Predicting EFL Learners’ Reading Comprehension Score from Reading Anxiety and Motivation Nurul Hidayati

Abstract

Language requires some skills such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking that may use in communication. In language teaching English reading has always been considered one of the most important parts of foreign/second language learning. Based on previous empirical researches, this study emphasizes to predict EFL learners’ reading comprehension from reading anxiety and motivation. The subject of the study was all the accessible population because the number of the sample is quite small so the researcher takes all the sample of the population. The units used in this research were English department students at University of Madura (UNIRA). Data were collected using questionnaire from 100 students of English department in University of Madura and analyzed using Multi Linier Regression program in SPSS 20 version for windows. The major findings include first, Reading anxiety have negative significant correlation on EFL learners in reading comprehension. Second, Motivation has positive significant correlation on EFL learners in reading comprehension. And third, Reading Anxiety and Motivation have significant correlation with EFL learners’ in reading comprehension simultaneously. Therefore, when the learners have high motivation their anxiety will decrease and learners will get better score. Those finding suggests one impact the other, so there is a need to incorporate motivation (intrinsic and extrinsic) to improve EFL learner’s reading comprehension being well then anxiety still in controlled.

Abstract

Banking sector need to find the right strategy in providing Customer Satisfaction and increase Customer Loyalty. Based on previous empirical research, this study emphasizes the importance of Innovation Capability and Ethical Behavior as the antecedents of Customer Satisfaction. Data were collected from 200 customers of Bank in Pamekasan regency and analyzed using Structural Equation Model (SEM). The major findings include first, Innovation Capability has significant effect on Customer Satisfaction. Second, Ethical Behavior has significant effect on Customer Satisfaction. Third, Customer Satisfaction has significant effect on Customer Loyalty.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Public Participation and Government Policies on Reducing the Spread of the Covid 19 Virus. This research is classified as explanatory research with a quantitative approach. The sample used was 100 respondents. The sample in this study is the community in four districts in Madura, Indonesia. This research used purposive sampling technique. The type of data used is primary data, namely collecting data using questionnaires. Analysis of the data used is Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. The result of this research shows that Public Participation has a significant effect on Government Policy, Government Policy has a significant effect on Reducing the Spread of the Covid 19 Virus, and Public Participation has a significant effect on Reducing the Spread of the Covid 19 Virus.

Abstract

One of the determinants of success in a banking company is good and optimal management of financial resources and precisely choosing partners for cooperation with existing capital turnover. This study aims to find out how the process of settlement of bad loans in murabahah financing at PT.BPRS SPM Pamekasan. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The resulting data is in the form of qualitative data, which was developed using a descriptive method. Descriptive method is a type of research that provides an overview or description of a situation as clearly as possible without any treatment of the object under study. Documentation in this journal research uses literature books and financial reports of PT. BPRS SPM in 2015- 2021, where in the data we carry out data observations, analyzes and draw conclusions. The research results show that the number of murabaha financing customers from 2015-2021 has increased. Whereas murabahah financing customers who are smooth and non-performing in 2015-2021 have more bad loans (bad credit), because one of them is caused by the large number of businesses that have gone bankrupt and the income that is not smooth in running their business. So it is advisable for bank management to always analyze the development of a customer's business to ensure partner customers do not commit bad loans to the bank.

Abstract

Low learning quality is one of the problems facing the world of education today, such as the Nushus learning process. This lesson aims to find out how the lecturer uses cooperative learning strategies with the jigsaw model in classroom to improve student learning outcomes. Cooperative learning strategies are one way to make students' learning experiences more active in the classroom, this affects the development or abilities of students both in terms of cognitive and psychomotor. This study used a qualitative approach with observation and interview procedures to describe the overall learning process and evaluation process. Therefore, the objectives of this study are: to know the jigsaw cooperative learning model; and to know the advantages of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model compared to conventional learning models. The application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model is effective for improving student learning outcomes, both learning outcomes in the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. The results of this study indicate that learning using the cooperative strategy of the jigsaw model improves the learning outcomes of male intensive students at IDIA Prenduan.

Abstract

The people in Kaduara Timur Pragaan Sumenep Village is a community that has good religious assets, this is evidenced by the existence of several activities carried out by the community such as holding tahlilan, maulidan, shalawatan and so on. This shows that religion in the village is quite good. In addition, the youth of the Al-Falah Mosque also play an active role in inviting other youth to always apply the values of Islamic teachings in individual or social life as an effort to spread Islam. High enthusiasm shown by elementary school children to come to the musholla or mosque to recite the Koran, but there is a lack of deepening of the Qur'an and tahfidz so that during the time waiting for the evening prayer the children only play so this service takes the initiative to carried out reforms and created a program “Increasing the Qur'anic Generation through the Procurement of Tahfidz Studios”. The program received a positive response and full support from the community and the village head to be held in mosques and prayer rooms. This service is carried out as a form of the Tri Dharma of higher education, namely doing community service, being part of meeting the needs of the community, in this case the service is carried out in the religious aspect.
