Abstract

Various fishing gears that are operated in the coral reef waters of Western Seram Regency have their own selectivity, capture various species of fish, and have an impact on the damage to coral reef ecosystems. This study aims to determine the leading reef fishing gears in Western Seram District. The survey method is through observations and interviews with fishermen who conduct fishing activities of coral species. Respondents are determined by propulsive sampling, the selection of superior fishing gear is done by the scoring method. The results showed that the fishing gear classified into the line fishing gear was superior to other fishing gear, where the bottom trolling were superior. The less favored coral fishing equipment especially from the biological aspect needs attention to improve the method and design of the fishing gear.

Abstract

Analisis kelayakan usaha dimaksudkan untuk memberikan informasi bagi para pengusaha atau pemangku kepentingan lain baiknya menginvestasikan uanganya pada usaha perikanan pukat cincin atau pada usaha lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mendiskripsikan dimensi teknis dan analisis kelayakan usaha perikanan pukat cincin (purse seine) di Dusun Seri Kota Ambon. Penelitian ini berlangsung dari bulan Mei-Juni 2019. Metode pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan wawancara. Analisis data secara deskritif, analisis biaya dan pendapatan serta analisis kelayakan usaha menggunaka NPV, NetB/C dan IRR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata ukuran panjang kapal adalah 16,1 m lebar 3,1 m dan tinggi 1,2 m. Rata-rata panjang jaring 244,8 m dan tinggi kantong 89 m. Mesin penggerak adalah mesin tempel as pendek dengan kekuatan 80-120 PK. Hasil tangkapan terbanyak terdapat pada bulan Maret dan terendah pada bulan Mei. Daerah penangkapan (fishing ground) di perairan Laut Banda dan Teluk Ambon Luar. Rata-rata keuntungan setiap unit kapal adalah Rp. 46.418.527/tahun. Investasi usaha pukat cincin di Dusun Seri layak dikembangkan karene memiliki nilai NPV positif, Net B/C lebih besar 1 dan nilai IRR lebih besar social discount rate
