Abstract

Malnutrition among children under 5 years old has a large impact on cognitive abilities and the risk of degenerative diseases in adulthood. The research aims to know the risk factors of stunting among children 3-5 years old who have intervention in previous research (nutritional supplementation and psychosocial stimulation since age 6–9 months old for 6 months in Tanah Datar District. This research used case control method with 70 samples (35 case: 35 control) taken by total sampling and was analyzed with univariate, bivariate, and multivariate. The result showed that stunting baby based on baby’s birth length was higher in the case group than control group (60% & 34.29% respectively). Good psychosocial stimulation was higher in the control group. Knowledge of nutrition, feeding parenting, health care parenting, cognitive parenting, and exclusive breastfeeding were almost the same in both groups. Likewise with food intake (energy, carbohydrate, fat, protein), except for intake zink, it was higher in the control group than case group. Multivariate analysis showed that psychosocial stimulation parenting influenced the incidence of stunting (p = 0.05) after controlled by baby’s birth length, the age of the children weaned, and Zink intake. It is hoped that parents will carry out good psychosocial parenting, such as the psychosocial stimulation practice who called of manjujai as early as possible in children.

Abstract

Obesitas merupakan keadaan kelebihan lemak tubuh yang abnormal. Obesitas yang terjadi pada masa remaja meningkatkan risiko obesitas saat dewasa dan menimbulkan beberapa masalah kesehatan.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor dominan kejadian obesitas pada siswa SLTA di Kecamatan Tanah Abang Jakarta Pusat. Desain penelitian adalah cross sectional, pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode systematic random sampling, dan total sampel sebanyak 128 responden. Analisis data meliputi analisis univariat, bivariat, dan multivariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi obesitas sebesar 33,6%denganrata-rata nilai z-scoresebesar1,37.Hasilpenelitianmenunjukkanada perbedaan rata-rata nilai z-score diantara keempat kategori riwayat genetik (p value = 0,0001). Ada hubungan yang signifikanantaraobesitasberdasarkannilai z-scoredengandurasitidur (p value = 0,0001, r = -0,328),  sedentary behavior (0,007, r = 0,238), danasupanmakanan: lemak (p value = 0,0001, r =0,425), protein (p value = 0,001, r =0,294), karbohidrat (p value = 0,0001, r =0,418), energi (p value = 0,0001, r =0,568). Faktor yang paling dominan mempengaruhi nilai z-score adalah memiliki ibu obesitas. Pada responden yang memiliki ibu obesitas, nilai z-score lebih tinggi sebesar 0,618 dibandingkan dengan responden yang tidak memiliki kedua orang tua obesitas.Anak sekolah yang memiliki kedua orang tua atau salah satu orang tua yang obesitas sebaiknya mulai menjaga pola makan dan gaya hidup yang lebih baik dan sehat karena mereka mempunyai kerentanan secara genetik untuk menjadi obesitas. Kata Kunci : Obesitas; Remaja;Genetik;Asupan; Sedentary Behavior Association Genetic History,Nutrients Intake,and Sedentary Behavior withObesity in High School Students in Tanah Abang sub-District Central Jakarta  ABSTRACT Obesity is a condition of  abnormal excess body fat. Obesity in adolescence will increase the incidence of adult obesity  and it could cause some health issues. This study aims to find the dominant factor of obesity in High School  students in Sub-District Tanah Abang Central Jakarta. The study design used is cross sectional, samples achieved by using the systematic random sampling with 128 students as total samples. Analysis of data includes univarate, bivariate, and multivariate analysis (multiple linear regression). The results showed that the prevalence of obesity was 33.6% with average of z-score was 1.37.The results also showed that there were differences in the average of z-score between the four categories of genetic history (p value = 0,0001). There was a significant relationship between obesity based on the value of  z-score with sleep duration (p value = 0,0001, r = -0,328), sedentary behavior (0,007, r = 0,238), and nutrients intake: fat (p value = 0,0001, r = 0,425), protein (p value = 0,001, r = 0,294), carbohydrate (p value = 0,0001, r = 0,418), energy (p value = 0,0001, r = 0,568). The most dominant factor affecting the obesity is having obese mothers. The z score of respondents who have obese mothers is 0.618 higher than those who do not have obese parents. High School students who have both parents or one of the obese parents should begin to maintain a better and healthier diet and lifestyle because they have a genetic susceptibility to obesity. Keywords : Obesity;Adolescent ;Genetic; Nutrients Intake; SedentaryBehavior

