Abstract

Gentle, polite, courteous, systematic, organized, clear, and straight forward use of language reflects a speaker’s personality and culture. Everyone, including the members of the South Sulawesi Parliament, is expected to maintain good manner and ethic in communication. The study aims to describe and explain declarative, interrogative, and imperative forms as well as speech act strategies used by the members the South Sulawesi Parliament. The qualitative study employed the functional approach on language. The study was conducted in the South Sulawesi Parliament House.  The data of the research were obtained from speech acts, field observations and interviews.   The stages of data collection are 1. Preparation, 2. Recording, 3. Observation, 4. Interview, and 5. Transcription. The data were analyzed by the following procedures: 1. data reduction, 2. data presentation and interpretation, and, 3. data conclusion and verification. The findings revealed that there were various forms of politeness used by the respondent. Moreover, the locution act was the more dominant strategy used by the respondent than the illocutionary act.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memeroleh, menganalisis, dan mendeskripsikan data mengenai (1) Tingkat kemampuan menulis puisi murid kelas VI SD Negeri 218 Inpres Dulang Kecamatan Tanralili Kabupaten Maros menggunakan metode akrostik berbantuan media video keindahan alam. (2) Tingkat kemampuan menulis puisi murid kelas VI SD Negeri 218 Inpres Dulang Kecamatan Tanralili Kabupaten Maros menggunakan teknik konvensional. (3) Efektif tidaknya penggunaan metode akrostik berbantuan media video keindahan alam efektif dalam pembelajaran menulis puisi murid kelas VI SD Negeri 218 Inpres Dulang Kecamatan Tanralili Kabupaten Maros. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei dengan teknik eksperimen semu. Adapun populasi penelitian adalah seluruh kelas VI SD Negeri 218 Inpres Dulang Kecamatan Tanralili Kabupaten Maros tahun pelajaran 2020/2021. Populasi tersebut berjumlah 60 orang yang terbagi dalam dua kelas, yaitu kelas IV A dan kelas IV B dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah total sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar menulis puisi murid kelas VI SD Negeri 218 Inpres Dulang Kecamatan Tanralili Kabupaten Maros menggunakan teknik akrostik berbantuan media video keindahan alam adalah 65,67 teknik konvensional adalah 58,33 dalam rentangan nilai 10-100. Selain itu, data pada hasil analisis keefektifan dalam uji t, menunjukkan nilai empiris (ta) :15,875 sedangkan nilai teoretis (t1): 1,67 pada taraf kpercayaan 95%, sehingga dinyatakan bahwa nilai t empiris (hitung) lebih besar daripada nilai t teoretis (tabel) (15,875 >1,67) yang berarti teknik akrostik berbantuan media video keindahan alam efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil menulis puisi murid kelas VI SD Negeri 218 Inpres Dulang Kecamatan Tanralili Kabupaten Maros.

Abstract

Abstract: Improving Reading Ability with the Card Sort Method in Indonesian Subjects at SD Unismuh Makassar. Reading is a means for students to learn something that is not yet known and can expand knowledge, students can recognize themselves, their culture even helps to recognize the culture of other people, and students can recognize written messages contained in reading . To achieve the above objectives, it is necessary to have the ability of students to read. The Card Sort method is a learning method that is used to help remember what they have read in reading books, not only from short term memory to long term memory, in fact many students are lazy to read the readings contained in reading books so that students have difficulty understanding the material studied. Based on the results of a pre-survey conducted on December 4 2022 at SD Unismuh Makassar with Indonesian teachers, it is known that problems in learning to read occur in class IV. Students have not been able to read properly and correctly, students have not been able to answer questions related to information and reading material, and draw conclusions from reading. As a result, most students are less active in concluding reading content, students also feel bored with learning to read so they are less enthusiastic about following it. In each reading lesson, the teacher only gives readings and then assigns students to read silently followed by answering questions according to the contents of the reading material. The use of the Card Sort learning method is expected to be able to improve students' reading skills in accordance with the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) for class IV in the Indonesian language subject at SD Unismuh Makassar because, in this Card Sort type cooperative learning method. Students are required to actively carry out the responsibilities of the tasks assigned by the teacher. The results of research using the Card Sort method can improve students' reading skills. Learning with this method can improve the reading of fourth grade students at SD Unismuh Makassar. The average Card Sort method in student learning in Indonesian subjects from the status cycle reached 60.50% then in the second cycle it reached 80.50% so it experienced an increase of 20%. In this case, students' reading increased by 45%. So with an increase in reading, students who complete learning are 80% and students who do not complete learning are 20%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to characterise the impact of using language game media to teach Indonesian, hoping to improve the language skills of eighth-grade students in Jeneponto Regency. Different treatments were administered to each group of students in this quantitative research, which followed an experimental research design. The control group received no special treatment and simply traditional approaches, whereas the experimental group was given media language games. Finding differences in learning achievement between students taught using media language games and students not taught using language games (conventional method) is a key goal of this study, which aims to inform best practices for teaching Indonesian to eighth-grade students in Jeneponto Regency. As a result, media-based language games are a powerful tool for teaching and learning Indonesian.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk gaya bahasa sindiran dalam media sosial, yaitu mendeskripsikan ironi, sarkasme, sinisme, dan satire pada Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, dan TikTok. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode pengambilan data berupa teknik simak dan catat. Proses pengumpulan data dengan cara melihat media sosial dengan cara simak, dilanjutkan dengan teknik catat yaitu mencatat data yang mengandung gaya bahasa sindiran. Data tersebut kemudian disimpan dalam bentuk screenshoot. Terakhir, mengklasifikasi dan mendeskripsikan bentuk gaya bahasa sindiran. Peneliti menemukan beberapa postingan dari pemilik akun yang menggunakan gaya bahasa sindiran. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pengguna media sosial menggunakan gaya bahasa sindiran, yang terbagi menjadi empat, yaitu ironi, sarkasme, sinisme, dan satire.

