Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that affect the less optimal management of Ulee Kareng Market, evaluate the role of market managers and provide better solutions to the management of Ulee Kareng Market. This research was using a qualitative method by both observation and interview, and also a quantitative method for the distribution of questionnaires. Numbers of respondents in this research were as many as 163 persons. The statistical analysis used in data processing consists of validity, reliability tests and statistics descriptive. The SPSS software was used to analyze data in this study. The result of factors analysis reveals that causing less optimal management are insufficient in utilizing available parking area, clogged drainage, scattered rubbish and lack of control of street vendors. Furthermore, the Strengths, Weakness, Opportunities, Threats (SWOT) analysis is conducted to explore strategy used in the market. The result from the SWOT analyze suggested for three alternative strategies: 1). Government of Banda Aceh City needs to plan to facilitate the needs of the market in terms of supporting facilities such as drainage, temporary garbage disposal and the traders’ needs of trading activities; 2) strengthen the role and function of market managers in improving services to the needs of traders and buyers in the market area; 3) increase market users awareness to actively participate in keeping, maintaining, and caring for the various facilities that available in the Ulee Kareng Market Area.

Abstract

Nowadays, a construction uses a lot of concrete with highly strong power that is needed to support materials supporting the construction. With the improvement of concrete technology nowadays it is possible that high quality concrete with the suppression of greater than 70 MPa. Aceh Province, which is located, at the most tip of Sumatera Island has a great number of natural resources and materials that can be used in order to make concrete. These available resources are used for making high quality concrete with the pressure of 70 MPa. This research is going to explore the characteristic of concrete mechanic comprises of the strength of its pressure, the strength of its tight pressure, the bow strength and the sliding strength that can be reached by using additional material of palm nutshell as an additife replacement as apart of concrete use and the variation of the variety of superplasticizer optimum percentage of Sikament LN, Sikament NN and Viscocrete-10 by rude aggregation with maximum measure is12 mm. its concrete is used as Portland concrete type I with vary kinds of superplasticizer by each maximum percentage of Sikament LN is 1%, Sikament NN 1,5% and Viscocrete-10 1,5 % . the factor of water concrete is 0,3 and the amount of palm nutshell dust as an aditif that is used is 10%. The value of pressure and tight breaking strenght, flexibility tight strengh and sliding strenght from third variaties of superplasticizer, namely Viscocrete-10 with the percentage is 1,5% having bigger valuecompred to Sikament NN 1,5% and Sikament LN 1,0%. In terms of testing hot hydration the result shows that the viscocrete – 10 has been able earlier to prevent hot hydration with value is 6 hour; 24oC compared to Sikament NN 8 hour; 240C and the kind of Sikament LN 78 hour; 250C.

Abstract

In the design of high and low-rise buildings, structural systems should consider the requirements of strength, stifness, and stability. The addition of bracing affects the stiffness of the structure of the building. In SNI 03-1729-2002 there is an Effective Length Method (ELM) method which only recommends first-order analysis with amplification factor. However, currently there is a new structural design regulation that is SNI 1729: 2015 which refers to the American Institute of Steel Contruction (AISC 2010) where the steel structure stability planning has taken into account the second-order effect directly. This study aims to compare the application of Direct Analysis Method (DAM) and Effective Length Method (ELM) on 2D simple structure, where the comparison of both methods is focused on stress ratio value, which aims to determine more effective and efficient method in designing of braced steel frame structure. The difference values of stress ratio obtained in this study varies from 0.1 to 8.9%, where the value of DAM stress ratio is smaller than ELM. Comparison between the two methods shows that DAM is a more effective method and results in higher profile capacity than ELM.

