Abstract

: Liberal Feminism is an ideology that advocates for equal opportunities for men and women in a variety of areas, including employment, health, education, marriage, and family life, as well as public life and politics. Ideologically, Liberal Feminism emerged from the belief that Biblical Tradition, as documented in its verses, set women apart from men. This study would look at the connection between Biblical culture dominating women's positions in Western civilization and the advent of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). The investigation would include the patriarchal ideology found in Biblical Tradition, the notion of gender emancipation. In order to answer this research question, this research will use the method of ‘Discourse Analysis' to address the roots of Liberal Feminism as they are found in the Biblical Tradition and the method of ‘Document Analysis' to elaborate on CEDAW records. This study concludes that there is a strong connection between Biblical values and the concept of Liberal Feminism as it is embodied in CEDAW.

Abstract

AbstractMuhammad in Islam is an example for all Muslims in the world. However, the Orientalist figure has a different view on the Muslims about Muhammad. In Europe, the Prophet Muhammad is seen as an idolater or renamed Mahound (The Dark Soul), known as the Anti-Christ, and a Christian who diverges from his religion. But German Orientalist Annemarie Schimmel has a different look with the most orientalist. He is a Orientalist figure who covers the love of Prophet Muhammad in depth. Seen in describing Muhammad as a worthy model of the example of people all over the world because of its tenderness, goodness, courtesy, politeness and familiarity. Annemarie Schimmel used the method of phenomenology in his research and he tended to use mystical science to adopt the notion of Islamic sufism; such as: Jalaluddin Rumi, Sana'i, Atthar and others who Mengagung-agungkan Prophet Muhammad SAW, showed sincerity and his attention to religion. His view of the Prophet Muhammad and also Muslims in general, he admitted that Muhammad was a good example and also a concluding prophet who had no messenger or other religion after his return. He also acknowledged the prophetic sign of Muhammad such as the Qur'an which was revealed to him, Isra’ Mi'raj and Mu'jizat; Like splitting the moon and her chest split in small time. And he also included the view of scholars and Muslims about the prophetic prophet especially mystical or Sufism.

Abstract

Waḥid ad-Dīn Khān has a profound interest in questions of faith within the discourse of Kalam with the emergence of challenges in religion and the cognitive explosion in contemporary thought. In this case, Khān is encouraged to defend Islamic theology from challenges, such as the evidence-based questions about the existence of God. Those inquiries are arising among Western atheists, who are seeking scientific, empirical, and rational evidence. Responding to this challenge, Khān defends the theology by introducing a fresh paradigm of Kalam, a scientific theory based on Quranic foundations. This discourse encourages the ramification of Quranic values to remind God’s intention, configures the “scientific” verses with new scientific discoveries, inspires the complete verses of God in the human soul, and integrates Islamic-theological literature with scientific methods. Khān argues that modern scientific discoveries are parallel with the Qur'an, in which the human mind and divine revelation are colliding with each other.

Abstract

This paper is a qualitative theological research discussing Dante Alighieri’s (d. 1321) account of LGBT-Q (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) based on his major work, Inferno, with a particular reference to Medieval Christian tradition. Accordingly, this paper used content analysis to apprehend major literature on Dante and LGBT-Q. This paper concluded that the term Sodom and Gomorrah, the cities demolished due to homosexual violation, is apparent in his work. Furthermore, as several Biblical texts also suited the concrete image of those cities, Dante’s Inferno also presented Medieval Christian position concerning homosexuality, which is condemn homosexuality as lust against the role of nature, so it is equated with committing violence against God.
