Abstract

The objectives of the study is to determine the effect of EM-4 and Urea addition on the liquid Bokashi quality of chicken manure. The field research was conducted at California Papaya Farm Pulau Sari, Pelaihari, and the nutrient levels of liquid Bokashi are then analyzed in the laboratory of PPLH Banjarbaru. The research was conducted from February to March 2015. It used Complete Randomized Design (CRD) of factorial pattern 2 with three levels of treatment and three replications, the first factor is the addition of urea, consisting of three levels those are 0 g, 7.5 g, 15 g, the second factor is the addition of EM-4, consisting of three levels those are 0 ml, 25 ml, 50 ml, so that the number of trial units becomes 27 units. The variables measured are the Levels of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorous (P), Potassium (K), C-Organic, temperature, pH, color, smell, and texture. Quantitative observation data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT), while the qualitative observation data were analyzed using Kruskal-Wallis test. The results showed that the interaction between the addition of EM-4 and Urea were able to increase levels of nutrients N, P, K, C-Organic, and the temperature of the liquid Bokashi. Overall obtained treatment provision of EM-4 25 ml and 15 g Urea is the best treatment among other treatments. The addition of EM-4 was able to increase the levels of N, K, C-Organic and liquid Bokashi temperature, but it is unable to increase levels of the element P. Giving Urea can increase the levels of nutrients N, P, K, C-Organic, and the temperature of the liquid Bokashi. In observation of the organoleptic treatment with the addition of EM-4 and Urea, it tends to produce materials with better color, smell, and texture than the control treatment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the content of borax and Escherichia coli on meatballs snacks and the factors that affect the food security of meatballs snacks by using Easy Method of Borax Test and Method of Most Probable Number (MPN) for Escherichia coli bacteria contamination. This research was conducted in Banjarbaru on 5 villages, and sampling technique used is stratified sampling. The results of the study showed that from 32 samples taken from five village location, it was not identified any borax based on PERMENKES No. 033 of 2012, while for the examination of Escherichia coli, there are 14 samples of meatballs (43.75%) which were eligible, and 18 samples of meatballs (56.25%) which containEscherichia coli ranges from 3.6 to 62 CFU /g or not meeting the criteria of ISO 7388: 2009. The factor that might not trigger the addition of borax is that the traders have a good knowledge and attitude toward borax which regarded as a toxic substance and can be harmful to health. Factors that cause microbial contamination of Escherichia coli on meatballs snacks is the lack of food hygiene and sanitation in the food processing, cooked food storage, transport, serving, sanitation facilities, and personnel handlers compared with the good supply of foodstuffs and food ingredients storage.

Abstract

Has conducted a study entitled " Cow Manure Waste Utilization and Straw Peanut For Liquid Bokashi For Plant Growth mustard (Brassica juncea L.)". This study aimed to analyze the nutrient content in the liquid Bokashi is derived from cow dung and straw peanuts, and study the effect of dosing Bokashi different liquid to the growth of the mustard plant (Brassica juncea L.). Methods using a completely randomized design with one factor at a dose of 125 ml, 250 ml, 375 ml and 500 ml, and as control using Bokashi solid. This research was conducted with four replications. Bokashi liquid nutrient content of C of 0,1045%, 0,0461% of N, P and K amounted to 0.0172% at 0.2500%. The content of nutrient dense Bokashi C of 6,0874%, 2,0169% of N, P and K amounted to 0,0218% at 5,7802%. Bokashi dosing different liquid to the growth of mustard (Brassica juncea L.) significant effect on the growth of mustard, but still lower than the solid Bokashi. Dose liquid Bokashi most optimal for growing mustard (Brassica juncea L.) is at 375 ml.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effects of the provision of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), the provision of lime, and the provision of NPK fertilizer, and the interaction effect of the provision of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), lime and NPK fertilizers in promoting the growth of pinto peanut in the soil media of post-mining land. The research method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) three-factor factorial with the first factor is the type of inoculant FMA (M) = 3 levels, the second factor is the provision of lime (K) = 3 levels, and the third factor is the NPK fertilizer (P) = 3 levels. These results indicated that the interaction between AMF Glomus sp. and NPK fertilizer dose of 1 gram/polybag can increase height increase pinto peanut plants for 34.16 % of the controls. The interaction between AMF Gigaspora sp. The lime dose of 50 % Al-dd and Fertilizers NPK dose of 1 gram/polybag can increase the growth of leaves pinto peanut plants at 108.33 % of the controls. The interaction between AMF Glomus sp. and NPK fertilizer dose of 2 grams/polybag can increase canopy and root biomass pinto peanut plants at 245.21 % of the controls. The interaction between AMF Glomus sp. and NPK fertilizer dose of 2 grams/polybag can increase canopy and root biomass pinto peanut plants at 245.21 % of the controls. Level relative mycorrhizal dependency (RMD) was influenced by the type of AMF plant inoculated host. Highest RMD shown in pinto peanut using AMF Glomus sp. is 31.99% at moderately dependent.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to (1) analyze the effect of the activation of iron wood charcoal towards improving the quality of activated charcoal based on moisture content, ash content and adsorption I2, (2) analyze the effect of weight variation activated iron wood charcoal in the activated sludge effluent to temperature parameter, TSS, pH, BOD5, COD and Ammonia, as well as getting the weight ratio of optimum active iron wood charcoal toward activated sludge effluent.  The research design used a completely randomized design. The variation of weight variation of active charcoal from 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 g with 3 (three) repetitions. This Research was done at the laboratory of Badan Lingkungan Hidup Banjarbaru. The conclusion of this study was that the effect of the activation of ironwood charcoal towards improvement of the quality of activated charcoal were moisture content, ash content and adsorption I2 obtained before activation was 3,02%; 2,41% and 609 mg/g, while moisture content, ash contents and adsorption I2 after being activated were 2,88%; 2,02 % and 685 mg/g. The moisture content and ash contents had reached the quality standard of SNI 06–3730-1995, but the adsorption I2 not yet. The eEffect of weight variation activated charcoal ironwood in the effluent sludge to the temperature, TSS, pH, BOD5, COD and ammonia parameter based on F-test results were highly significant (p<0,01). The parameter of temperature and pH increased as the weight of activated charcoal ironwood increased. The parameter of TSS, BOD5, COD and ammonia decreased as the weight of activated ironwood charcoal. The Parameter that did not reach the quality standard were COD and Ammonia. Optimum weight activated charcoal ironwood active against effluent activated sludge of 6 g. Optimum weight activated ironwood charcoal obtained temperature, TSS, pH, BOD5, COD and ammonia. The values of each were  27,7 0C; 35,7 mg/L; 9,01; 44,2 mg/L; 108 mg/L and 15,2 mg/L.