Abstract

Selain faktor ekonomi, tingkat pengetahuan dan kesadaran orang tua akan pentingnya pemenuhan gizi bagi anak merupakan faktor utama yang menyebabkan tingginya angka stunting di Indonesia. Pengetahuan dan kesadaran ini tidaklah tumbuh dengan serta merta, hal ini harus terus dipupuk dan ditanamkan sejak dini, yaitu pada usia remaja. Remaja berpeluang besar untuk memutus siklus stunting, karena remaja adalah calon orang tua yang akan melahirkan generasi penerus. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan sikap remaja terhadap stunting. Metode yang digunakan adalah melakukan edukasi dengan menggunakan media aplikasi android dan buku saku stunting. Kegiatan dilakukan di Sekolah Menengah Putri Yayasan Waqaf Ar-Risalah dan Panti Asuhan Aisyiyah Koto Tangah di Kota Padang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa pretest tentang stunting, sosialisasi aplikasi android dan buku saku remaja stunting sebagai media edukasi, dan melakukan posttest sebagai bentuk evaluasi keberhasilan kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan berupa peningkatan pengetahuan sebanyak 4,3 poin dan peningkatan sikap sebanyak 5,3 poin pada kelompok yang menggunakan media buku saku. Sedangkan pada kelompok yang menggunakan media edukasi berupa aplikasi android terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan sebanyak 3,4 poin dan sikap sebanyak 6 poin. Kesimpulan: media yang digunakan, baik buku saku maupun aplikasi android mampu melakukan perubahan terhadap skor pengetahuan dan sikap remaja terhadap stunting. Kata Kunci: Pengetahuan dan sikap, remaja, stunting, aplikasi android, buku saku ABSTRACT Beside economic factors, the level of knowledge and awareness of parents about the importance of nutrition for children is the main factor that causes the high stunting prevalence in Indonesia. This knowledge and awareness does not grow immediately, it must continue to be nurtured and instilled from adolescents. Adolescents have a great opportunity to break the stunting cycle, because they are prospective parents who will give birth to the next generation. The purpose of this activity is to increase the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents towards stunting. The method used is to provide education using android application media and pocket book. The activity was carried out at Sekolah Menengah Putri Yayasan Waqaf Ar-Risalah and Panti Asuhan Aisyiyah Koto Tangah in Padang City. Implementation of activities in the form of pre-tests on stunting, socialization of android applications and pocket books as educational media, and conducting post-tests as a form of evaluating the success of activities. The result of the activity is an increase in knowledge by 4.3 points and an increase in attitude by 5.3 points in the group using pocket book media. Meanwhile, in the group using educational media in the form of an android application, there was an increase in knowledge by 3.4 points and attitude by 6 points. Conclusion: the media used, both pocket books and android applications, are able to make changes to the knowledge scores and attitudes of adolescents towards stunting. Abstract

