Abstract

Backgrounds: Exclusive breastfeeding is beneficial to reduce child mortality and improve maternal health that compatible with the one of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that ensuring the child get exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of the birth.Objectives: This research aims to determine the relationship of family support to the practice of giving breastmilk to the baby in PuskesmasSudiang Raya Makassar area.Methods: This research is an analytic survey with Cross Sectional design. The population was 126 breastfeeding mothers. The statistical analysis used is the Coefficient of Contingency with α = 0,05.Results: The result showed that mothers who give breastmilk to their babies have a good family support of 57,6% and there is a relationship between family support and the practice of giving breastmilk to the baby in PuskesmasSudiang Raya Makassar area.Conclusions: Good family support can increase the amount of mothers who give breastmilk to their baby.Keywords: Breastmilk, Family Support, Baby, Mother

Abstract

Lifestyle influencesform of behavior or habits a person in responding to physical and psychological, environmental, social, cultural and economic endurance. One of them is a change in people's behavior in eating patterns in the lives of teenagers now results in changes in nutritional status because they tend to consume unbalanced foods and increase the number of  nutritional risks. Factor for teenagers who want to eat fast food often, which is available in some parts of the school. As a result of Behavioral Changes, some teenagers experience changes nutritional status that needed attention. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between fast food eating habits and macro nutrient intake with nutritional status of the students of Makassar 16 Junior High School. The study use a cross sectional study design with an analytical approach. This study uses statistical analysis, the chi-square test of the number of samples as much as 89. The habit of eating fast food is obtained from the food frequency questionnaire by adding the score of each food ingredient then compared with the average score of the total score of all subjects. Intake of macro nutrients is obtained from 2x24 hour form recall. Nutritional status is obtained by weighing and body weight then calculated using BMI. The data is presented in the form of graphs and narratives. The results showed that fast food eating habits tended several times (50.6%), and macro nutrient intake was generally good (52.8%). Nutritional status according to normal BMI was 47 people (52.8%) who had thin nutritional status of 32 people (36%), and those who had fat nutritional status were 10 people (11.2%). There is no relationship between the habit of eating fast food with nutritional status, and there is a relationship between macro nutrient intake and nutritional status values.

Abstract

Nutritional problems in Indonesia are still a serious health problem, especially over nutrition and diabetes mellitus. One effort that can be done in the management of diabetes mellitus is to regulate the diet or diet properly which aims to prevent blood sugar from rising dramatically. This can be done by consuming foods that are low in the glycemic index by utilizing purple yam into flour in the form of a snack bar. Cowpea has a high protein and contains amino acids that are important to the body by considering the nutritional value, benefits and acceptability. This study aims to determine the acceptability and analysis of the macro nutrient content of purple yam snack bars (Dioscorea alata) and cowpea (Vigna unguiculata). The research design was pre-experimental with the design of one shot group design. Acceptance was assessed based on a hedonic test of 30 panelists. The results of the best acceptability were analyzed for protein nutritional value using the micro kjedahl method, soxhlet method fat analysis, and carbohydrate analysis of the luff schroll method. Then presented in the form of tables and narratives. The results showed that the highest acceptability of panelists against snack bars was formula 1 with 80% purple yam flour addition and 20% cowpea. Based on the highest color aspect is formula 4, the aroma and texture aspects of formula 1 and the flavor aspect of formula 3. The nutritional content of proteins, fats and carbohydrates are 2.008 grams, 4.916 grams and 9.71 grams respectively. It is recommended to test crispness and shelf life. It is better to test snack bars for people with diabetes mellitus to see whether there is an increase in blood sugar.

Abstract

Background: Nutrition problem is a public health problem that the prevention can not be done with medical approach and health service only. Nutrition problem in addition is a syndrome of poverty that closely related to the problem of food security at the household level also concerns aspects of knowledge and behavior that are less supportive of lifestyle. Puskesmas Bulurokeng Makassar City in 2016, reported that there are 45 children under five suffering from malnutrition in Bulurokeng urban village.Objectives: The purpose of community service is to assess the change of body weight (TB), height (TB) and nutritional status of children under five in the education and giving of kelor leaf meal on the daily diet of children under five in Bulurokeng Urban Village in 2016. Number of children target infants as many as 29 children, intervention carried out for 1 month.Results: The number of cadres who participated in education as many as 5 people and 29 mothers who have a toddler. But at the end of the intervention, as many as 25 children under five could be collected for analysis. Kelor flour in children under five showed significant difference of weight gain (p = 0,001), but there was no difference in height change (p = 0,41) before and after intervention. The nutritional status of children under five does not change based on body weight index by age (BB / U), height by age (TB / U) and body weight by height (BB / TB).Conclusions: It takes about 3 months of moringa flour intervention on the child's food menu, in order to appear a significant change in nutritional status in children under five.Keyword: Moringa leaf flour, nutritional status.

Abstract

Nutrition education aims to encourage positive behavior changes related to food and nutrition. Knowledge about nutrition has been proven to have a positive impact on healthy food choices, so in this case proper nutrition education is needed so that the resulting behavior is positive behavior. This study aims to determine differences in the level of knowledge of iron anemia before and after providing nutrition education through the Whatsapp Group to young women at SMAN 13 Pangkep. The research design used was quasy-experimental with a one-group pre-test and post-test control design. The sample of this research was 30 female students from SMAN 13 Pangkep. Nutrition education conducted through the WhatsApp Group virtual class. The results showed that the level of knowledge of young women before virtual education (86.7%) increased to (96.7%) after virtual education was carried out through the Whatsapp Group application. The results of the analysis of the paired sample T test obtained a p value of 0.018, which means that there are differences in the level of knowledge of iron anemia before and after nutrition education through the WhatsApp Group in young women at SMAN 13 Pangkep. Education through Whatsapp Groups for young women can increase their knowledge about iron anemia so that young women avoid iron anemia