Abstract

This study aims to explain variations in the use of seller refusal strategies and politeness of refusal speech acts in the context of negotiation. To realize the above objectives, this study was designed using a language functional approach with a qualitative descriptive research type. The research location was carried out in traditional markets in Makassar City. The research data is in the form of utterances. The techniques used in data collection were (1) recording and (2) interviews. Data analysis in this study used an interactive model which included the following stages: (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation, and (4) verification and concluding. This method is expected to produce new theories related to the language of rejection at TKT 1-3 levels. The results of the study show that (1) the speech patterns of sellers and buyers in traditional markets in Makassar City found four patterns. Namely, call-answer patterns, request-information patterns, offer-rejection patterns, and offer-accept patterns, and (2) the forms of speech used by sellers and buyers, namely assertive speech which functions to state. Directive speech is divided into four purposes or objectives. Namely, command, beg, invite, and ask. Meanwhile, expressive speech is divided into three purposes or objectives. Namely, thanking, praising, and satirizing. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan variasi penggunaan strategi penolakan penjual dan kesantunan tindak tutur penolakan dalam konteks negosiasi. Untuk merealisasikan tujuan tersebut di atas maka, penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan pendekatan fungsional bahasa dengan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di Pasar Maricayya Kota Makassar. Data penelitian ini berupa tuturan. Teknik yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah (1) perekaman dan (2) wawancara. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model interaktif yang meliputi tahap: (1) pengumpulan data (2) reduksi data, (3) penyajian data, dan (4) verifikasi serta penarikan kesimpulan. Dengan metode tersebut, maka dapat menghasilkan teori baru yang berkenaan dengan bahasa penolakan pada level TKT 1-3. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) pola tuturan penjual dan pembeli di pasar Maricayya Kota Makassr ditemukan empat pola, yaitu: pola panggilan-jawaban, pola permintaan informasi-pemberian, pola tawaran-penolakan, dan pola tawaran-penerimaan dan (2) bentuk tuturan yang digunakan oleh penjual dan pembeli, yaitu tuturan asertif yang berfungsi menyatakan. Tuturan direktif terbagi atas empat maksud atau tujuan. Yakni, memerintah, memohon, mengajak, dan meminta. Adapun, tuturan ekspresif terbagi atas tiga maksud atau tujuan, yaitu: berterima kasih, memuji, dan menyindir.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application Modeling the Way learning methods to the learning outcomes of fifth grade students.. This study refers to 3 indicators namely; 1) the achievement of completeness of learning outcomes, 2) student activity in learning activities has increased, 3) students respond positively to the implementation of learning using the Modeling the Way method. The research design uses The One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Sampling using a proposive sampling technique. The population is the fifth-grade students with a research sample are 35 students of VB class. The study was conducted during 6 meetings. Data collection techniques using tests to measure learning outcomes before and after following learning by using the Modeling the Way learning method, observation sheet activities of students to observe student activities during the learning process, questionnaire responses of students to find out their responses to the implementation of learning using the Modeling method Way. The results showed that the average score of the initial test (Pretest) was 50.17 and there were 4 students (11%) who completed it, while the average score of the final test (Posttest) was 83.11 and there were 33 students (94%) in the complete category. Thus, it is evident that the use of the Modeling the Way method affects the learning outcomes of writing skills in the exposition paragraphs of fifth grade students of SD Inpres Mangga Tiga Makassar City.

Abstract

Model Pembelajaran Menulis Cerpen Menggunakan Teknik Brainwriting Berorientasi pada Imajinasi Siswa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis cerpen di sekolah. Pembelajaran menulis cerpen dapat menggali potensi dan mengembangkan imajinasi siswa. Oleh karena itu, perlu dicari faktor-faktor penyebab permasalahan tersebut dan upaya penanggulangannya. Salah satu alternatif upaya untuk mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dan meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam menulis cerpen adalah penggunaan model pembelajaran menulis cerpen dengan menggunakan teknik brainwriting yang berorientasi pada imajinasi siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian eksperimen. Data penelitian berupa hasil tes dan hasil observasi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 4 Tamalatea Jeneponto. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes deskriptif berupa cerpen siswa, untuk menguji kemampuan menulis cerpen yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Yang diberikan pada kelas eksperimen adalah pembelajaran menulis cerpen dengan teknik brainwriting, sedangkan kelas kontrol mendapat perlakuan pembelajaran konvensional.
