Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic syndrome which occurs when insulin is insufficiently produced or insulin cannot well serve its function. Diabetes is marked with increase in blood glucose level followed by increase in glycosylated hemoglobin level and decrease in insulin level. This research aims to examining the effect of Ganoderma lucidum extract on the blood glucose, insulin and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level of diabetic white rat and determining the most effective dose of extract to be a diabetic agent. This research was experimentally conducted by employing Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 repetitions. The treatment groups consisted of healthy rats group (K1), rats with diabetes as negative control (K2), diabetic rats with the administration of metformin 45 mg/kg BW as the comparison (K3) and diabetic rats with the administration of G. lucidum extract with dose of 250, 500 and 1000 mg /kg BW (K4, K5 and K6 respectively). Blood glucose level examination was conducted after the alloxan induction with single dose of 125 mg/kg BW by intraperitoneal injection. The results show that mushroom G. lucidum extract administration with dose of 1000 mg/kg BW (K6) is the best dose to be an anti-diabetic agent. The benefit of the research is developing anti-diabetic agent from herbal resources.

Abstract

The problem of learning science in the classroom V Pontianak West SDN 72 is the lack of understanding of the materials science students, teachers still use conventional methods in the implementation of learning, students tend not to ask even though they do not understand the material presented teachers, teachers have not been giving the task Working in groups. The purpose of this research in general is to get clarity usage Cooperative learning model can improve student learning activities in the human respiratory materials in teaching Natural Sciences (IPA) in class V 72 Pontianak West SDN. The research method used is descriptive method, the form of action research. Techniques of data collection tool used is the technique of direct observation and communication techniques, and data collection tool used was sheet obesrvasi student and teacher observation sheet. Procedure of the research include: planning, implementation of observation and reflection. From the analysis result that there has been enhancing the students' learning activities through Cooperative Learning Model in the human respiratory materials in teaching Natural Sciences (IPA) in class V 72 Pontianak West SDN. It can be seen that in the first cycle of students' learning activities that the average value of physical activity 67%, the average value of the mental activity of 73%, and the average value of emotional activity an average of 70%. In the second cycle activities of learners that the average value of physical activity to 90%, the average value of the mental activity of 97%, and the average value of emotional activity an average of 93%. So, skills of teachers implementing Cooperative Learning models of human respiratory material to the fullest. Keywords: Activity Learning, Cooperative Learning Model. Abstrak : Permasalahan dalam pembelajaran IPA di kelas V SDN 72 Pontianak Barat yaitu rendahnya pemahaman siswa terhadap materi IPA, guru masih menggunakan metode konvensional dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran, siswa cenderung tidak mau bertanya meskipun mereka belum mengerti tentang materi yang disampaikan guru, guru belum pernah memberikan tugas yang dikerjakan secara berkelompok. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini secara umum adalah untuk mendapatkan kejelasan penggunaan model pembelajaran Kooperatif dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi alat pernapasan manusia dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA)di kelas V SDN 72 Pontianak Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif, dengan bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah teknik observasi langsung dan teknik komunikasi, dan alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah lembar obesrvasi siswa, dan lembar obsevasi guru. Prosedur penelitian mencakup : perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi atau pengamatan dan refleksi. Dari hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa telah terjadi peningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa melalui model pembelajaran Kooperatif pada materi alat pernapasan manusia dalam pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA)di kelas V SDN 72 Pontianak Barat. Hal ini dapat dilihat bahwa pada siklus I aktivitas belajar peserta didik yaitu nilai rata-rata aktivitas fisik 67%, nilai rata-rata aktivitas mental 73%, dan nilai rata-rata aktivitas emosional rata-rata 70%. Pada siklus II aktivitas belajar peserta didik yaitu nilai rata-rata aktivitas fisik 90%, nilai rata-rata aktivitas mental 97%, dan nilai rata-rata aktivitas emosional rata-rata 93%. Jadi, keterampilan guru dalam menerapkan model pembelajaran Kooperatif materi alat pernapasan manusia secara maksimal. Kata Kunci : Aktivitas Belajar, Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif

Abstract

The general objective of the research is to find out how the discussion of think pair and share models is implemented in order to increase the active involvement and ability of teachers in developing learning resources and media. This type of research is School Action Research (PTS). The research subjects were 8 teachers. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, assignments, documentation and observation. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of the study concluded that: (1) Discussion of think pair and share models gave an opportunity for each discussion participant (teacher) to work alone or collaborate by exchanging ideas and experiences, so that the discussion participants (teachers) interact intensively. (2) Discussion of think pair and share models can increase the activity of discussion participants (teachers) during the activity process. From the beginning until the end of the activity, the teacher involved is actively involved in each stage of the activity. (3) Discussion of the think pair and share model can improve the ability of teachers to develop learning resources and media, after they have done dikdusi or exchanged ideas and experiences with fellow teachers.