Abstract

The utilization of high strength concrete particularly on construction is an option in structural elements. High Strength Concrete (BMT) is a compressive strength exceeding 6000 psi or 41 MPa. High quality concrete can be obtained by mixing superplasticizers (high range water reducers) and cementitious mineral additives in the form of fly ash, pozzofume (super fly ash), and microscopy (silicafume). In this study, it will used the substitution of cement material using coal fly ash, fly ash pozzolan sand and palm shell ash fly ash, fine aggregates using pozzolan sand, coarse aggregates palm shell. The aim of this study is to compare the shear behavior of normal high quality reinforced concrete beams and beams with the addition of material substitution. The high quality reinforced concrete beam specimens were designed to experience shear failure by strengthening the bending area. Reinforced concrete beam specimens of beam size 150 mm x 300 mm x 2200 mm with shear reinforcement diameter 6 mm (fy) 423.46 MPa, compressive reinforcement 16 mm (fy) 412.39 MPa and tensile reinforcement 19 mm (fy) 462, 24 MPa. The beam specimen is pure flexural tensile strength with a size of 150 mm x 150 mm x 600 mm and a cylindrical specimen with a diameter of 150 mm x 300 mm in height. The magnitude of the flexural tensile strength for BMT-N with f cc = 44.4 MPa is 4.5, and for BMT-FBPP with f cc = 51.04 MPa which is 5.35 with FAS 0.3. The results of the two beams experienced shear failure, with a comparison of laboratory and theoretical shear capacity of 2,292 BMT-N with a maximum load of 27,200 MPa, BMT-FBPP 1,720 with a maximum load of 21,410 MPa. The values of deflection and ductility tend to decrease in BMT-FBPP beams which are equal to 19.780% and 6%.

Abstract

Along with the construction development which is not symmetrical and both the column and the beam made small then the torsion load highly affect the building structure. The torsion load often occurs in the building components such as beam, column and the joint of column and beam. The loads of floor plates and small beam will create a torsion moment on the certain beam. Earthquake can cause dangerous torsion force in all elements of building constructions. Like the load outside the center of the mass in which the torsion stress can be very high. This research aims to find out the torsion capacity on hybrid high performance concrete beam element in which the hybrid high performance concrete using additive alternative materials, by using 7 test objects variations, the size of the test objects used is 20 x 25 x 120 cm3 and the test done for 28 days of concrete period. From the test output obtained  that the highest torsion moment found out in Test object number 6 (BU6) using pozzolanic fly Ash (10%) + fine aggregate of the sand pozzolan (10%) + coarse aggregate of  palm kernel shell (40%) + Nano material filler of iron ore as 10.4 kNm. The highest torsion angle is also created on BU6 as 0,0246 rad. The concrete performance highly affects the torsion strength, the highest concrete performance is found out from BU6 which is 59,48 MPa.

Abstract

Teuku Nyak Arief road corridor is a secondary arterial road that is included in the planned pattern of protected area and cultivation area (City of Banda Aceh Qanun Number 2 of 2018). The use of space along the Teuku Nyak Arief road corridor was found by several misuse of the activity function. In this case the protected area has the blame for the function of restaurants/cafes in the non green open space zone, and in the cultivation area there is a misuse of the function of the processed metal product industry, and the wood industry in the trade and service zones. This study aims to identify the suitability of space utilization in the Teuku Nyak Arief road corridor, the form of spatial planning in the corridor desired by the building owner, and the policy in controlling space utilization so that the corridor is in accordance with the spatial detail plan. This study uses quantitative methods through questionnaires and qualitative methods through observation and interviews. The level of suitability of space utilization reviewed is the classification of unauthorized space utilization activities (X). Respondents were addressed to the building owners located in the Teuku Nyak Arief Banda Aceh road corridor with 87 people. Spatial utilization in the corridor of the river border subzona, funeral subzone, green belt subzona, education subzone, sports subzone, non green open space zone, and defense and security subzone have a suitability level of 100%, city park subzone has a suitability level of 0%, Trading sub-zones and series services have a suitability level of 99%, and office zones have a suitability level of 57%. The dominant form of spatial planning desired by the building owner in the spatial planning aspect is that regulations need to be prepared by involving the community, in the aspect of spatial planning development is the existence of media in socialization, while in the spatial implementation aspect is the loss caused by the cancellation of permits can be requested proper loss to the licensing agency. The policy in the control model of spatial utilization is through the imposition of administrative sanctions, and proper compensation.

