Abstract

Andhe Andhe Lumut is a folktale that derived from many versions of Panji tales. Andhe Andhe Lumut is the popular one amongst Indonesian, especially Javanese cultures. In popular culture, there are many works in various media that derived from Andhe Andhe Lumut story. Originally, as one of Panji tales, Andhe Andhe Lumut background story takes place at Kediri Kingdom era, but most of visual works like comics, picture story books, animations, drama costumes, etc use far more modern era style of traditional Javanese culture. Beside of that, from original text, Andhe Andhe Lumut folktale is designed for adult audiences, however most Indonesians have identified that folktale is a bedtime story for children. That’s why people can’t find visual works from Andhe Andhe Lumut story for adult audiences. As mentioned before, Panji tales have many versions. They are also already popular since Majapahit era. This is proven by carvings about some scene from Panji tales at Penataran Temple Complex which most of stuctures are built at Majapahit era. Panji tales themselves are semi fictional stories. Prince Panji or Inu Kertapati is inspired from King Kameswara II, seventh king of Kingdom of Kediri, and Princess Candra Kirana is inspired from Queen Kirana from Jenggala, but in Panji tales, their origins are opposite. Panji is from Jenggala and Candra Kirana is from Kediri. Ancient Javanese temple carvings could shows anything, but always showed environmental situations when the carvers live.”Teras Pendopo” building, where Panji tales carvings are located, was built at Majapahit era, when King Hayam Wuruk reigned. It is about 100 years after fall of Kediri, so the carvings are the closest visualization of Kingdom of Kediri daily life.Visualization of Andhe Andhe Lumut folktale based on original text and Panji tales characters at Penataran Temple Complex has never done before. Panji tales at Penataran Temple itself does not tell Andhe Andhe Lumut version of Panji. This comic design, if done properly can gives a new point of view about Andhe Andhe Lumut and can be the first comic of Andhe Andhe Lumut for adult audience with some historical accuracy.

Abstract

The limited number of healthcare personels affects failure on theraphy. In diabetes mellitus patients accellerates complication risks of micro or macrovascular so constant monitoring must be done. Most diabetes mellitus victims begins their diseases at age 45 or older which their cognitive abilities degrade but education is important for diabetes patients. Most healthcare personels educate their patients verbally. With cognitive abilities degradation of diabetes patients,  verbal communication becomes less effective. To overcome this communication problem, the best way is to communicate with less verbally but more visually. Visual communication in this case becomes an effective communication alternative to deliver educational messages which is easier to understand and minimize communication bias. This booklet design hopefully overcomes existing communication barrier in order to improves life quality of patients.

Abstract

There are various souvenirs to be chosen that consist of keychains, traditional crafts, postcards, t-shirts, stickers, etc. Postcard is one of many kinds of souvenirs. Through postcard that being sent to friends or relatives, people can show ‘proof’ that they have visited certain places. Today that activity isn’t longer popular because of more modern means of communication. However, postcards are still desirable as inexpensive souvenirs to be collected by tourists themselves or to be given to friends and relatives without sending it through postal service. There aren’t many variations of Malang City postcards. This is caused by  postcards that labeled ‘Malang’ often show visual elements that exist in greater Malang area but not the Malang City itself. This effort to design postcard tries to  make an alternatives for souvenirs of Malang City in general and also specifically an alternative postcards of Malang City.

Abstract

Seiring dengan semakin ketatnya persaingan antar berbagai perguruan tinggi khususnya Perguruan Tinggi Swasta (PTS). Sebuah perguruan tinggi harus memiliki branding yang baik dan selalu berusaha untuk meningkatkan dan mempertahankannya. Universitas Ma Chung merupakan PTS yang terletak di Malang Jawa Timur telah melakukan upaya peningkatan kegiatan promosi namun strategi yang dipilih masih tergolong umum. Penggunaan strategi promosi yang umum seperti yang dilakukan oleh universitas lain membuat positioning Universitas Ma Chung menjadi kurang kuat karena tidak ada sesuatu pembeda dengan universitas lainnya. Explainer videos adalah suatu media paling atraktif dalam menjelaskan tentang siapa atau apa yang dikerjakan dan mempromosikan sebuah bisnis dalam satu waktu. Melalui explainer videos Universitas Ma Chung akan dipermudah dalam kegiatan promosi dan branding. Metode perancangan explainer videos menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif meliputi discovery, script, storyboard, animation, dan delivery. Hasil perancangan menghasilkan alternatif media promosi berbentuk explainer videos dengan tujuan meningkatkan awareness Universitas Ma Chung.

Abstract

Sepur Kluthuk Jaladara adalah salah satu daya tarik pariwisata yang relatif baru di kota Surakarta. Wahana wisata ini adalah sebuah rangkaian kereta api yang ditarik lokomotif uap C1218 yang melewati jalur st. Purwosari - st. Solo Kota (PWS-SLK). Lokomotif C1218 dan jalur di antara stasiun Purwosari dan Solo Kota/Sangkrah ini sebenarnya masing-masing memiliki latar belakang cerita menarik tersendiri. Cerita-cerita ini berpotensi menjadi daya tarik tersendiri yang menjadikannya nilai lebih bagi wahana wisata ini. Saat ini belum ada yang pernah merangkai dan mengekspos latar belakang cerita tersebut menjadi sebuah cerita utuh. Ada beberapa cara untuk menyampaikan cerita ini agar mampu memberikan ketertarikan secara maksimal kepada audiens. Salah satunya adalah dengan merancang audio visual berwujud motion graphics.

