Abstract

The study of the performance of the propeller using numerical methods and experiments have been conducted. The propeller is 3-dimensionally scanned to determine its geometry. The tools are Konica Minolta Vivid 9i 3D Scanner. The propeller geometry is generate and then performed CFD simulation. CFD simulation begins with the formation geometry. Propeller geometry has been obtained from scanning. Next is a mesh generation using ICEM CFD. Surface mesh of the component using all tri and volume mesh using tetra/mixed. Mesh generation method using patch dependent and quick delauny. Determination of physical properties and fluid properties and boundary conditions simulation performed on ANSYS CFX Pre. The boundary conditions used are variations in the flow rate at 8 m/s, 9 m/s, 11 m/s, 12 m/s, 13 m/s and 14 m/s and also for the rotation speed of the blades 4000 RPM and 5000 RPM. Propeller Experiments conducted on a closed loop wind tunnel. Propeller rotated by an electric motor connected to two load cell used to measure the thrust and torque. Rotational speed is measured using an optical tachometer, while the undisturbed air speed is measured using a pitot tube. The sensors are connected to the data acquisition and connected to a computer to get results. Rotational speed propeller arranged on a rotational speed of 4000 RPM and 5000 RPM. Undisturbed air flow velocity varied 8 m/s to 12 m/s.

Abstract

Fire is a disaster that caused by undesireble fire also could cause a big loss both of property or human life as well. therefore, the prevention system of fire is the most important thing. In the simulator building of Indonesia Civil Aviation Institute, there is only a hydrant pillar pipe that has no water supply, fire pump and sprinkler as the first prevention of fire hazard. therefore this issue is in the analysis The calculation analysis is done by determining the location of sprinkler, calculating the capacity of the water , and determining the power of the pump with counting the total of head loss on that pump. Refering to SNI 03-3989-2000, SNI 03- 1457-2000, related articles, last finally project and theories on plumbing system also using ANSYS 16.0 for helping the counting analysis. The result of calculation analysis is location of sprinkler, water volume and pump force to instalation hydrant and sprinkler for prevention hazard.

Abstract

This training activity was motivated by the low number and competence of teachers in the productive field of aviation vocational high schools. Government data for 2019 shows that the majority of teaching staff postures are still dominated by the category of adaptive normative fields or general teachers, while productive teachers who teach subject matter according to their fields of expertise are still low, at a percentage below 35%. The aim of the training is to introduce the basic technique of overhauling opposed type aircraft piston engines for teachers of Aviation Vocational Schools. As a form of community service responsibility, lecturers provide training in the form of a basic introduction to piston engine overhaul so that productive teachers can have an understanding and skill in piston engine maintenance using standard tools. With the location of the activity at SMKN 12 Bandung which has a major in Airframe and Powerplant. The method of this activity begins with briefing on the concept of overhaul, introduction to the use of standard tools, regulations and how to read manuals and other manufacturing technical publications. After the participants have basic mastery of the concept, the activity continues with the introduction of piston engine parts and top end overhaul training in accordance with the training objectives. As a result of this training, teachers already have the understanding and overhaul skills of aircraft piston engines that are in accordance with the manufacture manual so that they can improve the teaching quality of productive fields.

Abstract

Unmanned flight has been a part of everyday life. According to BI Intelegent from 2015 to 2020, the annual growth rate of small commercial UAVs is expected to reach 19%, which will result in 22 million UAV shipments by 2022. In addition, the global UAV market will reach around 10 billion USD by 2023. Problem that comes up with UAV is the propeller which based on its characteristic is a source of noise. Main noise-induced disturbance are increasing discomfort or stress, irritation, confusion, elevated blood pressure, headaches and the worst case is hearing loss. To reduce noise level caused by propeller some special treatment needed to be done to its design. The serrated trailing edge theory was first introduced by M.S. Howe and then developed by applying the serrated trailing edge to the propeller by Zhe Ning, Richard Wlezien, Hui Hu. The journal concluded that the serrated trailing edge can reduce noise up to 1.6dB. In this study, the author makes a propeller design with a serrated trailing edge using the Solidwork application. After making the design, proceed to the process of making the propeller, after being made it enters the testing stage using the Sunnysky X-2820 motor testing tool on 3000, 4000, 5000 RPM and noise is measured with a sound level meter with several differences in distance, namely 1m, 1.5m, 3m to determine the noise and thrust generated by each propeller.