Abstract

Danau Purun, Danau Jalan Pangen and Danau Kamipang are some of lakes located in Kamipang Sub-district, Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan. Those lakes are the places to make a living for local people in fulfilling their needs, especially of fish, which is still conducted effectively. However, the people generally tend to desire the business pattern directly giving the yield like capturing fish by using electricity and potassium. The excessive fish capturing business results in the decline of fish population. The objectives of the inventory were to find out the description of how many species of fish population which were alive or survived, and to analyze the water quality and aquatic plants as the supporting capacity of lake waters. The sample collections employed sampling methods on each lake, which were conducted in the morning and afternoon. The instruments and media were gill nets, fishing nets, lalangit, bubu and ancau. The fish sample and alcohol were 70% and 95%. The fish was identified and processed in tabulation. The water quality was measured by applying Horiba Water Checker U-10, Secchi dish and Laboratory Test.

Abstract

The method of activated sludge is a wastewater treatment method that utilizes microbial growth processes are suspended.  One of the microbes that play a role in wastewater treatment systems with activated sludge are bacteria. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of sampling time and the combination of retention time on levels of pH, BOD, TSS, H2S and turbidity effluent of beverage industry with waste activated sludge of tofu and identify the bacterial isolates obtained from the beverage industry wastewater treatment with activated sludge waste of tofu and to know the diversity of types of bacteria that play a role in it.  The diversity of bacteria identified in the beverage industry wastewater treatment by activated sludge are five types of Bacillus sp, Acinetobacter sp, Staphylococcos sp, Cardiobacterium sp, and Mycoplasma sp.  These bacteria are most likely a bacterium that plays a role in the degradation of the beverage industry wastewater. Activated sludge method, it is also able to improve water quality, especially for TSS parameter (<200 mg/l) and H2S (<0.05 mg/l).  Sampling time in the morning better than afternoon in the improvement of water quality parameters; for the retention time of 8 hours of sample treatment is better than 6 hours.  Thus, the retrieval time (morning, afternoon) and the retention time of wastewater samples generate all test parameters better than the control.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the water quality of Sungai Batang Alai. Water quality of physics and chemistry properties were analized in location of sand mining and without sand mining. Research conducted at Sungai Batang Alai Village Wawai District of South Batang Alai Hulu Sungai Tengah. Parameters of physical and chemical of water which analyzed were temperature, TSS, TDS, Debit, BOD, COD, DO, pH, Fe, and Mn. The sample were taken at 4 points with 3x replicatation. Status of water water quality were  determined by using STORET method, then the results were compared with status of river water quality status of Class I based on South Kalimantan Governor Regulation No. 5 of 2007 on the status of river water quality. The results showed that the sand mining activities negatively impact the water quality of the river Batang Alai than the location there are no sand mining. This can be seen by the river water quality status in the area before the sand mining in the category of Class I to Class III down to the location of the existing sand mining.

Abstract

The study on the growth and yield of three onion varieties in various population density planted in the marginal dryland in the District of Sungai Raya, the Regency of Hulu Sungai Selatan was conducted from December 2014 until March 2015, aiming at analysis the effect of the interaction of three onion varieties with three population density towards the growth and yield. This research used Split Plot Design arranged in random groups consisting of 2 treatment factors and 3 replications. The observation data were analyzed and continued with a further test using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5% significant level. The mainplot treatment used three onion varieties and a subplot with 3 spacing of 20 cm x 15 cm, 20 cm x 20 cm, and 20 cm x 25 cm. The research result shows that (1) there is not any interaction between varieties and spacing towards the plant height, number of bulbs, diameter of bulbs, fresh weight of bulbs, dry weight of bulbs, and growth rate (GR) of plants, and (2) there is an interaction between the application of Batu Ijo variety and plant spacing of 20 cm x 20 cm able to increase of onion production per hectare and production per plot.