Masih rendahnya pengetahuan siswa SMP tentang pentingnya membaca label pangan dan jajanan sehat bergizi merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi status gizi. Rendahnya pengetahuan siswa tentang label pangan akan berdampak terhadap konsumsi makanan jajanan yang tidak aman dan sehat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa SMP melalui edukasi mengenai pentingnya membaca label kemasan pangan dan perlindungan konsumen terhadap makanan dan minuman kemasan. Kegiatan dilakukan pada salah satu SMP di Kecamatan Bayang, Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan, pada Bulan Juni Tahun 2022. Kegiatan berupa penyuluhan tentang pentingnya membaca label kemasan dan perlindungan konsumen dengan 2 (dua) orang narasumber. Untuk menilai keberhasilan edukasi ini dilakukan pengamatan langsung terhadap suasana diskusi kelas dan digunakan kuesioner berupa pertanyaan tertutup yang akan diberikan kepada siswa sebelum dan sesudah edukasi. Sebanyak 30 orang siswa SMP mengikuti kegiatan ini yang terdiri dari siswa kelas 7 dan 8. Para peserta antusias memberikan pertanyaan dan ketika diberikan pertanyaan siswa mampu menjawab dengan benar. Hasil kegiatan edukasi ini menggunakan uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan ada peningkatan pengetahuan siswa SMP sebesar 2.3 (p=0,006). Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berhasil dilakukan dengan baik. Hasil monitoring dan evaluasi setelah diberikan edukasi diperoleh bahwa siswa lebih teliti dan membaca label kemasan terlebih dahulu sebelum membeli jajanan makanan kemasan. Implikasi dari kegiatan ini yaitu siswa sudah mulai menerapkan membaca label sebelum belanja makanan kemasan.The common knowledge of junior high school students about the importance of reading food labels and nutritious, healthy snacks is one-factor affecting nutritional status. The low knowledge of students about food labels will have an impact on the consumption of snacks that are not safe and healthy. This aim is to increase the knowledge of junior high school students through education about the importance of reading food packaging labels and consumer protection for packaged food and beverages. The activity was carried out at one of the junior high schools in Bayang District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, in June 2022. The activity involved counselling about the importance of reading packaging labels and consumer protection with 2 (two) resource persons. To assess the success of this education, direct observation of the class discussion atmosphere was used, and a questionnaire was given to students before and after education. A total of 30 junior high school students participated in this activity, consisting of students in grades 7 and 8. The participants were enthusiastic about asking questions, and when given questions, the students could answer correctly. The results of this activity showed that there was an increase in the knowledge of junior high school students by 2.3 (p=0.006). Community service activities were carried out successfully. The monitoring and evaluation results after being given education showed that students were more careful and read the packaging labels before buying packaged snacks.

Abstract

Background: Osteoporosis is one of the degenerative diseases in the elderly which is still a priority health problem in Indonesia. There are several precautions that can be taken to prevent the occurrence of osteoporosis, one of that is vitamin D. Vitamin D can be obtained through exposure to Ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun and from nutritional sources of food. Vitamin D can slow down the process of osteoporosis, because vitamin D is able to maintain bone health by increasing the absorption of the mineral calcium. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to see the comparison of vitamin D intake and UV exposure in pre and postmenopausal women during the pandemic.Methods: This research was an analytic study conducted with a cross sectional research design, which compares predictor variables and outcome variables that are viewed simultaneously. The study was conducted on women aged 35-65 years at the Elderly Posyandu, Padang City. Then the results of the data obtained will be analyzed using the Anova test.Results: The results showed that the percentage of menopausal respondents exposed to UV light was higher (87.5%) compared to those who were not exposed to UV light (12.5%). Then the percentage of menopausal respondents based on the consumption of Vit D < RDA was higher (52.5%) than the consumption of Vit D > RDA (47.5%).Conclusions: There was no significant difference (p<0.05) between the incidence of menopause and levels of vitamin D intake (p=0.381) and UV light exposure (p=0.462) in the elderly at the Posyandu Lansia, Padang City