Abstract

One of the most important components of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is a brushless motor and propeller, the majority of RC component manufacturers (battery, ESC, and propeller) do not list accurate empirical performance measurements. The purpose of this study was to be able to measure thrust and RPM during the design process of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) in order to be able to adjust the power of the propeller to the needs of the UAV. The method used is the research and development method, which is to produce a product and test the effectiveness of the product. the test is carried out using the APC Electric 9x6 propeller by taking data at 10 different RPMs then the data will be compared with data from the results of CFD analysis as validation. The test results of the APC Electric 9x6 propeller with CFD analysis have completely agree graphs, which means that it can be concluded that the results of this test tool have been validated.

Abstract

Proses produksi dan perawatan pesawat tidak lepas dari berbagai kendala yang menyangkut pendataan dan dokumentasi. Dalam AMO PPI Curug Selama ini pencatatan masih dalam bentuk hardcopy dan softcopy. Pencatatan dalam bentuk hardcopy menggunakan form pencatatan yang direkapitulasi perbulan. Pencatatan dalam bentuk softcopy menggunakan Microsoft excel yang direkapitulasi perhari dan ringkasan data per bulan. Permasalahan ditemukan sering terjadinya kesalahan input dan pendataan dalam penjumlahan jam terbang yang membuat tidak efisien dalam kinerja pekerjaan dan schedule inspection. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengembangkan rancangan aplikasi sistem pencatatan perawatan berbasis digital pada pesawat latih di Approved Maintenance Organization. Metode penelitian research and development (R&D) untuk mengembangkan produk sampai hasil pengujian keefektifan produk. Hasil penelitian bahwa aplikasi mempunyai spesifikasi berbasis web dan dapat digunakan pada platform device komputer ataupun Smartphone gadget. Simpulan penelitian adalah aplikasi pencatatan perawatan berbasis elektronik dapat berjalan dengan baik dan memiliki tingkat kepuasan dalam pengujian dengan kategori sangat baik.

Abstract

Propeller banyak digunakan dalam sistem propulsi pesawat tanpa awak. Propeller yang digunakan pada pesawat tanpa awak memiliki banyak variasi. Salah satu jenis propeller yang digunakan yaitu propeller dengan jenis contra rotating propeller. Penelitian ini berfokus untuk menganalisis pengaruh jarak propeller yang berputar berlawanan dengan gaya dorong yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan propeller APC Elektrik 9x6 dengan metode Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) dalam melakukan analisis. Analisis diawali dengan membandingkan hasil pengujian CFD single propeller dengan data eksperimen untuk validasi. Kemudian pengujian contra rotating propeller dilakukan dengan kecepatan putaran 5000 rpm dan kecepatan aksial 12 m/s. variasi jarak propeller dianalisis dengan 4 macam variasi yaitu 20 mm, 40 mm, 60 mm, dan 80 mm. Hasil pengujian CFD menunjukkan bahwa contra rotating propeller memiliki gaya dorong yang lebih besar dari single propeller. Kemudian hasil simulasi CFD pada contra rotating propeller menunjukkan bahwa koefisien gaya dorong terbesar yaitu 4,83 x 10-2 terdapat pada variasi jarak 60 mm.

