Abstract

Landasan terbentuknya koneksi matematis merupakan keterkaitan matematika dengan dunia nyata dan disiplin ilmu lain. Menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual adalah salah satu cara melatih kemampuan koneksi matematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan masalah kontekstual materi geometri ditinjau dari kemampuan matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang dilaksanakan di kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Babat, Lamongan tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari tiga peserta didik yaitu satu peserta didik berkemampuan tinggi, satu peserta didik berkemampuan sedang, dan satu peserta didik berkemampuan rendah. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari tes penyelesaian masalah kontekstual dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik berkemampuan matematis tinggi mempunyai kemampuan koneksi matematis sangat baik dengan memenuhi empat indikator koneksi matematis, peserta didik berkemampuan matematika sedang memenuhi tiga indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis dengan baik, dan peserta didik berkemampuan matematika rendah memenuhi dua indikator kemampuan koneksi matematis dengan baik.Kata Kunci: kemampuan koneksi matematis, masalah kontekstual, kemampuan matematika.The basic formation of mathematics connection was the relevance of mathematics with real world and discipline knowledge. Solving contextual problems is one way to train mathematics connection ability. The purpose of this study was to describe of students mathematics connection ability in contextual problem solving geometry material considered by mathematics ability. This study was qualitative research that held in 7th grade of SMP Negeri 1 Babat, Lamongan academic year 2018/2019. The subject of this study consisted of three students were one student with high ability, one student with medium ability, and one student with low ability. The instrument of this study were contextual problem solving test and guided interview. The result of the study showed that student with high mathematical ability has very good connections with four indicators of mathematical connection, student with medium mathematical ability have a good connection with three indicators of mathematical connection and student with low mathematical ability have a good connection with two indicators of mathematical connection.Keywords: Mathematical connection ability, Contextual problem, Mathematics ability
