Abstract

This study is an experimental research. In this study, the writer limits the discussion by stating the following problems:” How well do Elementary students produce their vocabulary after being taught using Total Physical Response?”, “How well do Elementary students produce their vocabulary after being taught using Direct Method?”, “Is there any difference result of teaching vocabulary to Elementary students, using Direct Method and Total Physical Response?”. The aim of this experimental research is first; to analysis how well the Direct Method influences the students in learning vocabulary. Second, how well the Total Physical Response influences the students in learning vocabulary. So, we can determine whether there is significance difference in the achievement between students who were taught using Direct Method and taught by using Total Physical Response. There were three steps in conducting this experimental research; choosing the sixth graders of MI Al Iman Gunung Pati as the population, taking two groups of the students as samples; one as an experimental group and the other as a control group that consist of 16 students each group and after that conducting the real experiment. To obtain the data, the writer used post-test only in implement the step. The result of this research showed that the experimental group got better achievement than the control group. Dealing with this experimental research, the writer suggests that Direct Method can be used as a method in teaching vocabulary to sixth graders of elementary school. Abstract

 This research was conducted to describe the use of face book to improve the simple writing skill to the first graders in Educational Program of Kindergarten Teacher IKIP Veteran Semarang in academic year of 2014/2015 and to find out the result of applying face book for teaching simple writing. The data source of my study was the first graders in Educational Program of Kindergarten Teacher IKIP Veteran Semarang in academic year of 2014/2015 which consists of 35 students. The instruments consist of a free writing test. It means that the student were free to choose any topic of their experience because it is in the form of a simple writing text. This study is an action research. There were four steps in conducting an action research: Planning. Action, Observation, and Reflection. This action research was done in two cycles. The teaching of simple structure through face book contributes significantly to the students’ improvement. There were 63.31 on pre test and 78.60 on post test of improvements of writing text. Based on this result, I could draw conclusion that the use of face book can improve the student’s writing skill. Keywords: Face book, Improve, Interactive Multimedia, Writing skill.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan proses dan hasil sebagai upaya meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita menggunakan teknik paired story telling pada siswa kelas X3 SMA Shalom Bengkayang Kabupaten Bengkayang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan bentuk penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Teknik analisis data yang digunakan teknik deskriptif komperatif dan teknik analisis kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengunaan teknik paired story telling dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bercerita siswa kelas X3 SMA Shalom Bengkayang Kabupaten Bengkayang. Kata Kunci: peningkatan, kemampuan bercerita, dan teknik paired story telling.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the applying Total Physical Response through snake and ladder game for teaching English for children to kindergarten teachers in South Semarang District in academic year of 2014/2015 and to find out the result of applying Total Physical Response through game for teaching English for children. The data source of my study was the teachers of kindergarten in south Semarang District in academic year of 2014/2015 which consists of 30 kindergarten teachers. The instruments consist of vocabulary and free simple writing test. It means that the kindergarten teachers were taught first about vocabulary for kindergarten children and then they were asked to make simple writing sentence related to vocabularies have been learned. The learning process was based on Total Physical Response through snake and ladder game. This study is an action research. There were four steps in conducting an action research: Planning. Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. This action research was done in two cycles. The teaching of vocabulary and simple sentence through snake and ladder game contributes significantly to the achievement of kindergarten teachers’ improvement. Based on the result of the pre cycle, there were 30% participant who passed the indicator standard. After applying Total Physical Response through snake and ladder game on first cycle, there were 50% participants who passed indicator standard and on the second cycle, there were 86 % of improvements of mastering vocabulary and simple writing sentences. Based on this result, I could draw conclusion that applying Total Physical Response through snake and ladder game can improve the kindergarten teachers’ vocabulary and simple writing skill.

Abstract

The research intends to examine and analyze simultaneous and partial impacts of Economic Value Added (EVA), Total Assets Turnover (TATO), and Return On Equity (ROE) on Stock Price in Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) Index LQ 45. Based on the result of panel data, it shows adjusted R-Square value of 0.947970, which means that 94.79% of independent variables that consist of Economic Value Added (EVA), Total Assets Turnover (TATO), and Return On Equity (ROE) are able to affect stock price. Based on the hypothesis test, it indicates that Economic Value Added (EVA), Total Assets Turnover (TATO), and Return On Equity (ROE) simultaneously have significant impacts on stock price with f-value of 78.73768 with significance value is 0.000000, smaller than α =0.05. Partially, Economic Value Added has significance and negative impact on stock price with t-value of -3.653833, and significance of p-value is 0.0006, smaller than α =0.05.  Total Assets Turnover has no impact on stock price with t-value of -0.332988, and significance of p-value is 0.7406, higher than α =0.05. Return On Equity has significant and negative impact on stock price with t-value of -5.902786 and significance of p-value is 0.0000, smaller than α =0.05.

Abstract

The Goal is to describe storytelling method through visual audio to improve verbal language competence and to know the result of using storytelling method through visual audio media. This study applied an action research with two variables, verbal language competence and storytelling with audio-visual media. The steps used were: Planning. Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. The subject was children of PAUD Alam Jungle School Consisted of 13 girls and 7 boys. The result showed that storytelling through visual audio media contributes significantly to the children’ verbal communication improvement. It can be seen from the cycle I reach 50 % (10 children) in category undeveloped, starting develop is 40 % (8 children), and 10 % (2 children) in category undeveloped. The cycle II showed that children on category developed properly are 85 % (17 children) and category starting develops is 15 % (3 children).Â
