Abstract

Background: Carcinoma mammae is a cancer of thoracal region that most commonly found and suffered by women in Indonesia. Cancer patients may experience morbidity and psychiatric disorder. With rehabilitation, physical and psychological disorders which were caused by cancer could be reduced. This study aims to determine effects of medical rehabilitation towards stress level of post-surgical mammary carcinoma patients. Methods: This research is observational analytic study with cross-sectional approach. Subjects were patients who came to the clinic of Oncology and Medical Rehabilitation Installation of National Cancer Centre Dharmais. Research subjects were taken by purposive sampling technique. The research data were obtained through interviews using questionnaires. The collected data were statistically analyzed with Chi Square test using SPSS 17 software for Windows program. Results: From the research results, there is total 60 patients. Medium-category stress patients were 53 people, 25 people (47.2%) had never undergone medical rehabilitation, and 28 people (52.8%) had undergone medical rehabilitation. Severe-category stress patients were 7 people, 5 people (71.4%) had never undergone medical rehabilitation and 2 people (28.6%) had undergone medical rehabilitation. The results of calculations acquired a significance level of X²count is 0.228 > significance level of p = 0.05. Conclusions: Based on the result of statistical analysis, it can be concluded that there is no significant effects of medical rehabilitation towards stress level of post-surgical mammary carcinoma patients. Abstract

Background: Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) has been the main cause of child morbidity and mortality, includes upper ARI and lower ARI. Lower respiratory infection is the infection under of larynx, includes epiglotitis, croup (laryngotracheobronchitis), bronchitis, bronchiolitis, and pneumonia. The one risk factor of lower ARI is air pollution (if in the house use firewood to cook and/or cohabit with active smoker). Prenatal exposure to cigarette smoke will affect the morphogenesis of fetus lung so it will increase respiratory infection risk after the fetus is born. This research aims to find out how big the relationship between maternal passive smoking during pregnancy with lower acute respiratory infection. Methods: The research was an analytical survey with case control approach implemented in March-April 2013 in RSUD Dr. Moewardi Surakarta. The samples was taken using purposive sampling and the number of samples based on rule of thumb. Dependent variable in this research was lower acute respiratory infection and independent variable was maternal passive smoking during pregnancy. The parents of the sample signed informed consent as the consent form and filled the questionnaire. Medical records was required for obtained the data about diagnose and nutrition status of the samples. This research were obtained 60 samples and analyzed use bivariate analysis continued multivariate analysis with logistic regression test. Results: The research with bivariate analysis showed that maternal passive smoking during pregnancy and low birth weight infant were significant with p < 0.05. Crude OR maternal passive smoking during pregnancy was 5.688. By multivariate analysis with logistic regression test obtained adjusted OR = 4.000, p = 0.043 (p < 0.05), and 95% CI = 1.043-15.343 for independent variable maternal passive smoking during pregnancy. Conclusions: There was significant relationship between maternal passive smoking during pregnancy with lower acute respiratory infection of child (p = 0.043), at the risk of 4.000 times more likely to suffer lower ARI. Abstract

Backgrounds: The aim of the present study was to determine the difference of onset menopause between combined oral pills acceptors and non-hormonal acceptors in Jebres District, Surakarta. Combined oral pills contraception causes increased body fat so it can increase the estrogen production by the conversion of androstenedione in peripheral adipose, while non-hormonal contraception (Intra Uterine Device/IUD) does not have such a mechanism, but it may lead to perforation and Pelvic Inflamatory Disease (PID) which can damage women's reproductive organs. Methods: A cross sectional, observational analytic was conducted, in which the sampling technique was two stage cluster random sampling. The sample was 60 postmenopausal women aged 48-59 years old, consisting of 30 women as combined oral pills acceptors and 30 women as non-hormonal acceptors (IUD). This study was conducted in June-July 2014 in Jebres Districts, Surakarta. Data was analyzed by independent t-test by comparing the mean value of onset menopause of the two groups. Results: The results of the independent t-test showed a significant differences between the two groups with p = 0.026, t = 2.290, and 95% CI. The mean value of onset menopause of the combined oral pills acceptors is higher than non-hormonal acceptors (IUD). Conclusions: There are differences of onset menopause were statistically significant between the combined oral pills acceptors and non-hormonal acceptors in Jebres District, Surakarta. Combined oral pills acceptors had a mean onset of menopause is higher than non-hormonal acceptors. Keywords: onset of menopause, contraception, combined oral pills, non hormonal, IUD

The study was held in BBRSBD Prof. Dr. Soeharso, Surakarta. The samples are 60 people consist of 30 congenital and 30 non congenital disabilities. The independent variable is congenital and non congenital disabilities. The dependent variables are the level of anxiety and family support. Samples were measured about their L - MMPI, TMAS and family support score. The results were tested by t test. Results: Statistical analysis for the study of t test in TMAS score has p value = 0.984 (> 0.05 ) so there is no difference of TMAS score significantly between congenital and non congenital disablility groups. While p value of family support is 0.115 (> 0.05), so there is no significant differences of family support between congenital and non congenital disablility groups. Conclusion:There is no difference of anxiety level and family support significantly between congenital and non congenital people with physical disabilities in BBRSBD Prof. Dr. Soeharso, SurakartaKeywords: Disability, anxiety, family support
