persepsi para Hakim Indonesia dalam menjatuhkan hukuman terhadap pengguna narkotika. Hakim memegang peran sentral dalam proses hukuman, dan karena kebijaksanaan yudisial mereka dapat menggunakannya adalah penting untuk memahami bagaimana hakim sampai pada keputusan hukuman mereka. Untuk mengembangkan pemahaman tentang bagaimana hakim, memahami tindakan mereka dalam pengambilan keputusan kepada pengguna narkotika, sejumlah 31 peserta hakim diwawancarai. Data menunjukkan bahwa keadilan disajikan sebagai kondisional, tergantung pada berbagai faktor yang mempengaruhi yang terutama, meskipun tidak sepenuhnya, sebagai salah satu ketegangan dan kontradiksi. Faktor yang mempengaruhi putusan hakim salah satunya adalah politik dan aparat hukumnya.  Artikel ini berkontribusi pada persepsi para hakim yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor yuridis dan faktor sosiologis.

Abstract

This paper for the first time presents the results of research related to the aspects of empowerment of women involved in narcotic cases. The research methods presented in this paper are in the form of literature research and field research. Two countries, Scotland and Indonesia, were included to gain various perspectives through a literature review. The results of the field research show that the empowerment of women with narcotic cases is still based on a sense of social justice. This paper contributes to ensuring equality in empowerment for women.

Abstract

Purchasing raw foods materials that are used to make our product must be carefully controlled. Selecting and evaluating the right food supplier today has become much more critical and complex. Involving process of selecting the right supplier can help many food industries and restaurants meet or exceed regulatory standards, drive customer demand, and build a strong brand reputation of quality products. Quality and safety for ingredients, products, and packaging are mandatory requirements for every food business, so choosing a good supplier is a critical business decision. Consequently, the supply chain team has needed to identify choosing the right supplier, as well as several best practices in the food industry or restaurant. This paper’s objective is to frame working best practices on food supplier selection and, assessment as part of supply chain sustainability and food safety implementation. Establishing close working relationships with foods supplier and providing them with high standards also providing feedback on their performance would be part of effective supplier programs in food safety assessment. Some criteria that should be provided by our food supplier were considered as approved suppliers such as purchasing specification, quality system compliance, Regulatory compliance, and certificate of analysis. The study found that trust and communication are key elements in establishing strong working relationships with foods supplier. Working relationships with food suppliers have become a competitive advantage for Food Industries and Restaurants looking for long-term economic success. Trusted food suppliers were described as communicating effectively and demonstrating a willingness to work collaboratively. Foods suppliers who communicate directly and clearly are more effective in implementing Food Safety assessments.

Abstract

For the first time, this paper provides an insight into HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination in prisons. In doing so, this paper explores the manifestations and sociological explanations of HIV/AIDS-related stigma and discrimination against inmates at the community level and staff members at the institutional level. This paper contributes to the strengthening of HIV prevention and treatment policy. Thus, this paper would beneficial particularly in response to HIV/AIDS in Prison to the Ministry and Prison authorities.

The research implications are an important reference for understanding the complex dynamics of global market forces, focusing on the delicate balance between national policymaking and international trade commitments.
