Abstract

The purpose of this research or the study was to improve students' reading comprehension skills. Classroom Action Research (CAR) has been used to adopt this research. The research includes five stages, namely preliminary research, preparation, implementation of plans, observation of results, and reflection of results. The research was conducted in three cycles, each cycle being tested for reading comprehension which aims to evaluate student learning outcomes. The subjects of this study were class VIIIC students of SMP Negeri 11 Malang 44 first semester students (2019/2020). The types of data in this study consisted of field notes, observation sheets, tests, and interviews. This type of data is used as the basis for evaluating student achievement in reading comprehension in each cycle. The result of the study showed the implementation of the Collaborative Strategic Reading (CSR) improved the students’ reading comprehension. As indicated by the increase in the average score of students and the percentage of students who achieve mastery learning to read comprehension descriptive texts in the post test given in three cycles (72 and 77% in the first cycle, 74 and 82% in the second cycle, and 78 and 86% in cycle III). The implementation of CSR in reading comprehension was effective in improving students' reading comprehension skill.

Abstract

Fenomena terorisme dan kekerasan berlatar agama sangat disayangkan terjadi di Indonesia yang menganut negara Demokrasi Pancasila. Dalam negara demokrasi seperti Indonesia, terorisme dan kekerasan demikian seharusnya tidak perlu terjadi. Seyogianya pemerintah mampu melindungi warganya agar bisa aman dan tenteram tak terganggu oleh tindakan teror macam apapun. Tidak selarasnya persoalan agama dan keyakinan harus diselesaikan dengan kekerasan. Sebab, di negara ini, kebebasan beragama dan berkeyakinan dijamin oleh undang-undang. Apalagi negara Indonesia merupakan negara hukum, sehingga, segala persoalan mestinya harus diselesaikan berdasarkan hukum yang berlaku.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity is to provide guidance and assistance in improving the quality of the Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School, Banbaru Village, Gili Genting Sumenep District. Guidance is needed to improve the quality of education Islamic Boarding School, considering that Islamic Boarding School are required to be educational institutions capable of producing quality students, both from an intellectual, religious and moral perspective, as well as being able to manage the potential that exists in the Gili Raja islands. Meanwhile, the Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School in the Gili Raja Islands, Banbaru Village, Gili Genting, is considered to have not been maximal in producing quality students. This is because management is managed very simply and traditionally, there is a lack of human resources for education and education personnel, a curriculum that is not well organized, and there is no skills education for students. Therefore, to improve the quality of the Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School, it is necessary to provide assistance and guidance by providing seminars on the urgency of education Islamic Boarding School in the contemporary era, training in curriculum preparation and training in management Islamic Boarding School, strengthening human resources (HR) for educators and education personnel, and providing entrepreneurial training. The hope of this mentoring and coaching service is that Nurul Huda Islamic Boarding School has insight into Islamic Boarding School reform, has a curriculum that is oriented towards meeting the demands and needs of the community, has good management, increases human resources for educators and education personnel, and implants an entrepreneurial spirit for teachers and students or protege.

Abstract

Corruption is an extraordinary crime in Indonesia that is contrary to the values of religious education. This study aims to explore anti-corruption education models based on religious ethics which are implemented in the pesantren of Annuqayah, Guluk-Guluk Sumenep. This study analyzes the roles of the pesantren of Annuqayah in building anti-corruption characters in students from an early age. The research was conducted at the pesantren of Annuqayah which is one of the oldest Islamic boarding schools in Madura. The study uses a qualitative method to elaborate anti-corruption education models based on religious ethics at the pesantren of Annuqayah, Guluk-Guluk Sumenep, Madura. Researchers used observation, interviews, and documentation in collecting research data. The study found that the anti-corruption education models applied in the pesantren of Annuqayah are role models, habituation of behavior, integration between subjects and behavior, and models of rewards and punishments. Meanwhile, the roles of Annuqayah pesantren in shaping the students’ anti-corruption character are building values of Aswaja (Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama’ah), establishing an honest canteen, giving trust to manage pesantren finances, and providing rewards and punishments. The research is valuable as feedback for the government in the field of education in its efforts to fight corruption in Indonesia.
