Abstract

Preschool age is a period of a child experiencing the early stage of self-development, influenced by both her/himself and surrounding environment. Playgroup is a very essential container in training children’s early stage of self-development to adulthood. It is strongly influenced by the design of the playgroup space. Good design of playgroup space will be able to optimize creativity and stimulates motoric nerves and children’s psychological side to keep learning, grow, and do activities. Creativity accompanied with intelligence and sense of responsibility is expected to make the child as excelent human being who is able to do original works and live in independence in the future.

Abstract

Today’s technology much influences people’s working environment. The current technology has created a working culture that is not rigid and conventional, but a flexible working environment, in terms of working site, how to work, and the products. A wireless office with its facilities is a breakthrough for both individual worker and teams in the modern era.

Abstract

Indonesia is a rich country of arts and cultures. Dayak culture is one example. Dayak community has distinctive and unique of culture, from art, social system, to belief system. Hudoq mask and dance are samples of the culture of East Kalimantan Dayak community which are not decorative shapes and motifs only, but also full of philosophical meaning and symbol of the community’s faith. The results of this study are very important to record the progress of Dayak culture from ancient to present time, as well as to preserve the high values of Dayak community, as Indonesian people. This study can be used as materials in further Indonesian culture studying and served as examples to the upcoming art design world.

Abstract

The research explored exhibition space designs, particularly the interior design elements such as circulation, lighting, and display techniques to find out whether the design elements corresponded the design principles and to find out which museum had the most ideal exhibition design that was able to deliver exhibition messages to the audience. The research applied qualitative method with case study approach in three museums in Jakarta, those were National Museums, Bank of Indonesia museum, and museum of Fine Art and Ceramic as case studies and qualitative data collecting methods through observations to get real-settings information. Data analysis and comparison of various interior elements shows that from the three case studies only Bank of Indonesia Museum has an integrated exhibition space using various interior elements; circulation and lighting design as well as display technique that support the success of a museum to deliver exhibition messages to their visitor. It can stimulate visitors senses visually, auditory, and kinetic.
