Abstract

Intensively land use for biomass production without applying sustainable and sustained plant farming technique in District Selo potentially causes soil damage. Determination of soil potential damage and soil damage status has been set by the central government through Government Regulation No. 150 year 2000 on Soil Damage Control for Biomass Production. The research method used was a descriptive survey with a stage-setting soil potential damage by overlay thematic maps and the determination of the status of soil damage using matching methods and relative frequency score. Results obtained in the land area of the District Selo potentially medium damage 1,439.3 hectares and 1,988.8 hectares of high potential damage. After survey and laboratory analysis of soil samples at the site results that the Status of Soil Damage categorized light (R.I) with a score relative frequency of each 8. Total area that included minor damage divided into 3,296.97 hectares with limiting factors texture and permeability and 59.32 hectares with limiting factors permeability.

Abstract

This research conducted to determine the exact formula and dosage to increase the uptake of N and increase yield of green mustard. The research conducted at Jumantono dryland research center, Karanganyar and Laboratory  of Chemistry and Soil Fertility, Faculty of Agriculture UNS Solo. This study uses a randomized complete block design (RCBD) using 5 formulas as the first treatment factor and 4 dosages as second treatment factor. The data analysis used F test level of 5% and if significant continued by DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test) level of 5%. The variables of this research were weight of wet stover, weight of dry stover, N total and absorption of N. The results showed that the combination of dosage and formula of natural fertilizers can increase N uptake and yield of mustard on the ground Alfisols.

Abstract

Erosion is the main factor causing  land degradation in area of planting vegetables dominated by Andisol soil. Andisol soil contains more fraction of dust so it is easily transported by runoff. This study aim to determine the influence of mulching corn stem with a terrace strengthen (Vetiveria zizanioides, Coix  lacryma-jobi  L., Panicum muticum, Annona squamosa) to surface runoff, erosion, growth and result of plant (red lentils, cabbage and white lentils) in Andisol soil. This study uses a randomized complete block design with four (4) treatment and repeated three (3) times as a group so that there are twelve (12) experimental unit. The grouping based on kinds of plant that are cabbage, red lentils and white lentils. The results showed that MS4 treatment (mulch corn stem twelve (12) ton/ha with panicum muticum+ Annona squamosa as terrace strengthen) produces smallest of surface run off, erosion and dry weight of weeds, increased growth and canopy and increased crop yields 40.27% of red lentils, 57.10% of cabbage and 14.54% of white lentils.

Abstract

Land used in agriculture plays an important role in supporting the production of biomass. Destruction of land for biomass production is changing the nature of the soil that exceeded the standard criteria of soil damage. Mapping of land degradation status is useful to know the condition of the soil and tillage correct action. This study was conducted using a survey in the Subdistrict Cepogo Regency Boyolali. Existing data will be scoring and macthing with standard criteria for biomass production ground damage that Government Regulation No. 150 of 2000. Analysis of the data shows that there is no damage land area covering 744,1 Ha (13,7%) and there are areas relatively lightly damaged by parameters of degradation status, namely the composition of the fraction covering 494,4 ha (9,1%), the degree of release of water parameters covering 294,4 ha (5,4%) and a combination of parameters fraction composition and the degree of release of water covering 1.813 Ha (33, 4%).

Abstract

Soil deterioration for biomass production caused by soil processing out of control and that can make the soil quality become decrease. The research aims to map out soil potention and status for biomass production as a reference for government in Padas sub-district to preserve and repair soil quality. The research aims to map of potention and status of soil deterioration as a reference for government in Padas sub-district, so they can preserve and repair soil quality. This research was conducted using a survey method, with observations, take the soil samples for laboratory analyses and then scoring and matching from result of analyses to determine soil status . The result of this research showed Parameters contributing to soil damage in Kecamatan Padas are permeability in all unit of land maps, texture parameters in unit of land maps 2, 3, and 4, then soil redox parameters in unit of land maps 3 and 5. This is because the soil texture has a high klei content so that the ability to withstand high water which causes low permeability values and soil conditions that are water-saturated or inundated will result in a low soil redox value or <200 mV. Padas sub-district Ngawi regency is include into minor damage status or RI with 5 total score based on the Government Regulation No. 150 of 2000.

Abstract

Land degradation causes increase erosion on agricultural land. Andisol soil contains more fractions sand making aggregate easily dispersed. Soil loss due to erosion can lead to nutrients loss needed by plants. Corn stem mulching to reduce erosion and runoff.Corn stem mulch can be combined with terrace strengthen to decrease surface runoff and erosion. The study used randomized block design with 4 treatments and repeated 3 times as a block so that there are 12 experimental unit. Category of group iscabbage, red lentils and white lentils. The results showed that corn stem mulch 12 ton-1ha with kalanjana + annona able to reduce 4,5% of surface runoff, erosion 15,5%.Corn stem mulch 4 ton-1ha with Vetiverazizanioides+Annona squamosa as terrace strengthen withSER (Sediment Enrichment Ratio) has a (C-organic = 0,94; N-total = 1,04; P-total = 2,21; P-available = 1,40; K-total of 0,87; K-available 0,73) and suppresses loss nutrients in the Andisol soil.
