Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the effectiveness in using video to teach speaking.Among the problems came from the students themselves usually related to their age andintellectual development and also the differences in individual capability. A total of 35 studentsof 7A observed and tested by the teacher in their activeness and also their ability in producingthe expression after getting the video treatment. The result showed that the ability in speakinggiving instruction expression of the students improved after showing native video in producinginstruction expression.Keywords : video expression, media, speaking ability, giving instruction expression

Abstract

This society service is carried out using a free teacher website;www.k12lessonplans.com, in a form of training for teachers at SMP. H.Isriati Semarang. There are 15 teachers joining this training, which is heldon 14 ?óÔé¼ÔÇ£ 16 July, 2012, starting from 09:00 am - 02:00 pm. This trainingtakes place in the Computer Laboratory group and individual audience isconducted consecutively from 17 ?óÔé¼ÔÇ£ 21 July, 2012 and 23 ?óÔé¼ÔÇ£ 26 July startingfrom 02:00 ?óÔé¼ÔÇ£ 04:00 pm in the teachers?óÔé¼Ôäó longue at the school. This programis aimed to give the teachers knowledge and training, to implement onlineclassroom using the website. Abstract

In learning English, students are expected to master four essential skills, with each student typically needing to focus on improving their weakest area among these four. These skills encompass various sub-components, notably grammar and vocabulary. This research specifically targets vocabulary acquisition, acknowledging the unique challenges it presents in the learning journey. The study employs Kahoot as the primary instructional tool, as it closely aligns with modern educational practices. Some students lack proficiency in English and have never formally studied vocabulary. Consequently, this study aims to assess the effectiveness of Kahoot in enhancing students' vocabulary skills. The study involves 30 eighth-grade students and utilizes descriptive qualitative methods for data collection, which include observation, administering questionnaires, and conducting interviews. The findings indicate a positive impact of Kahoot on the learning process, particularly in vocabulary acquisition. Most students express agreement regarding the utility of using Kahoot as an alternative method to enhance their English learning, especially in the realm of vocabulary.
