Abstract

The aim of this study is to describe the speaking strategies in strengthening character values at learning arabic at the independent learning’s era in Darus Salam Islamic Boarding School.This research was designed with a qualitative approach, with the type of case study. A method for collecting data by observations in teaching Arabic language, and documenting the teacher's speech act’s strategy, and interviewing the context of these teacher’s actsand is analyzed by interactive model analysis. The results of this research are, strengthening character values by the communication strategy with two strategies: A) the direct strategy with five functions, 1) the request, 2) the command, 3) the invitation, 4) The hope, 5) The advice; b) the indirect strategy has two functions, 1) The request, and 2) The command. The results of this study contribute to the teacher's communication strategy in using appropriate verbal verbs as an attempt to build students who have a moral character and become more interactive and communicative learning while teaching Arabic. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct the following research to understand moral values through the educational materials for writing skill that include moral values in them in Arabic learning. Keywords: Character Value, Independent Learning, Speaking Strategies Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan strategi bertutur dalam penguatan nilai karakter Pada pembelajaran Bahasa Arab di Pondok Pesantren Darus Salam Jombang di era Merdeka Belajar. Penelitian ini dirancang dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan jenis studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data dengan observasi pembelajaran bahasa Arab, dan mendokumentasikan strategi tindak tuturnya, dan mewawancarai kontekstersebut dan Kemudian dianalisis dengan analisis model interaktif. Hasil penelitian ini adalah, penguatan nilai karakter melalui strategi bertutur dengan dua strategi: A) strategi langsung dengan enam fungsi, 1) permintaan, 2) perintah, 3) ajakan, 4) Harapan, 5 ) Nasihat; b) strategi tidak langsung memiliki dua fungsi, 1) Permintaan, 2) Perintah. Hasil penelitian ini berkontribusi pada strategi bertutur guru dalam menggunakan tindak tutur yang tepat sebagai upaya untuk membentuk siswa yang memiliki nilai karakter dan menjadi pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan komunikatif. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian berikut untuk memahami nilai-nilai karakter melalui materi pendidikan keterampilan menulis yang memuat nilai-nilai karakter di dalamnya pembelajaran bahasa Arab. Abstract

Character education is internalized in learning by focusing on character values so it helps students to understand and carry out social life. This study oriented to describe the inter­nalization of character values through the teacher's directive speech in learning Arabic. This research used a qualitative case study approach. The data were collected by using the observation method and documenting it with a handycam and analyzing the context. The results of this study indicated the internalization of character valuesthrough teacher directive speech acts with six functions: 1) Asking by internalizing the value of curiosity; 2) Ordering to internalize the value of tolerance and independence; 3) Hoping by internalizing the value of hard work; 4) Inviting to internalize religious values; 5) Advising to internalize the value of appreciating achievement; and 6) Forbidding to internalize creative values. The results of this study contribute to Arabic teachers to communicate the internalization of character values in Arabic learning.

Abstract

Abstrak—the primary motivation behind this research stems from the deficiency observed in students' speaking skills. There exists a subset of students who experience fear and embarrassment during the learning process due to their perceived inadequacy in speaking skills. This lack of communication proficiency results in diminished student engagement within the learning journey. Consequently, the researcher intends to address the following inquiries 1. Strategies for enhancing the proficiency of class XII students' "maharah kalam" (speaking skills) at MA Hasyim Asy'ari (MAHASY) , Jogoroto, Jombang.2. Implementing the question and answer technique in the context of twelfth-grade students at MA Hasyim Asy'ari, Jogoroto, Jombang..3. Evaluation of the advantages and drawbacks associated with employing the question and answer method for class XII students at MA Hasyim Asy'ari, Jogoroto, Jombang.The research adopts a qualitative approach, involving participation from students at MA Hasyim Asy'ari, located in Jogoroto, Jombang, along with Arabic teachers and school principals. Data collection methods encompass interviews, observations, and documentation. Data credibility is reinforced through triangulation, while the data analysis process encompasses data collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawingThe findings of this study underscore endeavors aimed at enriching Arabic language speaking skills through techniques such as the question and answer method and public speaking exercises. Barriers to improving Maharah Kalam include the absence of LCD screens for enriching Arabic vocabulary through multimedia, as well as a lack of student self-assurance. Solutions involve implementing the question and answer method and organizing extracurricular activities to enhance Arabic language lessons. The outcomes of employing the question and answer method indicate progress in developing and amplifying language skills, expanding vocabulary, and fostering a greater affinity for the Arabic language.
