Abstract

Problems of development currently face a critical developmental stage which is related to how humans attempt to continue the development and bequeath a decent life for the survival of future generations (sustainable development). Development leading to the modernization and globalization tends to be exploitative and impacts on food insecurity considering the increasing number of humans, yet the environmental damage is also increasing due to the imbalanced construction. It is indigenous community of Kasepuhan Sinar Resmi that still upholds traditional values ​​underlying the whole system of social life. Indigenous community Kasepuhan Sinar Resmi has a life philosophy of Earth Mother, Sky Father, Land of the Queen. The philosophy of life underlies the system of indigenous community. Economic life of the community is integrated to the cultural values ​​followed. Economic system that is run based on the custom value is able to bring the community to meet the need of food independently, so this is said to ably achieve food sovereignty. Abstract

The aim of this research are to evaluate how far the Second Water Sanitation for Low Income Communities (WSLIC-2) project appropriate with empowerment concept and to evaluate effectiveness, relevance, and sustainability impact of WSLIC-2 project which implemented in Pangradin village. Empowerment concept that used to analyze WSLIC-2 project design and its implementation in field are 10 principles Community Driven Development (CDD). As a project which based on community, WSLIC-2 project design has appropriated with 10 principles of CDD. The principles of CDD which related to concept of plan and construction phase  has implemented well in the field. But, the principle who related with concept of maintenances phase not yet implemented well in field. In general, WSLIC-2 project that conducted in Pangradin village assessed quite relevance, but not fully effective and the sustainability is still questionable. Optimization activity of CLTS   and strengthening structure of UPS are implementable in order to create a sustainable WSLIC-2 project.

Abstract

Sektor pertambangan secara drastis merubah bentang alam pedesaan dan menggeser peran petani sebagai kelompok yang berdaulat atas agroekosistem. Perubahan yang terjadi serta merta menggiring pada terciptanya sistem penghidupan yang baru bagi petani. Sayangnya, dalam banyak kasus, situasi ini meminggirkan peran petani sebagai penyedia pangan komunitas. Petani tidak dapat secara cepat beradaptasi dengan transformasi bentang alam yang terjadi dan tetap bertahan pada model pertanian konvensional dengan produktivitas yang makin menurun. Campur tangan pemerintah harus hadir guna mengatur ekspansi pertambangan danmengembalikan kualitas hidup masyarakat sekitar tambang dalam berbagai dimensi.