Abstract

Proyek seni rupa “Unreasonableness” dilaksanakan dengan bertolak dari beberapa permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh komunitas Kentjingandjing, yakni (1) Permasalahan seputar menejemen pameran seni rupa, yang meliputi permasalahan pendanaan, sumber daya manusia, dan infrastruktur kesenian, (2) Pandangan publik seni kota Malang terhadap “fungsi” seni, serta (3) Penumbuhan kesadaran seniman sebagai seorang ilmuwan. Proyek dilaksanakan dengan mengimplementasikan metode penciptaan seni rupa yang bersifat ilmiah, yang terdiri dari 3 tahap yakni : (1) Internalisasi dan Inkubasi Gagasan; (2) Rumusan Konsep Penciptaan; dan (3) Eksekusi Penciptaan Karya Seni. Kesimpulan yang didapat dari aktivitas ini bahwa kegiatan ini telah secara efektif menjadi solusi dari permasalahan seputar manajemen seni rupa, namun untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran seni di kalangan masyarakat, kegiatan semacam ini masih memerlukan massifikasi, atau setidaknya merupakan kegiatan yang berkesinambungan dimana berbagai disiplin ilmu dapat terlibat. Disamping itu, metode ilmiah yang diimplementasikan dalam kegiatan ini dinilai cukup efektif oleh beberapa orang seniman yang terlibat, namun sebagian berpendapat penggunaan metode yang ‘rigid’ seperti ini justru membelenggu eksplorasi ide dan gagasan penciptaan, disamping itu kurang fleksibel bagi fluktuasi-fluktuasi yang akan sangat mungkin terjadi dalam proses penciptaan seni. ABSTRACT"Unreasonableness" art project conducted by starting from some problems faced by the Kentjingandjing, which is (1) The problems of an art exhibition management, which includes issues of funding, human resources, and infrastructure of the arts, (2) public view towards the "function"of art, and (3) artist awareness as a scientist. This projects conducted by implementing scientific methods of art creation, which consists of three stages: 1) Internalization and Incubation of Idea; 2) The formulation of the concept of Creation; and 3) Creation of Art. The conclusion that this activity has effectively become the solution of the issues surrounding the management of art, but to raise awareness of the arts in society, this activity still requires massification, or at least is sustainable activities in which various disciplines can be involved. Besides, the scientific method that implemented in this activity is effective by some of the artists, but some argue the use of methods that 'rigid' like this, would handcuff the idea of creation, in addition to the lack of flexibility for the fluctuations which may occur in the process of artistic creation.

Abstract

Adhikari Creations adalah sebuah UMKM kerajinan tangan yang memproduksi produk-produk sablon manual dengan diterapkan pada bantal, wall art, planter, dan bucket dengan visual yang umumnya berupa decorative quotes. Segmentasi pasar dari produk-produk Adhikari Creations adalah penggemar decorative quotes di mana umumnya adalah masyarakat menengah ke atas. Selain melayani pesanan perorangan, sejumlah pelanggan korporat juga menjadi pelanggan tetap dari Adhikari Creaton. Dalam mempromosikan produknya, Adhikari Creations memanfaatkan sosial media Instagram sebagai media utamanya. Walaupun sudah dikenal masyarakat, Adhikari Creations masih belum memiliki logo yang konsisten. Pemosisian diri sebagai white label company dan penitikberatan pada produksi membuat penanganan branding tidak menjadi prioritas. Selain itu, penggunaan logo yang tidak konsisten juga disebabkan oleh ketiadaan dokumen standar sistem identitas untuk menjaga konsistensi identitas. Walaupun memposisikan diri sebagai white label company, namun branding dan identitas tetap diperlukan konsistensinya untuk keperluan-keperluan yang berkaitan dengan perangkat teknis administratif seperti stempel, kop surat, maupun nota. Dari permasalahan tersebut, pengabdian masyarakat ini menawarkan solusi berupa penyuluhan seni mengenai pentingnya branding dan identitas, serta pendampingan dalam redesain logo untuk menghasilkan logo yang dapat digunakan secara konsisten. Adhikari Cretions is a handicraft home industry that produces manual screen print products showing decorative quotes that applied on pillows, wall art, planters, and buckets. Market segmentation of Adhikari Creations are decorative quotes enthusiast, upper middle class, and some corporates. To promote its products, Adhikari Creations shows their products mainly on Instagram. Although it already well known amongst certain groups of people, Adhikari Creations do not have consistent logo. Adhikari Creations positioned itself as white label company, so for it, branding is least priority. Beside those things, the lack of document for branding system standards causes this inconsistency. Although branding and identity can be prioritized less, especially for white label companies, it still important for some administrative purpose e.g. header for letters, stamp, and invoices. From that problems, this community service offers solution in form of art counseling about importance of branding and identity, also accompaniment in logo redesign to make a new logo that will be used consistently.
