Abstract

This paper proposes a DC Motor PID controller with PWM feedback. Angular position control of DCmotor using pulse width modulation (PWM) feedback mechanism and Arduino microcontroller model of DC Motorare presented in this paper. To do this task, the followings are done. Firstly, a dynamic mathematical model of aDC motor is derived. Secondly, designing a control system to be applied to the DC motor. Thirdly, implementingthe hardware and software. The programming code for PWM signal execution is written by using c code andmatrix laboratory for Arduino microcontroller. The instruction code is implemented by the Arduinomicrocontroller to execute the control signal. Finally, the proposed DC Motor PID controller with PWM feedbackis proven by experimental. The experimental results show the effectiveness of a DC Motor PID controller withPWM feedback. The output can track the 260 rpm setpoint properly. The experimental results are not smooth dueto the noise in the system.Keyword: DC motor, PID controller, PWM, microcontroller

Abstract

Suhu dan kelembaban dalam kehidupan sangat penting. Pada sistem penetasan telur amatlah berpengaruhterhadap pertumbuhan embrio. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan suatu simulasi pengontrolan suhu dankelembaban secara otomatis menggunakan perangkat lunak LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual InstrumentEngineering Workbench) yang hasilnya bisa dipakai dalam sistem kontrol komputer untuk keperluan memonitordan megontrol suhu dan kelembaban. Objek pemodelan dan simulasi untuk tujuan pengontrolan adalah sistempenetasan telur.Simulasi dilakukan dengan jalan meniru karakteristik dari komponen-komponen fisik yang dipakai dalammengontrol suhu dan kelembaban yakni lampu pemanas, kipas penghilang kelembaban, dan keran air pelembabdengan menggunakan LabVIEW. LabVIEW disini berfungsi untuk memproses data yang diperoleh dari sensorlalu membandingkan nilainya dengan nilai yang diinginkan kemudian memberikan suatu instruksi kepadakomponen-komponen fisik di atas untuk mengambil suatu tindakan yang membawah plant pada kondisi yangdiinginkan.Hasil dari simulasi ini adalah pada saat suhu di bawah batas minimum yang ditentukan maka lampu akanmenyala sampai pada batas suhu maksimum maka lampu akan mati, begitupula dengan kelembaban pada saatkelembaban melewati batas maksimum maka kipas pnghilang kelembaban akan hidup untuk membuangsebagian udara yang lembab dan apabila kelembaban di bawah batas minimum maka keran air pelembab akanmenyemprotkan molekul air yang halus ke udara. Kesimpulan dari hasil simulasi yang diperoleh adalah sistemkontrol dapat bekerja secara otomatis.

Abstract

Dalam aplikasi sebuah pengendali harus memenuhi persyaratan kualitas atau karakteristik utama yaitulinearitas, tidak tergantung temperatur, kepekaan, waktu tanggapan, batas frekuensi terendah dan tertinggi, stabilitaswaktu dan histeresis. Untuk nilai masukan tertentu, pengendali harus dapat memberikan keluaran yang tetap nilainyadalam waktu yang lama. Demikian juga sensor dan pengendali dapat mengalami gejala histeresis seperti yang adapada magnetisasi besi. Pada temperatur tertentu akibat dari karakteristik ini sebuah sensor dapat memberikankeluaran yang berlainan, tergantung pada keadaan apakah saat itu temperatur sedang naik atau turun. Dalampenelitian ini dilakuan pengujian tentang karakteristik pengendali on-off untuk aplikasi pada sistem pengendaliantemperatur. Karaktristik pengendali on-off yang akan diuji adalah alat pengendali yang terpasang pada mesinpenetas telur otomatis tipe C-100 yang berada di laboratorium dasar Teknik Mesin Unsrat.Dari hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh bahwa: sistem yang diuji beroperasi dengan baik sesuaiberfungsinya yaitu on pada 350C dan off pada 400C, sistem pengendali adalah linier, respon kenaikan temperaturbergantung pada besar energi pemanas dalam kasus ini ditunjukkan oleh posisi dimer, dan respon penurunan suhu(lama waktu pemanas off) bergantung pada besar beban didalam wadah yang dikendalikan yaitu telur dan air didalamwadah. Overshoot dapat terjadi oleh karena besar energi pemanas.