Abstract

Background: One of the main health problems faced by low to middle-income countries, including Indonesia is the problem of undernutrition in toddlers. According to the 2021 Indonesia Nutritional Status Survey, undernutrition problems still occur in many Indonesian toddlers with a prevalence of 17%. The occurrence of undernutrition in toddlers is influenced by various factors including income, infectious diseases, and diet. Objectives: This research aims to identify the main contributors to undernutrition in toddlers. Methods: Data on factors related to the nutritional status of toddlers in the working area of Seberang Padang Health Center were collected using a cross-sectional design. Sampling was carried out using simple random sampling method in order to obtain a sample of 136 toddlers aged 2-5 years. The nutritional status of children was collected through direct measurement of weight and height, and use a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. Results: The percentage of toddlers aged 2-5 years with an undernutrition status is 7.2% and of under-fives who are malnourished with stunting conditions is 2.2%. Families with low incomes experienced had more risk to have children with undernutrition status than families with high incomes (p=0.017; POR=6.463; CI=1.402-29.799). Also, undernutrition was significantly associated with poor diet (p=0.036; POR=5.997; CI=1.127-26.153) and a history of infectious disease (p=0.027; POR=5.650; CI=1.212-26.153). Conclusions: Family income, diet, and history of infectious disease are determinants of undernutrition among children under five. Education on balanced nutrition and a healthy and clean lifestyle must continue to be delivered on a regular basis through the collaboration of health institutions and health education institutions in order to overcome undernutrition and reduce the risk of infection among children under five.

Abstract

Osteoporosis merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif pada lansia yang masih menjadi masalah kesehatan prioritas di Indonesia. Terdapat beberapa pencegahan yang dapat dilakukan untuk mencegah kejadian osteoporosis, salah satunya adalah asupan mineral seperti kalsium, fosfor dan magnesium serta paparan sinar Ultraviolet (UV). Asupan mineral yang cukup dapat memperlambat proses terjadinya osteoporosis, karena mampu memelihara kesehatan tulang. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk melihat bagaimana perbandingan asupan mineral kalsium, asupan mineral fosfor, asupan mineral magnesium dan keterpaparan sinar Ultraviolet pada wanita pre dan postmenopause pada masa pandemi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analitik yang dilakukan dengan disain penelitian cross sectional, dimana membandingkan variabel prediktor dan variabel outcome yang dilihat secara bersamaan. Penelitian dilakukan pada wanita usia 35-65 tahun di Posyandu Lansia Kota Padang. Kemudian hasil data yang didapatkan akan dilakukan analisis hubungan dengan menggunakan uji Anova. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa persentase responden menopause terpapar sinar UV lebih tinggi (87.5%) dibandingkan dengan yang tidak terpapar sinar UV (12.5%). Kemudian pada persentase responden menopause berdasarkan konsumsi kalsium AKG lebih tinggi (72.5%) dibandingkan konsumsi kalsium AKG (27.5%). Terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p0,05) antara kejadian menopause dengan kadar asupan kalsium (p=0,005) dan paparan sinar UV (p=0,462) pada lansia di Posyandu Lansia Kota Padang.

Abstract

One of the nutritional problems faced today is stunting, a condition in which a child's growth is restricted due to a lack of adequate dietary intake. Providing nutrition education to mothers of toddlers with stunted children is crucial in overcoming this problem. This activity aims to increase mothers' nutritional knowledge of toddlers with stunted children in Nanggalo District, Padang City. The method used education through counselling and local food recipe books. The target group of this activity was 22 mothers of stunted toddlers. The results of this activity were effective in enhancing mothers' understanding and awareness of the importance of balanced nutrition for children. These results can be seen from the answers given by stunted toddler mothers, who initially did not know but became aware, with correct answers reaching 90% after the counselling sessions. The counselling methods allow mothers to understand more deeply the concept of nutrition and the nutritional needs of children. Food recipe books are a source of information that mothers can access again at home, providing practical guidance in choosing and preparing healthy foods quickly and affordably. With a holistic approach through counselling and food recipe books, it is hoped that mothers with toddlers can have better nutrition knowledge, implement changes in family eating patterns, and ultimately help overcome the problem of stunting in their children.
