Abstract

The output-voltage waveform of an inverter is non sinusoidal and in most applications thevoltage harmonics have a significant effect on the overall system performance. Theseharmonics may be reduced at the cost of increasing the complexity of the inverter circuit,and an economic decision must be made on the degee to which this should be done. The Twomost commonly used techniques for harmonic-reduction are presented in this paper, theseare harmonic reduction by Pulse-Width Modulation and Sinusoidal Pulse-WidthModulation.Keyword: harmonic-reduction, Pulse-Width Modulation, Sinusoidal Pulse-WidthModulation.

Abstract

Many complex physical systems are described by differential equations for which a solutioncannot be determined in analytical form. However, techniques are available to obtainapproximate solutions of such differential equations, or sets of equations, by numericalmethods. Thus the solution of differential equations is another important phase in numericalanalysis. In general, methods of numerical integration employ a step-by-step process todetermine a series of values for each dependent variable corresponding to a selected set ofvalues of the independent variable. The usual procedure is to select values of theindependent variable at fixed interval. The accuracy of a solution by numerical integrationdepends both on the method chosen and the size of interval.Keyword: step-by-step, differential equations, numerical methods

Abstract

A very important problem in the design and operation of a distribution system is thecalculation of the voltage profile within specified limits at various points in the system. Inthis text we shall develop methods by which we can calculate the voltage, current, and powerat any point in a distribution line provided we know these values at one point, usually at oneend of the line. The continued development of large, high-speed digital computers havebrought about a change in the relative importance of various techniques in the solution oflarge distribution networks. One of particular importance is the introduction of busadmittance and bus impedance matrices method which will prove to be very useful in thecalculation of the voltage profile in the distribution networks.Keywords: voltage profile, bus admittance, bus impedance, matrices

Abstract

Consumption of the electronic devices has been increase in the late of twenty years recentlyand it will cause the problem which had been unexpected before. It will cause non sinusoidalcurrent, although it is supplied by sinusoidal voltage source. This current will interfere thehigh frequent component at power system distribution grid and then it called ”harmoniccurrent”. The harmonic current can cause a lot of trouble to the consumer even powerprovider as well. High cost operation, short lifetime any equipment as the most disadvantageif the harmonic current appear on electric power distribution system. There are manymethod to reduce the harmonic distortion. Abstract

Direct current (DC) motors have a wide-speed range control compared to alternating current (AC) motors, that is why they are still widely used in industries such as paper mills, textiles, and factories whose production requires wide-speed range. This paper discusses the DC motor speed control. Sinamics DCM is used in master-slave configuration for load sharing process. Drive in the top roll work as master and drive in the bottom roll work as a slave. The load distribution in the size press rolls is very important. Base on calculation and analysis we can conclude that Sinamic DCM can control the DC motor speed by adjusting the voltage applied to the motor. Keywords: DC drive, DC motor, Sinamics DCM, Size PressMotor arus searah (direct current/dc motor) mempunyai daerah pengaturan putaran yang luas dibandingkan dengan motor arus bolak balik (alternating current/ac motor), sehingga masih banyak digunakan di industri seperti pabrik kertas, tekstil, dan pabrik yang produksinya memerlukan pengaturan putaran yang luas. Pada tulisan ini dibahas pengaturan kecepatan motor DC. Pada proses pembagian beban, Sinamics DCM bekerja dengan sistem master-slave, dimana setiap drive memiliki peranan masing-masing, drive pada top roll bekerja sebagai master dan drive pada bottom roll bekerja sebagai slave.Dari hasil perhitungan dan analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa Sinamics DCM terbukti mengatur kecepatan motor DC dengan mengatur besar tegangan yang diberikan kepada motor.  Kata kunci: DC Drive, Motor DC, Sinamics DCM, Size Press

Abstract

Abstract Currently electrification on Penyengat Island supplied by Diesel Power Plants with total capacity 285 kW to serve peak load system about 250 kW. This research aims to improve the efficiency of Fuel consumption, by means of implementing a Hybrid Power Plants on Penyengat Island. Methods used in this research is simulating and analyzing the result of optimation Hybrid Power Plants system by using Homer Software version 2.81. This software to optimize based on the lowest value of the NPC (Net Present Cost). In this research, result of the simulation and optimation by Homer Software, show that the Hybrid power plant’s most optimal to be applied on the Penyengat Island is integration between PLTB, PLTS & PLTD. In this condition, the contribution of the electricity production system of PLTS at 43%, PLTB at 41%, PLTD at 16%. With capital cost for $ 1.058.906, Operating Cost for $ 268.758 per year, Net Present Cost for $3.938.507, and Cost of energy for $ 0.249/kWh. While PLTH fuel consumption is 205.601 litres/year, saving fuel consumption of 316.499 litres/year or 60,6%/year. Abstract

This article discusses about the maximum power transfer limitation and capacitor installation to maintain voltage stability at South and Central Kalimantan 150 kV Substation, so that the voltage stability can be maintained and voltage collapse can be anticipated. Based on analysis result using power and voltages relation curve, the system is still in a reliable condition. At off-peak times, Bangkanai substation will collapse when power transfer reaches 138.079 MW, while Cempaka and Trisakti  substation can attain until they reach 175.392 MW and 171.576 MW respectively. Simulation result, using DIgSILENT software shows,  at peak load, Bangkanai, Cempaka and  Trisakti  substation  will  collapse  when  the power transfer reach 214.430 MW, 175.966 MW and 171.576 MW respectively.  When Cempaka substation reaches the maximum power transfer,  the capacitor which has 49.92 MVAR reactive power was installed and  the voltage of that substation was improved from 0.958 pu to 0.980 pu. Key Words : voltage stability, drop voltage, voltage collapse, DIgSILENT, locus of critical operation point.  ABSTRAKPenelitian ini membahas tentang pembatasan transfer daya maksimum dan pemasangan kapasitor untuk menjaga stabilitas tegangan pada GI 150 kV di Kalimantan Selatan dan Tengah sehingga stabilitas tegangan dapat dijaga dan runtuh tegangan dapat diantisipasi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis menggunakan kurva hubungan daya dan tegangan, sistem masih dalam kondisi yang handal. Di luar  waktu  beban  puncak, GI  Bangkanai  runtuh  ketika transfer daya mencapai 138,079 MW, sedangkan GI Cempaka dan GI Trisakti runtuh ketika transfer daya mencapai masing-masing  175,392 MW dan 168,572 MW. Hasil simulasi menggunakan software DIgSILENT, ketika waktu beban puncak, GI Bangkanai , GI Cempaka  dan  GI  Trisakti  masing-masing  runtuh  ketika  transfer  daya  mencapai 214,430 MW, 175,966 MW, dan 171,576 MW.  Ketika GI Cempaka mencapai transfer daya maksimumnya, dilakukan pemasangan kapasitor  yang memiliki  daya  reaktif  sebesar  49,92 MVAR. dan tegangan pada GI tersebut membaik dari 0,958 pu menjadi 0,980 pu.Kata kunci:  stabilitas tegangan, jatuh tegangan, runtuh tegangan, DIgSILENT,  titik operasi kritis.
