Abstract

Research on the potential of the kirinyuh plant (Chromolaena odorata L.) in remediing mercury has been conducted. The kirinyuh plant is in a reactor that is powered by a 10 ppm mercury solution and is made with a variety of harvesting times of one, two, and three weeks. Mercury content analysis using mercury analyzer instrument ability of mercury accumulation and translocation in kirunyuh plant is determined from the value of BCF and TF.The results of the analysis showed mercury content in the plant kirinyuh reactor one on the soil, roots and leaves respectively: 0.70 ppm, 0.03463 ppm and 0.03595 ppm. In the second reactor is 1.89 ppm, 0.18 ppm and 1.45 ppm. For the third reactor is 9.63 ppm, 11.34 ppm and 10.95 ppm. While in the control reactor for soil samples is not detected, at the root of 0.20 ppm and on the leaves is 0.78 ppm. The BCF value of the kirinyuh plant in reactor one is 0.100828, in reactor two the BCF value is 0.862434 and in reactor three the BCF value is 2.3146. Tf values on reactor one, reactor two and reactor three in a row were 1.038117; 8.06 and 0.96560. the results of calculation of BCF and TF values show that kirinyuh plants tend to absorb and accumulate heavy metals, especially at the roots and headers so that this plant has accumulator properties or can absorb mercury so that it can be used as a phytoremediation agent of mercury-contaminated soil

Abstract

Chicken claw bone is a waste that has important compounds such as calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate which can be calcined to form calcium oxide to be used as an adsorbent. This study aims to analyze the content of calcium oxide in bone ash of chicken feet calcined at a temperature of 700 oC and activated by HCl using X-Rf. The performace of chicken claw bone ash activated by HCl as an adsorbent was seen from the ability to adsorb Pb2+ ions at a variation of the adsorbent mass 0.25; 0.50; 0.75; 1.00 dan 1.25 grams which were analyzed using atomic absorption spectrophotometer. The results of this study indicate that the composition of metal axides contained in chicken claw bone ash is calcium oxide of 70.5%. while the highest adsorption capacity if found in the adsorbent mass 0f 0.25 grams at 0.4948 mg/g, and the highest adsorption efficiency if found in the adsorbent mass of 1.25 grams at 72.098%. Tulang ceker ayam merupakan limbah yang memiliki senyawa penting seperti kalsium fosfat dan kalsium karbonat yang dapat dikalsinasi membentuk kalsium oksida untuk dijadikan sebagai adsorben. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kandungan kalsium oksida pada abu tulang ceker ayam hasil kalsinasi pada suhu 700 oC dan teraktivasi HCl menggunakan X-RF. Kinerja abu tulang ceker ayam teraktivasi HCl sebagai adsorben dilihat dari kemampuan mengadsorpsi ion Pb2+ pada variasi massa adsorben 0,25; 0,50; 0,75; 1; dan 1,25 gram yang dianalisis menggunakan Spektrofotometer Serapan Atom. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa komposisi oksida logam yang terkandung dalam abu tulang ceker ayam adalah kalsium oksida sebesar 70,5%. Sedangkan kapasitas adsorpsi tertinggi terdapat pada massa adsorben 0,25 gram sebesar 0,4948 mg/g, dan efisiensi adsorpsi tertinggi terdapat pada massa adsorben 1,25 gram sebesar 72,098%.
