Abstract

Blacktail Zebra fish (Dascyllus melanurus) is more caught the sea by fishermen. There are several limitations which are lower growth and feet effisincy trought the natural  habitat. Hence, an optimal feed combination is consideret  to be provided during fish rearing to increase their growth.  One of ideas was to use probiotic, which is bacteria that are able to decompose organic materials to change toxic compounds is valauable matter  to the environment. For instance, ammonia and nitrite can be converted into free ammonium. The additional in an artificial feed is exfected to gain aquaculture activities. The study was conducted for 56 days from August to October 2019 in Wetlab Kastela  FPK of Khairun University. Experiment  and four treatments were applied using Filling Randomized Design (RAL). The result shows that different additional probiotic effected the growth and survival rate of Blacktail zebra fish. The highest was found in probio7 15 ml/kg feed,  which gave 0,88g of total growth’; and the lowest was 0,27g which was found in the treatment A ((control)/ Water quality was checked  weekly and in normal condition for the growth of the growth of blacktail zebra fish.

Abstract

Abstract

The home industry for coconut jam and VCO in Moiso village does not yet have a PIRT number so that the marketing of these two products is still limited. This is because they do not have knowledge related to PIRT management. Assistance is needed from parties who understand this. In the management of PIRT, there are stages of food safety education. Food safety education was attended by the home industry coordinator and his team. In this counseling material was presented on food safety, food packaging and labeling, the application of CPPB and food processing technology. There are pre-test and post-test at the beginning and end of the activity to assess participants' mastery before and after being given food safety education. The results of the counseling show that home industries are entitled to PIRT with several improvements to level 1 or 2. Several things need to be improved, including improving the position of the production site so that it is not close to the WC, storage areas for materials and tools to be more organized, sources of clean water for more production guaranteed continuity. Moiso's home industry has received a Food Safety certificate from the West Halmahera Health Office.

Abstract

The research was carried out from April to December 2022 at the Integrated Laboratory at Khairun University. The research design consisted of 4 treatments that were tried, namely: Treatment A: Prawns were given 25% maggot flour + 25% prawn head flour, Treatment B: Prawns were given 20% maggot flour + 30% prawn head flour, Treatment C: Prawns were given 30% maggot flour + 20% shrimp head meal and Treatment D: Giant prawns were fed commercial feed (control). The research variables consisted of feed proximate test, feces test to determine feed digestibility of giant prawns, specific growth rate (LPS), absolute weight growth and survival rate. Based on the results of the feed proximate test showed that treatment D gave the best results by looking at the average feed protein content of 32.51%, the digestibility value was directly proportional to the feed protein value content in treatment D of 23.06%. The specific growth rate (LPS) during maintenance showed that treatment D gave the best treatment with an average growth yield of 0.684%, the best absolute growth was in treatment D with an average value of 0.120 gr. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that the results of the proximate test of the feed showed that treatment D gave the best results as seen from the average feed protein content of 32.51%, while the digestibility value was directly proportional to the feed protein content in treatment D with an average of 23, 06%.

Abstract

The purpose of the study is the development of traditional food in North Maluku by studying the physicochemical characteristics of ready-to-eat canned candle vegetables and optimizing processed products that are canned by meeting quality standards, especially nutritional information. The implementation method is the optimization and characterization of canned wax vegetables with 2 different varieties, namely orange sayur lilin (SLO). As a result that optimization on 2 varieties of canned sayur lilin did not have significant differences with physical properties in the color of each L* (65.90-66.03), a+ (45.23-48.43), and b+ (38.25-39.05). Chemical properties include total energy 53.06-54.12 kcal/100g, total fat 2.98-3.01%, protein 1.70-1.75%, carbohydrates 4.86-4.99%, water content 88.96-88.99% and ash content 1.50-1.62%. In conclusion that the traditional food canning of wax vegetables with two different varieties provides product quality information the product affected by the properties of the material that is easily mushy due to the presence of heat and also stirring makes the product easily destroyed, but does not damage the chemical components of the final product.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the effect and optimal dose on hatchability, hatching time and prevalence. The study was carried out in two stages, namely the manufacture of jatropha leaf simplicia dried using an oven at 70 oC for 5 minutes. Puree using a blender. Weighed according to the treatment, namely A 3 g/L, B 5 g/L, C 7 g/L and D 0 g/L. The next stage is spawning the broodstock, and selecting 2,400 eggs that have been successfully fertilized, each treatment with 200 eggs. Each treatment was soaked for 4 minutes. The eggs were transferred to a hatching container with a volume of 5 L of water. The experiment was conducted using an experimental method (CRD), the factor tested was the effectiveness of castor leaf extract with different doses on hatching time, hatchability and prevalence. The results of observations of hatching times have a different number of hatchings. Treatment 3g/L 5 grains, treatment 5g/L 3 grains, without soaking 1 grain with hatching time 30 hours after fertilization. The most eggs hatched at 42-54 hours in the 3g/L treatment 479 eggs and the lowest in the treatment without soaking 258 eggs. For treatment 5g/L 419 grains and treatment 7g/L 380 grains. The effectiveness of giving effect, prevalence and presentation of hatching eggs in the 3g/L treatment has a success rate of 5%, for hatching time of 30-52 hours, prevalence is 20.17% and percentage of hatching eggs is 79.83%.
