Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the learning of writing poetry based on students' work drawings as an effort to strengthen the literacy of high grade elementary students. The method used is literature review by analyzing several studies related to the topic of discussion, namely literacy, drawing in elementary school, and poetry in the elementary school curriculum. From the results of the study produced a synthesis that shows that in primary school, literacy development still pivots on literacy reading. The ideas generated based on studies are developing fun writing literacy learning through writing "Poetry Based on Artwork" with the main steps: (1) determining the theme of the picture; (2) theme exploration; (3) drawing activities; (4) list beautiful words based on the drawings made (prewriting); (5) composing a framework of poetry (drafting); (6) developing poetry (writing); (7) editing and improving poetry (revising editing); and (8) reading the final poem arranged based on pictures (publishing). This activity is expected to strengthen the literacy of high class students with learning that combines drawing, poetry, writing, and communicating writing results holistically and pleasantly.

Abstract

Abstract:. Learning is an effort to create conducive conditions for students to learn. Changes to theexisting curriculum in Indonesia provide a new paradigm of learning development. Learning inelementary schools now uses a pattern of organizing integrated thematic learning content at allgrade levels as if it were elementary. To strengthen the implementation of learning, various learningmodels can be utilized including think-pair-share and snowball trhowing and lesson studyapproaches. The purpose of this article is to examine the use of think-pair-share and snowballthrowing learning models in integrated thematic learning in elementary schools and the developmentof learning based on lesson study. Learning models and lesson study can be utilized to improve thequality of integrated thematic learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Online learning carried out in class IIIA of SDN Experimental 1 Malang City encountered problems in developing students' communication skills. The purpose of the study is to describe the application of the discovery learning model, and describe the improvement of students' oral communication skills with the application of discovery learning. The chosen method is classroom action research to improve the quality of learning through 2 cycles with 4 meetings. The results of the cycle 1 study showed that students' oral communication skills with discovery learning improved compared to the results when pre-action without the application of the model. Meanwhile, the results of students' communication skills again increased learning discovery learning at the end of cycle 2. Thus, the application of the discovery learning model can improve students' oral communication skills.
