This research only focuses on the problem of identifying the theory of mise-en scenes found in the Divergent movie and using the mise-en scene to explore the meaning of each scene in the movie. This study also aims to identify the theory of the mise-en scene that is seen and describe the elements of mise-en-scene to explore the meaning implicit in the Divergent movie. Divergent movies were analyzed using a data approach. The analysis was completed by referring to one object that is, analysis based on the theory of mise-en scene using elements contained in it. This research uses data collection techniques. This study uses two data sources. The first is Veronica Roth's Divergent movie as the main source. The second data source is literature review by searching, collecting, reading, and studying reference books, articles, or writings that have a relationship with this research. Based on this research, the researchers concluded that the Divergent movie contains elements of the mise-en scene of each scene in the film including, setting and property, costume, lighting, acting.

This study investigates the analysis of speech level found in Maduranese language in accordance with the study of sociolinguistics. The speech level highly correlates with language variety which becomes one of the issues in sociolinguistics study. The researcher also tried to find out the influencing factors of Maduranese speech level and language variety in it. Hence, this research belongs to qualitative research which applied descriptive qualitative method. The method of collecting data was document/literature review through particular documents that have relation with the analysis of this research. To enhance the result of analysis, the researcher also conducted interview with the native speakers of Maduranese language. The finding of this research revealed that language variety occurs in the speech level of Maduranese language. Further, there are three speech levels in Madura which has similar type with the speech level in Java such as ngoko, krama madya and krama inggil. This kind of variations are caused by its use among different social classes or status among the society.

Permasalahan pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di era revolusi industri 4.0 seperti sekarang terletak pada instruksi guru yang tidak jelas, media yang terbatas, input siswa yang masih rendah, dan ketidaktertarikan siswa terhadap mata pelajaran. Nilai-nilai karakter dan lokal generasi muda juga dianggap mulai terkikis dikarenakan perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat. Selanjutnya, cerita naratif lokal daerah juga kalah masif dibandingkan cerita naratif dari luar negeri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi bahasa Inggris siswa melalui teks naratif lokal dengan introdusir media pembelajaran berbasis Android sebagai wujud implementasi PPK (Penguatan Pendidikan Karakter). Analisis yang digunakan dalam riset ini adalah kualitatif yang diasosiasikan dengan berbagai metode, perspektif, dan pendekatan seperti metode Research & Development (R&D). Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan meliputi pengumpulan data, pendesainan data, pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis Android, validasi ahli, dan uji coba produk. Hasil kuesioner dan wawancara dari pengumpulan data hingga uji coba produk menunjukkan bahwa lebih dari 74% responden menyetujui dan terpuaskan dengan pengembangan media pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dengan contoh naratif lokal berbasis Android. Media pembelajaran tersebut digunakan untuk meningkatan kompetensi bahasa Inggris pada peserta didik, pengimplementasian PPK, dan pelestarian nilai lokal yang sarat akan pendidikan moral.

Covid-19 masih belum berakhir sedangkan proses pembelajaran di sekolah harus tetap berjalan demi generasi masa depan yang hebat. Banyak permasalahan dan kendala dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran jarak jauh agar terhindar dari Covid-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan sebuah desain produk berupa media atau bahan ajar yang dapat digunakan dalam Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh (PJJ) sebagai bentuk peningkatan kompetensi bahasa Inggris dan sosialisasi Covid-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode research & development (R&D). Penelitian dilakukan dalam beberapa tahapan seperti preliminary, pembuatan prototipe, validasi pakar, uji coba produk diambil dari beberapa sampel, hingga desain/produk aplikasi yang siap digunakan untuk membantu guru dan siswa dalam PJJ. Desain dan materi bahan ajar disesuaikan dengan hasil pengumpulan data pada tahap preliminary. Aplikasi android ini diujicobakan ke siswa dan guru dengan hasil memuaskan di atas 70% karena mudah digunakan berdasarkan hasil kuesioner yang dibagikan. Materi dan latihan sudah mewakili dari apa tujuan pembelajaran yang ada di kurikulum mengenai news item. Sosialisasi Covid-19 yang terintegrasi di dalam aplikasi pembelajaran tersebut digunakan sebagai informasi tambahan bagi siswa untuk menjalankan protokol kesehatan yang ketat. Sehingga siswa tahu tindakan apa yang perlu dilakukan dalam ranah keluarga, pertemanan, dan sosial agar terhindar dari Covid-19