Abstract

Kartika Aqasa Bhakti Flight Vocational School is located at Jalan Jembawan Raya No. 20 A Semarang, this Vocational School is the only school in the city of Semarang with a concentration in aviation majors, namely Airframe and Powerplant and Aircraft Electrical. In its development, the school management has always carried out efforts to improve the competence of maintenance teachers in the Airframe Powerplant major through training, visits, and other forms, but other forms of additional programs are still needed. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide training in carrying out repairs to sheet metal under airframe manufacturing standards as well as competence in the field of airframe maintenance required. The implementation of the community service chosen is a form of training, both theory and practice for competency in repairing sheet metal in aircraft. Implementation of online training through zoom and hands-on practice. Implementing sheet metal repair introduction training for teachers, it can increase the competence of teachers who have an undergraduate education background so that it helps in the teaching and learning process at the Kartika Aqasa Bhakti Aviation Vocational School   Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya jumlah dan kompetensi guru bidang produktif sekolah menengah kejuruan, khususnya bidang produktif SMK penerbangan. Data pemerintah tahun 2019 memperlihatkan mayoritas postur tenaga pengajarnya masih didominasi oleh kategori bidang normatif adaptif atau guru umum, sedangkan guru produktif yang mengajar materi pelajaran sesuai bidang keahliannya masih rendah, berada pada prosentase di bawah 35 %. SMK Penerbangan Kartika Aqasa Bhakti berlokasi di Jalan Jembawan Raya No. 20 A Semarang,  SMK ini adalah satu- satunya sekolah yang ada di Kota Semarang dengan konsentrasi jurusan bidang penerbangan, yaitu Airframe dan Powerplant serta Kelistrikan Pesawat Udara. Dalam perkembangannya, manajemen sekolah selalu melaksanakan upaya – upaya untuk meningkatkan kompetensi keahlian guru bidang maintenance pada jurusan Airframe Powerplant melalui pelatihan – pelatihan, kunjungan dan bentuk lain tetapi masih diperlukan bentuk program tambahan lain. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kompetensi dalam melakukan repair pada sheet metal sesuai dengan standar manufacture airframe. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakt ini melalui pelahitan on site baik teori maupun praktek hands on. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dalam bentuk pelatihan dasar sheet metal repair adalah para guru-guru bidang produuktif memiliki kompetensi dalam melaksanakan sheet metal repair sehingga meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran siswa bidang airframe.

Abstract

SMK Penerbangan Dirghantara merupakan salah satu sekolah menengah kejuruan swasta yang berlokasi di kompleks PPI Curug, tepatnya di Jalan Seneca, Tangerang, Banten. SMK Penerbangan Dirghantara memfokuskan diri pada bidang yang tersedia yaitu Airframe and Powerlant dan Avionic Electrical. Berdasarkan analisis situasi tersebut maka perlu adanya suatu upaya untuk memberikan solusi alternatif yang mampu meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan kinerja. Selain itu juga, diperlukan kegiatan yang dapat menambah semangat dan keterampilan serta kehati-hatian dalam bekerja. Hal ini juga untuk ikut serta mendukung program Pemerintah untuk mempersiapkan lulusan SMK agar siap memasuki dunia kerja. Dunia kerja bidang penerbangan sangat mengutamakan safety, seperti yang disampaikan Pemerintah dalam kampanya Keselamatan Penerbangan, dengan semboyan : Selamat, Aman dan Nyaman, karenanya tepat jika PPIC ikut serta berperan dalam meningkatkan safety melalui kegitan PKM Dosen PPI Curug yaitu melaksanakan training safety culture and Human factor untuk para siswa SMK Penerbangan Dirghantara.

Abstract

The process of aircraft production and maintenance cannot be separated from various obstacles related to data collection and documentation. So far, at AMO PPI Curug, the recording is still in hardcopy and softcopy. The hardcopy recording uses a recording form which is monthly recapitulated while softcopy recording uses Microsoft excel which is daily recapitulated from the summary of monthly data. The problem analysis found that there are frequent occurrences of input and data collection errors in the addition of flight hours that made it inefficient in work performance and schedule inspection. The research purpose is to develop an application design for a digital-based maintenance recording system on training aircraft at the Approved Maintenance Organization. The Research and development (R&D) research method are used to develop products into the results of product effectiveness testing. The research result shows that the application has web-based specifications and it can be used on a computer device platform or Smartphone gadget. The conclusion is that the electronic-based maintenance recording application can run well and it has a very good level of satisfaction in testing.
