Abstract

In improving the quality of education by teaching, it is the thing that has the greatest effectiveness. Because of a good and appropriate teaching method, it is likely to increase the absorption of knowledge for students, so that the quality of knowledge from students increases. There are several ways to improve the quality of teaching, one of which is to know the learning styles of these students. Methods to determine learning styles such as Visual Auditorial Kinesthetic (VAK), Learning Style Inventory, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and others, but in this study using the Learning Style Inventory (LSI) introduced by David Kolb. To see the Learning Style of each student, an online questionnaire was held. Respondents in this study were online students of the Mohammad Husni Thamrin University Informatics Engineering Study Program with 50 students as respondents. By using the Linear Regression model, it shows a significance value of 0.02 which is less than 5%, so the analysis can be continued. On the other hand, the results are based on the value of R Square, which is 0.099 or 0.1, where it is the Coefficient of Determination or it can be interpreted that the LSI Value Variable has the ability to influence 10% of the Student Value Variable.

Abstract

Environmental education is one of the important aspects of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based elementary school learning. The use of learning media for e-learning implementation requires HOTS-based evaluation. This study aims to perform analysis related to HOTS and the utilization of e-learning in elementary school (SD). The method used in the research is the descriptive method with a survey as the data collection technique. The research instrument is in the form of a test question to measure HOTS based on Anderson’s taxonomy and Ichsan’s taxonomy. The second instrument employed is a questionnaire containing questions related to learning and various obstacles in e-learning. The research finds that the average HOTS score of elementary school students measured using Anderson’s taxonomy is 2.58; whereas, those measured with Ichsan’s taxonomy is 2.27 for all items. The HOTS measurement results using both taxonomies have some differences and one of them is in the C6 realm (create versus develop). The measurement results using the questionnaire suggest that WhatsApp is the frequently-used learning media (65.97%). Moreover, the most ideal learning duration according to the students is less than 3 hours (67.36%). The utilization of learning media become an important matter in the implementation of e-learning to enhance elementary school students’ HOTS. Serial books are an alternative solution so that students can understand environmental material well. The research concludes that differences in HOTS scores occurred between those measured with Anderson’s taxonomy and Ichsan’s taxonomy. Learning media to be further developed should be HOTS-based

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to improve the quality of the process and learning outcomes of writing explanatory texts at SDN Nurul Jihat Pemepek Village using the inquiry method. The method used is quantitative research that leads to class action. The techniques used in this study through tests, observation and documentation. In this study, the application of the inquiry method can improve the ability to write explanatory texts using the inquiry method in class VI students at SDN Nurul Jihat Pemepek Village, Indonesia in the 2022/2023 academic year. Learning outcomes were marked by an increase in the number of students who reached the mastery limit in the ability to write process explanation texts, namely (a) in the first cycle of 60.39%, (b) in the second cycle the learning mastery results were obtained by 71.42%, and (c ) in cycle III the results of learning completeness were 79.75%.

Abstract

Students' engagement and passion for studying are shaped by their areas of interest. But the fact is that pupils still show very little enthusiasm for studying. Our goal in creating this medium is to provide fourth graders with a high-quality instructional film that will supplement their social studies curriculum. Using the six steps of the ASSURE model—which include student analysis, establishing learning objectives, selecting methods, media, and materials, implementing the model, encouraging student participation, and finally, evaluation and improvement—this learning video media was developed. Students in fourth grade at SDN Pakis V were the topic of this educational film. The creation of this video medium was deemed suitable for use in the fourth grade social studies curriculum. This is derived from the validation findings of specialists in the field of media and materials, as well as students working alone, in small groups, or in big format. The efficacy of this learning video medium was assessed using a posttest after expert and student testing. Students were able to get outcomes higher than the designated KKM when tested using this learning video medium. As a result, creating educational video content is a fruitful endeavour.