Abstract

The increasing growth of the city of Banda Aceh, the more it requires urban space to grow.  The rapid development of the city of Banda Aceh has an impact on the border area of the administration of the Aceh Besar District. Collaboration between regions with Aceh Besar District can be an alternative to address the problem of limited land in Banda Aceh City in addition to regional expansion policies. The aim of the study was to formulate an institutional and planning model for the collaboration between the comprehensive Banda Aceh – Aceh Besar. This research is a descriptive study using a combination research method and spatial synergism analysis approach. Processing data using the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) methodThe results of the research are based on the perceptions of expert respondents in the Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar District areas, in accordance with AHP analysis. It can be concluded that the main cooperation barrier in forming cooperation is regional authority with the form of cooperation chosen to accommodate the cooperation process of Cooperation Agency of Banda Aceh city - Aceh Besar District. The Banda Aceh City - Aceh Besar District cooperation agency is an organization in the form of an institution consisting of representatives from Banda Aceh City and Aceh Besar District. Furthermore, the direction of the development plan for land use cooperation was carried out in three sub-districts of Aceh Besar District, namely Krueng Barona Jaya District, Ingin Jaya District, and Darul Imarah District with three land use classifications, namely, housing, trade and services.

Abstract

Peunayong area is a trade and service area, as well as a heritage tourist area located in Kuta Alam Subdistrict, Banda Aceh City. Since it was inaugurated in 2007 until now Peunayong Vegetable and Fruit Market is not working properly. Traders only want to sell on the first floor, and along the corridor of RA road. Kartini, while the second and third floors are not occupied. In addressing the issue, the Banda Aceh City Government seeks to relocate the Peunayong Market to an integrated market in Lampulo, which is currently under construction. This study aims to identify the factors that cause traders not to occupy the market building of Peunayong Vegetables and Fruits, to identify buyers' perceptions of relocation of Peunayong Vegetable and Fruit Market, and to evaluate the physical, non-physical, and Peunayong Vegetables Market. This research uses qualitative method through observation and interview, and quantitative method through questionnaires distribution. Respondents in this research are 70 traders, and 100 buyers. The results showed that the factors that caused the traders did not occupy the Peunayong Vegetable and Fruit Market building were the buyers did not want to rise to the 2nd floor, the lack of good accessibility for traders and buyers, the constraints of goods circulation, and the number of kiosks and stalls not enough to accommodate all traders. The buyer's perception of the market relocation effort of Vegetables and Peunayong Fruits is built a new market building that can accommodate all traders, have complete public facilities, and designs that follow SOP Kemendag. Evaluation of Peunayong Vegetable and Fruit Market building on the physical component, generally not in accordance with the prevailing regulation with 36.84% level of conformity

Abstract

The disaster phenomenon has encouraged regions to rearrange community life including in Aceh Besar district which is an area affected by earthquake and tsunami. Nowadays the government concern to handling a natural disaster by constructing the Temporary Evacuation Shelter (TES). Therefore, this study aiming at gaining society perception of TES, and determining the main factor and the strategies on the use of TES. The benefits are to provide information and input to the Government and the management of TES. Quantitative and qualitative methods were used in this study. The questionnaire was distributed to the target respondents as much as 233 questionnaires. Furthermore, Focused Group Discussion (FGD) held by invited society figure and stakeholders to obtain the strategies of the use of TES. Results from the analysis questionnaire data indicate that people secured with the existence of TES. The main factor is the availability of TES facilities. The conclusion from FGD is introducing TES early by including disaster curriculum in school, developing local wisdom from good habits that is preparing a family mitigation planning. Moreover, the BPBD Aceh Besar should be aware of the availability of facilities of TES and prepare a disaster mitigation plan on community base considering the children, elderly and disabilities.

Abstract

Public open space is a shared space used by the community for individual or group activities. Quality public open spaces are public spaces that are able to meet needs, protect rights and give meaning to the people who visit them. Blang Padang Field is a tourist zone and public space used by visitors for recreation, sports and selling. Blang Padang as a venue for state ceremonies, religious and military activities. The condition of the physical structure and some of the facilities in it are inadequate as a public space such as a public toilet and seats. Its multi-functional use creates several problems such as parking problems and traffic jams. The method used is quantitative and qualitative using a Likert scale, with descriptive analysis. The data used were observations, questionnaires, and interviews, and data from related agencies. The quality of the Blang Padang Field Public Open Space based on the fulfillment of the needs aspect with a value of 2.97 and the quality of the rights aspect with a value of 2.99 shows a negative response because the average value is below 3, while the quality of the aspects of meaning (meanings) ) got a positive response with an average value of 3.22.
