Abstract

Information of original plants of Citrus reticulata Blanco ssp Tawangmangu is necessary to support breeding programs and efforts of conservation, since its massive population decreased because of CVPD infection in 1980s.This research was done in four villages in Kecamatan Tawangmangu: Banaran, Kalisoro, Blumbang, and Gondosuli by means of counting the plants with the right habitus and interviewed with the owner concerning its history. Geographical and morphological data were collected. Morphological data were analyzed by means of hierarchial cluster analysis. The result pictured as dendogram showed that 22 accession of original Citrus reticulata Blanco ssp Tawangmangu in 10 cultivation plot (9 plot in Blumbang and one plot in Gondosuli) were clustered in six groups, with 81,25% similarity. Informasi mengenai induk jeruk keprok asli Tawangmangu (Citrus reticulata Blanco ssp Tawangmangu) sangat diperlukan untuk mendukung program pemuliaan dan upaya konservasi tanaman tersebut, mengingat hampir punahnya jeruk keprok Tawangmangu akibat penyakit CVPD tahun 1980-an. Persebaran dan keberadaan tanaman induk jeruk keprok asli Tawangmangu merupakan hal penting sebagai dasar awal konservasi dan pengembangan tanaman tersebut. Penelitian dilakukan di empat desa di Kecamatan Tawangmangu, yaitu di Desa Banaran, Kalisoro, Blumbang, dan Gondosuli dengan menyusur area dan mendata keberadaan tanaman induk tersebut dengan melihat habitus, yang diperkuat wawancara dengan petani pemilik tanaman tersebut untuk mengetahui asal tanaman. Selanjutnya dicatat data lokasi dan morfologi dari tanaman. Data ini kemudian digunakan untuk analisis gerombol (cluster analysis). Selanjutnya pengelompokan ditampilkan dalam bentuk dendogram. Penelitian menghasilkan 22 aksesi induk jeruk keprok Tawangmangu yang tersebar dalam 10 plot penanaman di dua desa, yaitu Desa Blumbang dan Gondosuli. Analisis kelompok terhadap 22 aksesi induk jeruk keprok Tawangmangu memiliki tingkat kemiripan 81,25% dan menghasilkan enam kelompok aksesi.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat melalui pemberdayaan potensi masyarakat dengan pelatihan pembuatan kuliner berbasis Olahan Singkong (Olasi) dan budidaya jamur di Kelurahan Wonosari, Kecamatan Ngaliyan, Kota Semarang ini berangkat dari keprihatinan akan kondisi masyarakat di kelurahan Wonosari, Kecamatan Ngaliyan, Kota Semarang yang sebagian berada pada tingkat ekonomi yang menengah ke bawah dan berprofesi sebagai buruh pabrik. Limitansi kondisi masyarakat adalah keterbatasan lahan untuk dikembangkan, namun memiliki potensi berupa waktu luang dari sebagian warga masyarakat, khususnya ibu-ibu yang dapat dimanfaatkan. Pelatihan pembuatan kuliner berbasis olahan singkong (Olasi) dan budidaya jamur dirasa tepat untuk mengatasi permasalahan masyarakat karena keahlian tersebut dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat, cukup mudah untuk diaplikasikan, dan tidak membutuhkan lahan yang luas untuk pengembangannya. Pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan pembuatan kuliner Olasi dan budidaya jamur dilakukan dengan harapan dapat memberikan keterampilan dan sebagai akibatnya meningkatkan kondisi sosial ekonomi masyarakat Wonosari. Selain budidaya jamur sebagai keterampilan, masyarakat juga dikenalkan dengan berbagai olahan dari bahan baku jamur yang akan meningkatkan daya jual dan daya simpan jamur sebagai produk hasil budidaya jamur. Berbagai produk Olasi dan olahan jamur ini kedepannya akan dikembangkan lebih lanjut sebagai modal untuk pengembangan destinasi wisata kuliner yang didahului dengan penataan wilayah dan lingkungan.

Abstract

The independent food movement has become a global issue. Fulfillment of food for every household is a goal as well as a target for food security in the region and nationally. This can be done from strengthening food security at the family level by realizing family food independence. Family food independence is carried out by utilizing the yard of the house. The problem occurs when the yard area is decreasing. The narrowness of the land resulted in the interest and attention of residents to continue the culture of utilizing the yard is decreasing and even being forgotten. To overcome this, a systemic and systematic strategy is needed to revive the culture. Re-actualization efforts are needed to revive the culture of planting in the yard. PkM activities aim to improve the socio-economic conditions of the residents by setting aside a little time and energy to cultivate the yard into a source of family food security. The activity was carried out in Prambatan Lor Village, Rt 05 Rw I, Kaliwungu sub-district, Kudus district. Stages of activity: 1) site survey/licensing, 2) theoretical training 3) practical training and 4) monitoring and evaluation. The results of the monitoring carried out showed that the vegetables were starting to grow, while the catfish were in the growth stage. The results of the interview partners felt happy to get new knowledge and were helped in using the yard as a sustainable food house.

Abstract

Some bacteria that live on body surfaces such as Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa can be pathogenic to human. These bacteria are known to be resistant to certain antibiotics. Therefore, it is necessary to develop other alternative materials as safe antibacterial agents. One of the natural ingredients that have potential as antibacterial is citrus leaf. The aim of this study was to determine the inhibitory power of citrus leaf extracts from three types of citruses (Citrus nobilis, Citrus sinensis, and Citrus maxima) against the growth of S. aureus and P. aeruginosa bacteria. This study used the paper disk diffusion method with a percentage of 12.5%, 25%, and 50% of the extract dissolved in 2% carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC). The negative control used 2% CMC, while the positive control used the antibiotic ciprofloxacin. The results showed that the antibacterial activity of the three extracts was significantly different from the negative control, but the activity between the three types of citrus leaf extract was not significantly different. C. nobilis leaf extract with a concentration of 50% had antibacterial activity to Staphylococcus aureus relatively higher than the other two citrus leaf extracts, while in P. aeruginosa, the antibacterial activity of C. maxima leaf extract was relatively higher than other citrus leaf extracts. These results indicated that citrus leaves extracts from C. nobilis, C. sinensis, and C. maxima had inhibitory effects on S. aureus and P. aeruginosa growth.
