Abstract

This research tries to find out a direct translation procedures of a bilingual children story book entitled Bonnie dan Perayaan. This research is a qualitative research. The source of data is the bilingual book entitled Bonnie dan Perayaan that contains of 23 pages. The result shows that literal translation is the most dominant direct translation procedure used in bilingual children storybook Bonnie dan Perayaan.  There are 76.2% translated with literal procedure, and 23.8% translated with borrowing procedure. Literal translation becomes the most dominan number because this makes the TL version has closest structure and style as used in the SL.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a literature review regarding the effectiveness of using digital-based English teaching materials for midwifery students. The research method used in this research is the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. Data collection was carried out by documenting articles that had similar research. The articles used were 9 national journals indexed by Google Scholar over the last ten years. Based on research, it was found that digital-based English teaching materials for midwifery received a positive response, were appropriate, interesting, effective and efficient but were not widely used. It is hoped that this research can provide additional knowledge for ESP English lecturers, especially in the field of midwifery, so that it can increase the creativity and quality of lecturers in making English teaching materials for midwifery students. This research clarifies, outlines and describes previous research regarding the effectiveness of digital media in the use of English language teaching materials for midwifery students. Based on the research conducted, no one has carried out this research.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the need of midwifery students for developing digital based English for midwifery teaching materials. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire to analyze the needs for developing digital teaching materials which was developed based on analysis indicators at the ADDIE development model stage. The questionnaire was analyzed using descriptive analysis based on the results from respondents which included (a) learner characteristics (b)resources analysis, and (c)learning objectives. Based on the results of the needs analysis, it was found that the analysis of learner characteristics showed that 87.03% of students had knowledge of the use of digital teaching materials in learning, 94.44% of students had a positive view of the use of digital teaching materials in learning, 100% of students had the habit of using digital resources in daily life, 100% of students have an interest in using digital teaching materials in learning, and 94.44% have an interest in digital teaching materials to foster learning independence. Meanwhile, the results of resource analysis show that 87.03% of students know that the substance of teaching material content is available in journals, books and sources related to lecture material, 100% of students have laptops/gadgets that can support the use of digital teaching materials, and 100% of students have an understanding of the use of digital technology in learning. Meanwhile the result of the learning objectives showed that in general students have a tendency to be interested in digital teaching materials.