Abstract

The utilization of water as a natural resource of renewable energy for power plant is one of the alternative solutions to replace the need for fossil fuels. there is a waterfall on the river which through Kali village in Pineleng district, From observations and the calculation speed of the flow by using buoys, and river cross-sectional area obtained the total river debit Q = 0.323 m3 / s. From the measurements is also obtained high fall the waterfall H = 12 m. Based on the existing height and debit of the water fall the major dimensions of a water turbine Pelton Micro Hydro type as the driving power generator was planned. The results of calculations for effective head = 12 m, with a water debit that is used to drive the runners Q = 0.06 m3/s, gained power generated by 4.0 kW. By the data is planned the main dimensions of micro turbine Pelton outer runner diameter Do = 380.8 mm, the diameter of the circle pin D = 202 ​​mm, number of bowls z = 19 with 1 nozzle, and a shaft diameter ds = 45 mm. Abstract

Filter in this research is interpreted as screening of undesirable frequency component in order to depressed it as small as possible to produce the changes of magnitude of response signal. The filtered vibration signal is in a form of the Random Signal Excitation which is generated in MATLAB Version 6.5. The signal is filtered by using Filter Chebyshev Type II. Simulation conducted repeatedly from 10 to 100 times excitation. Magnitude of Response Filter is obtained after simulation. Result is compared to its initial and expressed in the form of different percentage of magnitude between the mean of Magnitude of Response Filter because of applying Random Excitation Signal to the Excitation of Signal Impact from 10 to 100 times. Maximum different percentage of highest magnitude occurred in the simulation of 10 times excitation (57%). While the Minimum occurred in the simulation of 50 times (32%). Abstract

Interchangeability of motorcycles spare parts  is needed in case of difficulty obtaining the original in the market. This research aims to develop the software model to optimize output shaft diameter and to compare the torque  forwarded to rear sprocket of  a motorcycle. The software develop using MATLAB R2010. Optimization is performed by making objective function variables with constraints and stress deflection resulted it the shaft loaded. Optimization is carried out with the conditioning in the highest speed transmission, that is : 1 840rpm, 2 1300rpm, 3 1800 rpm to 4 3000 rpm, and 5 3500rpm. Results obtained for a 8426.41 Nm/s power standard motorcycle is shaft diameter Do=12mm and Di=1.04mm. Finally, the software calculate the inertia force in order to obtain the stress Results showed that presence of shaft diameter optimization, load balance as well as engine power was still able to be borne on the optimum diameter. With the change of the diameter of the shaft diameter of the bearing replacement is done it is the same with the outer diameter of the shaft. Key word : rear wheel axle, Optimization, Do, Di.

Abstract

This research was aimed to optimize a lathing cost by varying the cutting speed and cutting depth. A test was perfomed on 27 steel shaft AISI-1040 test objects with diameter of 25 mm and 150 mm long each, in order to obtain the optimum cutting time and cost in a lathing process. It was found that higher the cutting speed, the lower the total production cost, while the cutting depth does not affect the total production cost. The optimum average machining time is 3.153 minute/test object and the lowest total production cost is Rp.5,653/test object. The optimization made the target to minimize the total production cost was reached in cutting speed of 1600 rpm and cutting depth of 1,00 mm, with total production cost of the lathing process of the 27 test objects as much as Rp.16,960 Keyword: Optimization, Lathe, Cutting time, Production cost

Abstract

ABSTRACT Filter in this research is interpreted as screening of undesirable frequency component. In this research, the highest different percentage of magnitude for the 15, 30, 45 until 150 times of excitation can be obtained. The impact excitation signal and the random excitation signal were develop using Matlab version 6.5. The random and impact signal then filtered using Butterworth filter. The excitation of random signal was develop using Matlab version 6.5. The simulation of random signal was proceed repeatedly over 15, 30, 45 until 150 times of excitation. The simulation resulted the average numbers of filter magnitude response. Which is then compared with the impact excitation signal indicated by percentage difference. Based on the results of simulation and calculation the maximum different percentage of highest magnitude occurred in the simulation of 15 times excitation (50%). The chart of the different percentage of highest magnitude tend to be flat at the 60 times until 150 times of excitation. While the average numbers of filter magnitude response due to the random signal excitation can not be considered as same as the numbers of filter magnitude response due to the impact signal, because the difference is above 5%. Abstract

  Currently the development of robot technology is growing rapidly. The technology is utilized and developed to assist people in doing their activities more easily and efficiently. One application of the robotic technology is the line follower robot that is widely used in transportation in industrial field. The purpose of this thesis was to determine the working principle and reliability of the line follower robot with its main components that are power supply, sensors, microcontrollers, and motor drivers. The methodology of the research is to design and to assamble a line follower robot and perform direct testing of the reliability on the on 6,5m “Ϩ” - shaped tracked. The results show that the stages of the assembling of the line follower robot consist of the installation of each circuit and the installation of the drive system in robot frame. The test results show that the line follower robot is able to pass through the track well with average speed of 0,22 m/sec. Keywords : Design, Line Follower Robot, Microcontroller