Dialect reflects thedaily life of the speaker and becomes the local culture of the people who speak it. This journal contains of the description of a typical dialect of Javanese language in thevillage of Srinahan Kesesi district Pekalongan Central Java Indonesia from sociolinguisticspoint of view. There are many striking differences in dialect used by Srinahan villagers in theborder area of the district and become combination of eastern and western Javanese dialect. Nowadays, many people do not notice their sentences when they talk to others whether it is polite or not. Sometime, people use harsh word when they ask help to others. Even in conveying their purpose, they often use impolite sentence. They do not also regard their background, like status of their position, their social distance and the level of their needs. The polite words are usually conveyed by someone when the level of his or her need is high. But, the distance and position status are also the factor that determine someone to use polite or impolite sentence in the daily conversation, especially in conveying her or his need. Someone who does not have a close relationship, he or she will affect the sentences which are used. The sentences which are used will sound more polite than the sentences that used by them who have a close relationship. Because the closer someone’s relationship is, the harsher the sentences which are used. Even sometimes it sounds rude of and impolite. Someone’s position also affects the sentences which are used in speaking. The higher of the position is, the more polite of the sentences which are used. Otherwise, the lower of someone’s position or in the same position, the less polite the sentences which are used. According to this facts, the writer analyzes the difference of polite or impolite sentence in the daily conversation.The data which are used are primary data and secondary data. The methods which are used in getting the data are “metode simak, metode sadap, teknik simak bebas libat cakap, teknik rekam, and teknik catat”. In analyzing the data, the writer uses “metode agih”. Whilemethod of data presentation which is used by the writer is descriptive study with informal method.From the result of the research, it can be concluded that someone’s social distance and position really affects the sentences used and polite sentence in the daily conversation. A close social distance will make the sentences which are used sound less polite and rude. But, when the social distance is not close, it will make the sentences used sound polite and good. So in the position status, the higher of the position is, the more polite sentences used.Keywords: Politeness, Daily Convdersation, Social Distance, Close Relationship,Descriptive Study

Politeness is an important thing in communication because we need to understand someone’s feeling. The problem of this research is about politeness strategies on Cinderella (2015) movie consisting of bald-on record strategy, positive politeness strategy, negative politeness strategy, and off-record indirect strategy. The objectives of the study are to determine politeness strategies which are used by the character in Cinderella (2015) movie script to determine the factors that influences the choice of politeness strategies. The research methodhology is qualitative with observation and instropection. The result shows that the movie contains four politeness strategies in the conversation between the characters. The implementation of the revised edition of the Curriculum of 2013 in Indonesia for millennial generation students does not focus on increasing the competency of the subjects only, but rather on improving the character, especially independence. This research is based on the issue of whether there is a significant relationship between teaching materials based on ETG (Educational Technology Gadget) on improving the competence of students' IBC and English as well as differences in student achievement in English subjects taught on an ETG basis when compared with non-ETG. The objectives to be achieved in this study are to investigate and examine whether there is a significant relationship between ETG-based teaching materials on improving the competence of IBC and English students and to find out whether there are differences in student achievement in English subjects taught with ETG-based if compared to non ETG ones. The research method is R&D with a type of factorial design research sourced from quantitative experiments. Beyond literature studies, curriculum analysis, and surveys, research starts from pre-test, treatment, post-test, data collection and analysis which are then concluded as indicators of performance. In this article, the topic is about the impact from a broken family towards the children behaviour base on the novel RAINBIRDS. The goal of this research is to analyze it under the title “An Analysis on The Impact of A Broken Family Towards The Children’s Behaviour as Seen in Novel: Rainbirds”. In the analysis, there are two methods of research; firstly, library research then taking opinion from experts to support the idea. To get the data, structural approach is used because the discussion is about the structure of story such as character and characterization. It uses the theory of B.F Skinner about behaviorism and Sigmund Freud about Id, Ego and Superego to analyze deeply about the behaviour of the characters and find out about their personality that leads to their actions. From the discussion, based on the psychology theory mentioned, Ren Ishida is mostly superego type of person because he often does something good although he was id-driven caused from his childhood experience in his family. Rio Nakajima on the other hand, is mostly id-driven, she tends to do action as she please without realizing the impact of her action towards herself. Each character has their struggle. Each character is battling with their problem and reacts in a different ways. This story is very interesting because through the story we can learn more about the struggle children will endure if they have a broken family and how that problem impacts their life.

Indonesia is a country that has many regional languages. The diversity of regional languages is a characteristic of Indonesia. One of them is the Javanese language which is used by the Javanese people and has a variety of dialects. Therefore, the writer is interested in conducting research on the characteristics of the Javanese dialect of Blora in accordance with sociolinguistic studies that examines the relationship between language and its speaking community. This is similar to the writer aim to analysis the differences between Blora, Temanggung and Mojokerto dialect. The writer also analyzes the use of Javanese speech level used by the people of Blora. This is because there are still many people who do not know the geographical location of Blora City. In this study, the writer uses a qualitative descriptive method and the data collection methods needed to analysis the data are simak method and cakap method. The analysis results showed that there are characteristics of the Blora dialect and there are differences between Blora, Temanggung and Mojokerto dialect. It can be concluded that the variations of the three dialects have different morphology, phonology, lexical and semantics. This is due to the diversity of dialect differences from the results of regional observations.
