Abstract

The examination result of X grade students in SMA Adabiah Padang shows that most of the students comprehend less than 60% of the learning material about atom. It will impact to the learning in the higher grade, therefore, a study held to know the conceptual development of students. It was qualitative descriptive which explorative and cross sectional approach. The instrument is open ended questions which gave to 204 students to know their conception about atom. Their conceptions tend developed in the electron configuration of atom, electron configuration of ion, determination of period and group of atom. In Addition, majority of students had the correct concept about the basic particles of atom. Meanwhile, the concept about atom and atomic model did not change significantly. Most of them did not understand in the concept of wave mechanic atomic model.

Abstract

The material in chemistry subjects can be fully understood if the learning emphasizes the macroscopic, sub-microscopic and symbolic levels and links the three levels. The material for electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions contains abstract concepts. Students only understand concepts that exist macroscopically and memorize concepts sub-microscopically or symbolically on the material, resulting in students having difficulty understanding the material. This study aims to describe the understanding of students' multi-representation of chemistry on the material of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions for class X MAN 2 Kota Padang. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. Samples were taken randomly, namely random sampling for class X IPA 6 as many as 34 samples. The instruments used are descriptive tests and interviews, the questions given include 3 levels of representation using Miles & Huberman data analysis techniques and data processing with Microsoft Excel. The results showed that 53% of students could connect the three levels of chemical representation of 6 questions, 44% of students could connect the three levels with 5 questions out of 6 questions and only 3% of students could connect the three levels with 3 questions out of 6 questions. The average understanding of the highest representation is on macroscopic representation because 98% of the number of students who have a very good understanding category, while at the sub-microscopic level only 9% of the number of students who have very good understanding category, and at the symbolic level 44% of the number of students who have very good understanding category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan belajar dan mengungkapkan faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar yang dialami oleh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 2 Solok Selatan pada materi Hidrolisis Garam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk dapat membantu guru memberikan solusi terbaik dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar peserta didiknya, sehingga tujuan pembelajaran dapat tercapai sebagai mana mestinya. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes diagnostik berupa essay terstruktur kimia yang sudah valid dan teruji reliabilitasnya. Selain itu, pada penelitian ini juga dilakukan pemberian angket/kuisioner untuk mengetahui penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa, baik dari faktor internal maupun faktor eksternalnya. Hasil analisis data pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan belajar siswa pada materi asam basa di kelas XI MIPA 1 SMA 2 Solok Selatan berada pada kategori tinggi yaitu sebesar 62,5% dengan-faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar berupa materi penghambat yaitu stoikiometri sebesar (5,36%), persamaan reaksi larutan (18,75%), dan asam basa (49,11%). Faktor penyebab internal berupa minat belajar sebesar (59,2%), bakat (48,2%), motivasi (69,6%), serta kebiasaan belajar yang kurang baik sebesar (56,7%). Sementara itu faktor penyebab eksternal yang berpengaruh berupa aspek cara mengajar guru sebesar (55,7%), singkatnya waktu pelajaran kimia (51,8%), dan fasilitas sekolah sebesar (71,4%). Faktor lingkungan yang berpengaru berupa lingkungan keluarga sebesar (64,1%) dan lingkungan sosial sebesar (62,2%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbandingan hasil belajar siswa pada materi Larutan Penyangga menggunakan model pembelajaran guided inquiry learning dan guided discovery learning. Populasi merupakan seluruh siswa kelas XI Mipa Sman 1 Tigo nagari dengan jumlah populasi 125 siswa dan sampel 63 siswa, teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Jenis penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan rancangan Randomized Control-Group Pretest-Posttest Design diperluas. Desain penelitian dibagi menjadi dua kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen I dan eksperimen II. Kelas eksperimen I diajarkan dengan model guided inquiry learning dan kelas eksperimen II diajarkan dengan model guided discovery learning. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes dan nontes. Metode tes yang digunakan adalah soal tes hasil belajar kognitif siswa dan metoded nontes berupa observasi dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh setelah penelitian dilakukan uji N-gain, uji normalitas, homogenitas dan uji hipotesis. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata peningkatan hasil belajar siswa dikelas eksperimen I (54) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas eksperimen II (46). Data yang diperoleh normal dan homogen, selanjutnya dilakukan uji hipotesis sehingga diperoleh thitung (2,65) > ttabel (1,99962) pada α = 0,05 menunjukkan hipotesis diterima. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa model guided inquiry learning lebih dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dibandingkan model guided discovery learning.

Abstract

This study aims to develop interactive media on the digestive system material and then find out its validity and practicality. This type of research is development research is development using modified 4-D models, consisting of 4 stage namely, define, design, develop and disseminate. But at the disseminate stage is not done. The define phase consist of initial-end analysis, student analysis and media analysis. At the design stage, interactive media design is carried out. At the develop stage, the validity test was conducted by the validator, namely the lecturer of Natural Science, Faculty of Mathematic and Natural Science, UNP, and the practicality test by thr science teacher of SMP N 6 Padang and student of class VIII. Based on research that has been done, it’s obtained data for interactive media that has been made on the digestive system material can be used with valid categories by the validator and practical by the teacher and very practical by students, and can make the learning atmosphere more effective with media with media assistance learning in this form of interactive media.

Abstract

Learning media are tools used to help convey learning material in the teaching and learning process so that it makes it easier to achieve learning objectives. To increase students 'interest in reading learning media, learning media is needed that can attract students' attention, one of which is scrapbook. Scrapbook is a book made by attaching pictures or words and inscriptions on the book. Along with advances in technology, scrapbooks can also be made digitally and can be accessed using cellphones and computers. This type of research is development research using a 4-D model consisting of define, design, develop and disseminate. but the disseminate was not done. In the field of definition, it consists of beginning-end analysis, student analysis, task analysis, concept analysis and learning objective analysis. At the design stage, a digital scrapbook learning media is designed. At the development stage, a validator test was carried out, namely a science education lecturer at FMIPA UNP and a practical test by grade 8th teachers and students of the Darul Falah Lubuk Tarok Islamic Boarding School. human excretion system material can be used as a learning medium, with the high validity category of the validator. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menentukan persentase kesulitan belajar dan mendeskripsikan faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar yang dialami siswa kelas XI MIPA tahun ajaran 2022/2023 pada materi senyawa hidrokarbon yang berjumlah 32 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrument tes diagnostik berupa tes diagnostik three-tier multiple choice yang sudah valid dan teruji reliabilitasnya. Selain itu, pada penelitian ini juga dilakukan pemberian angket untuk mengetahui penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa dari faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar pada materi senyawa hidrokarbon di kelas XI MIPA 1 SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang berada pada kategori cukup tinggi yaitu sebesar 55,4%. Persentase kesulitan belajar paling tinggi terdapat pada indikator ke-2 yaitu mendeskripsikan kekhasan atom karbon dalam senyawa hidrokarbon sebesar 75,1% berada pada kategori tinggi. Faktor internal yaitu minat (79,4%), motivasi (65,7%), dan bakat (73,5%). Sedangkan faktor eksternal yaitu metode mengajar guru (77,2%).
