Abstract

In underground coal mines, coal pillars play a major rule in sustaining the weight of the overburden and protecting the stability of the entries and crosscut during mine development and production, allowing the miners to safely extract the coal¹. The determination of a coal pillar size is adjusted to the expected load and strength of the coal seam. It needs to consider several factors such as pillar load (stress within the pillar), pillar strength, and safety factors. In this determination, an analysis will be conducted using five similar coal pillar strengths including; Obert-Duvall Equation (1967), Holland Equation (1964), Holland-Gaddy Equation (1956), Salamon-Munro Equation (1967), and Bieniawski (1983). Using AirLaya seam as an example, we can combine the results of various equations. The coal used in the Airlaya research area has a value of k = 425.75, thus the strength of Airlaya insitu seam coal is estimated to be 161,607 Psi.

Abstract

PT.XYZ melakukan kegiatan pembongkaran yang terdiri dari peledakan dengan metode tambang terbuka pada batuan andesit (Quarry). Peledakan akan menghasilkan fragmentasi batuan. Ukuran fragmentasi batuan hasil peledakan sangat penting untuk diperhatikan karena dapat menentukan keberhasilan sebuah peledakan. Design geometri peledakan yang kurang tepat akan menghasilkan boulder di atas standar perusahaan, yaitu 60 cm. Boulder yang terjadi harus dihancurkan lagi dalam alat peremuk batuan (crusher), oleh sebab itu boulder diusahakan sekecil mungkin ukurannya. Penelitian ini meredesign geometri peledakan dengan menghasilkan fragmentasi dengan menggunakan metode teoritis Kuz-Ram dan persamaan C.J Konya.

Abstract

In mining activities Rolas Nusantara Tambang Ltd. needs to do a slope stability analysis because at that location there has never been a study on the condition of the slopes. In addition, there are several problems that can cause unstable slopes such as slope geometry that is too upright, the presence of discontinuity fields and mining locations that are close to several active volcanoes in East Java, namely Mount Semeru and Mount Bromo so that the potential for earthquakes and vibrations is high and can be affect the stability of the slopes at that location. This study aims to analyze slope stability using the Janbu method in calculating the factor of safety and the Monte Carlo method for the probability of landslides. From the results of the study, the actual slope safety factor (FK) was 1.703 and the probability of landslide (PK) was 0.000% with a slope height of 12 meters and a slope of 850. Then recommendations were given for the overall slope with an overall height of 36 meters and an overall slope of 570, the factor value was obtained. safety (FK) of 2.170 and probability of landslide (PK) of 0.000%. From these results it can be concluded that the slope conditions are in the safe category.

Abstract

Dalam penentuan stabilitas lereng pada kegiatan penambangan, parameter sifat fisik dan kuat tekan uniaksial memiliki peranan penting dan saling berhubungan untuk rekayasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan conto batuan Andesit pada lokasi Tulungagung, Jawa Timur dengan tujuan mengkaji pengaruh parameter sifat fisik terhadap kuat tekan uniaksial dalam peranannya terhadap stablitas lereng. Metode penelitian meliputi uji sifat fisik, uji kuat tekan uniaksial dan pengolahan data di laboratorium. Dengan menggunakan metode statistik yakni regresi linear dalam analisis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan parameter sifat fisik yang paling berpengaruh terhadap nilai UCS adalah porositas dengan nilai R2 adalah 0,125. Sedangkan parameter kadar air akan mempengaruhi nilai modulus young dengan nilai R2 adalah 0,8532. Sehingga, kekuatan massa batuan akan meningkat apabila nilai porositasnya mengalami penurunan. Analisis dari penelitian dapat berkaitan dengan penentuan kekuatan massa batuan yang berpengaruh dalam merekayasa kemantapan lereng tambang (stabilitas lereng) pada lokasi penelitian.

Abstract

Kuat tekan uniaksial (UCS) dan sifat fisik batu merupakan parameter penting dalam mekanika batu. Metode penelitian menggunakan aktivitas lapangan dengan melakukan pengambilan sampel dan aktifitas laboratorium yaitu pengujian sifat fisik dan mekanik batu. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan batu andesit memiliki porositas dengan rata-rata 19,29%, bobot isi asli rata-rata 2,17 gr/cm3, bobot isi kering dengan rata-rata 2,06 gr/cm3 dan bobot isi jenuh rata-rata 2,25 gr/cm3, Kadar air rata-rata sebesar 5,55% dan derajat kejenuhan 58,63%. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian laboratorium maka dapat dianalisa dari hasil uji kuat tekan uniaksial yang dilakukan pada sampel batu A didapatkan nilai kuat tekan uniaksial sebesar 5.82 MPa. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian laboratorium maka dapat dianalisa dari hasil uji kuat tekan uniaksial yang dilakukan pada sampel batu B didapatkan nilai kuat tekan uniaksial sebesar 8.93 MPa. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian laboratorium maka dapat dianalisa dari hasil uji kuat tekan uniaksial yang dilakukan pada sampel batu C didapatkan nilai kuat tekan uniaksial sebesar 8.04 MPa. Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan batu di formasi yang sama memiliki kekuatan yang berbeda-beda.
