Abstract

Minyak esensial kayu manis (CEO) adalah zat antimikroba alami yang sedang diselidiki untuk kemasan makanan sebagai pengganti bahan kimia sintetis karena kekhawatiran konsumen atas keamanan pangan. Pada penelitian ini Poli asam laktat (PLA) dan kitosan berhasil dimodifikasikan dengan minyak essensial oil (CEO) pada konsentrasi (1,5%, 2%, 2,5%, dan 3% v / v) yang membentuk serat-serat komposit dengan menggunakan metode electrospinning sederhana. Morfologi dari serat-serat komposit dapat dilihat dari PLA / CS-CEO-2.5 menunjukkan stabilitas yang baik dari CEO, sehingga aktivitas antimikroba peningkatan dibandingkan dengan campuran lainnya. Serat PLA / CS-CEO menunjukkan tingkat inaktivasi jangka panjang yang tinggi terhadap Escherichia coli dan Staphylococcus aureus karena pelepasan berkelanjutan CEO, menunjukkan bahwa maju PLA / CS-CEO fibers memiliki potensi besar untuk aplikasi kemasan makanan aktif

Abstract

Penelitian tentang pelapis cat poliuretan berbasis minyak jarak dengan bahan pengisi bentonit yang dimodifikasikan dengan CTAB menjadi montmorillonit (MMT). Penambahan MMT pada poliuretan minyak jarak berfungsi sebagai zat ketahanan panas. Pembuatan poliol dari asam risinoleat minyak jarak sebagai bahan baku utama pembuatan poliuretan melalui reaksi epoksidasi dan hidroksilasi. Poliol minyak jarak hasil sintesis direaksikan dengan isosianat berupa toluene diisosianat (TDI) sebagai bahan baku pembuatan poliuretan. Poliuretan merupakan bahan utama pembuatan pelapis cat dan masih memiliki kekurangan seperti ketahanan terhadap suhu yang tinggi. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan penambahan MMT yang telah terpurifikasi kedalam pelapis cat poliuretan sebagai zat ketahanan panas.Pada penelitian ini sifat ketahanan panas dengan suhu tertinggi berada pada MMT 8%.

Abstract

A novel segmented polyurethane/clay nanocomposites has been synthesized by polyurethane based on palm oil and Kunipia-F as organoclay with an ammonium salt of cetyltrimetyl ammonium bromide (CTAB). In this investigation, we give much interest to synthesis of polyurethane/clay based on palm oil as raw materials for polyols to open new era for partial replacement of petrochemical based polyol with palm oil based polyols. Surprising, we got the polyurethane elastomer after along time polyurethane based on palm oil only using in coating applications. However, it is the first report in investigation about polyurethane/clay nanocomposites based on palm oil. Polyurethane/clay nanocomposites were prepared by a pre-polymer method and evaluated by fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction measurements (X-RD) respectively.Keywords : Nanocomposite, polyurethane, synthesis, palm oil

Abstract

Gluten is the protein in flour that gives the viscoelastic properties of dough. There are still inadequate understandings of the knowledge concerning gluten during the dough mixing and the unique properties that gluten posses.  Gluten production was examined in terms of quantity and quality of gluten.   Quantity of gluten was measured  in  terms  of  wet  and  dry  gluten  content.    Wet  gluten  content  was determined by weighing the gluten obtained from the dough washed under running tap water.   The wet gluten was dried using air oven drying method to obtain dry gluten content. In terms of quality, the gluten was analysed in terms of volume expansion, extensibility and rheological characterisation.   The volume expansionanalysis was performed by frying the wet gluten in hot oil at 170oC in deep fryer for15 minutes.   The volume of fried gluten was measured using mustard seed displacement method and the difference between the volume of fried gluten and the volume of wet gluten is measured as volume expansion of gluten.Key word : Gluten, rheological, wheat

Abstract

Composite are mixture difference materials or has more produces characterize and characterization it doesn’t produces in main materials. Resin polyester BQTN 157-EX are part of dominant (major) into composite the function as matrix and bentonite are part of not dominant (minor) into composite the fuction as filler. The first reseach for bentonite processed that source from material anorganic and hydrophilic characteristic was done. This examination was done with using tensile strenght equipment. The result showed, in 3,5% nanocomposite, mass of bentonite and 300 mesh of particle sizes produced a tensile strength of 197,57 Mpa, elongation of 24% and 0.80 Joule of Impact. This case more better if compared with virgin resin polyester, that produce 104,92 Mpa of tensile strenght, 13,32% of elongation and 0,21 Joule of Impact.Keywords : Poliester BQTN 157-EX, Composites, Mechanic Properties

Abstract

Minyak nilam selalu dihasilkan melalui proses distilasi, yang berasal dari tanaman semak yang dikeringkan, Pogostemon cablin Benth., yang termasuk kedalam keluarga Labiatae. Tanaman ini juga disebut sebagai P.patchouli Pellet.var.suavis Hook.F. Tanaman ini terdapat diberbagai belahan dunia, tetapi yang terbanyak terdapat di Indonesia, Malaysia, China dan Brazil. Aroma wangi dari minyak nilam sudah lama dikenal di daerah timur.Minyak Nilam memiliki cita aroma yang kaya akan kayu-kayuan dan hangat, hingga menjadi salah satu jenis tumbuhan minyak atsiri yang sangat diminati di dunia internasional. Dari keselurahan unsur yang membentuk minyak nilam, maka yang paling menghasilkan aroma wangi adalah patchouli alcohol, norpatchoulenol dan nortetrapatchoulol.Kata Kunci : minyak nilam, patchouli alcohol, norpatchoulenol dan nortetrapatchoulol

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of filler content on mechanical properties for polypropylene. There are  synthesis clay and  un-synthesis clay  used  as  filler  content. Different ratio  of  clay  was  d  in polypropylene to study which ratio have a better mechanical properties. The tensile test was carried out using INSTRON5565 and the maximum stress, strain, and modulus of elasticity observed. Results of the study showed that polypropylene/clay nanocomposite has a higher maximum stress compare to pure polypropylene and un-synthesis clay have a lowest. Besides that modulus of elasticity of specimen calculated and finds that it increased with increment filler content and strain did not affect by filler. The conclusion is synthesis clay filled into polypropylene will having a better material.Keywords: Nanocomposite, polypropylene, synthesis clay.

Abstract
