Abstract

Abstract. Cockroaches are one of the insects that can spread diseases such as dysentery, diarrhea, cholera, viral hepatitis. Therefore an insecticide that is safe for the environment is needed, one of which is areca seed (Areca caechu L.) which contains Polyphenols, Flavonoids, Tanins, and Alkaloids that are safe for the surrounding environment and do not leave high residues. The purpose of this study was to analyze the strength test to kill areca seed extract (Areca catechu L.) against cockroach populations. The research design used in this research is quasi experimental (Quasi Experimental), the sample in this study used 360 adult cockroaches (Periplaneta americana) measuring 3 cm. This study used the Mann-Whitney U test analysis to analyze the differences in the ability of areca seed extract (Areca catechu L.) in killing cockroach populations. The results showed that at a concentration of 100% it was more effective to kill cockroaches Periplaneta americana type because it can kill 91% of American perennial cockroaches within 24 hours. The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in concentration of areca catechu L. extract with variations of 80%, 90%, 100% where p = 0.000.

Abstract

Alternatif IPAL yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini adalah biofilter anaerob-aerob. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk merancang Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) di Tempat Praktek Mandiri Bidan (TPMB) Kelurahan Sedau Kota Singkawang. Jenis penelitan bersifat deskriptif dengan metode observasional dimana peneliti merencanakan desain unit Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) yang memenuhi standar pengolahan air limbah. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sumber air limbah yang dihasilkan berasal dari toilet/WC, ruang bersalin, ruang perawatan. Kebutuhan lahan sebesar 8,17 m2. Limbah cair yang dihasilkan sebanyak 384 liter/hari (0,27 m3/menit). Dimensi unit operasi Bak penampungan awal Panjang 1,08 m, Lebar 0,75 m ,Tinggi 1 m, Freeboard 0,2 m. Bak anaerob media biocord Panjang 1,44 m, Lebar = 0,75 m , Tinggi 1 m, Freeboard 0,2 m. Bak aerob media MBBR Panjang 1,44 m, Lebar 0,75 m, Tinggi 1 m, Freeboard 0,2 m. Bak penampungan akhir Panjang 1,08 m, Lebar 0,75 m, Tinggi 1 m, Freeboard 0,2 m, Dan untuk Bak kontrol Panjang 1,44 m, Lebar 0,75 m, Tinggi 1 m, Freeboard 0,2 m. Anggaran biaya sebesar Rp 14.630.000,00 (Empat Belas Juta Enam Ratus Tiga Puluh Ribu Rupiah). Saran TPMB membangun Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL) berdasarkan hasil penelitian, melakukan pengukuran karakteristik air limbah untuk mengetahui parameter yang ada pada limbah, melakukan pengujian penurunan kandungan limbah cair sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pengolahan untuk melihat sejauh mana keefektifan pengolahan limbah menggunakan media MBBR dan Bio-card.

Abstract

Pasar Puring belum memiliki sistem pengelolaaan sampah terpadu. Penggunaan mikroorganisme lokal (MOL) Tauge (Phaseolus Aureus) diharapkan dapat lebih mempercepat pematangan kompos. Tujuan penelitian ini menganalisis efektivitas mikroorganisme lokal (MOL) Tauge (Phaseolus Aureus) terhadap kecepatan pematangan kompos sampah organik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Sampel dalam penelitian berjumlah 30 sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata kecepatan pematangan kompos dosis 40 ml selama 16 hari, dosis 50 ml selama 15 hari, dosis 60 ml selama 13 hari, dosis 70 ml selama 13 hari dan dosis 80 ml selama 12 hari. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah ada perbedaan antara kecepatan pematangan kompos dan variasi dosis yang diberikan didapatkan nilai p value = (0,000). Saran pada penelitian ini diharapkan masyarakat dapat menerapkan penggunaan MOL Tauge sebagai bioaktivator dalam pembuatan kompos organik.

Abstract

Personal protective equipment was a tool that could protect against accident hazards. The interview results this factory, there were work accidents such as being hit by palm fruit bunches, dust and one of the workers had an accident at work on a production machine. Still, here there was no recorded accident report. PT ANI was a palm oil processing company located in Pahauman Village, Sengah Temila district. ). This study aimed to describe the knowledge and behavior of using PPE in oil palm employees at the PT ANI factory, Pahauman Village, Sengah Temila District, Landak Regency. The population in this study found 78 people, and the sample of this study was all of them. The results showed that of the 78 workers who had good knowledge were 64 workers (82.06%), who have sufficient knowledge as many as 14 workers (17.94%), and who have a supportive attitude are 67 people (85.9%) and not supporting 11 workers (14.10%). Workers' behavior regarding the use of PPE 38 workers (48.72%), and 40 workers who have negative behavior (51.28). Overall the workers have good knowledge and are supportive in the use of PPE, but most of the workers show negative behavioral sentiments.
