Abstract

Al-Si alloy is one of the alloys that are widely used in the industry because it has a good cast and good strength. To increase its mechanical strength Cu alloy can be added which can be covered. Al-10Si-Cu alloy is one of the alloys commonly used in industry, especially the automotive industry because it has excellent mechanical strength. This research is focused on looking at the effect of artificial aging on T6 heat treatment to increase the hardness of Al-10Si-3Cu alloy results from casting. Dilution behavior was carried out at a temperature of 520 oC for 2 hours then quenched in water and then performed artificial aging carried out at 130oC with aging time varying from 5 minutes to 120 hours. Material characterization carried out hardness testing, tensile test, microstructure observation with an optical microscope. The highest hardness was obtained with an 80 hour holding time of 86.05 BHN where CuAl2 precipitates underwent optimum conditions. The most upper tensile strength was collected at 80 hours holding time, namely 335.063 MPa with strain value 1.133%. A low strain value indicates that this condition has begun to overgrow, so embryo has started to occur. Abstract

This activity aims to improve the quality of drinking water with a reverse osmosis system that is water filtration treatment to neutralize the taste, odor and hazardous substances contained in water up to 0,0001 microns. One obstacle faced by Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School, Timbuseng Village, Pattalassang Subdistrict, Gowa Regency is very dependent on traditional management and the use of gallon water supply services, so that it requires a lot of energy and a long time and high costs if provided by buying gallon water . With Community Service Activities this reverse osmosis assistance is expected to be an alternative supply of drinking water that is suitable for consumption so that staff / students can avoid the risk of disease and make time and money spent to buy gallon water efficient.

Abstract

The level of the spread of covid-19 in Indonesia continues to increase, the number of people who have been confirmed positive for Covid-19 is 55,092 people with a death toll of 2,805. South Sulawesi is in the third rank of a province with a high level of spread with a positive confirmed number of Covid-19 of 4,995 people and a death toll of 164 people (data as of 29 June 2020). To reduce the high spread in South Sulawesi province, various preventive measures have been taken. One of the most effective preventive measures is to always wash your hands with soap. Soap has been shown to effectively damage the outer protein layer of Covid-19 and in the end can kill the virus. In this community service, the aim is to provide portable sink equipment assistance and at the same time to socialize the prevention of the spread of Covid-19 through banners at Islamic boarding schools, puskesmas and schools in the Gowa district area. This activity will be carried out as an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Islamic boarding schools, schools and health centers in entering the current “new normal” period.

Abstract

One of the efforts to prevent the transmission of Covid 19 is washing hands. Washing hands is one of the sanitation efforts by cleaning hands and fingers using water and soap or handrub by humans to be clean and break the chain of germs. Hands are often the agents that carry germs and cause pathogens to pass from one person to another, either by direct contact or indirect contact. Therefore, seeing the urgency of washing hands in an effort to prevent the transmission of Covid 19, we provide assistance to implement hand washing in public facilities where contact between humans often occurs. The service was carried out on October 3, 2020 at the Balang-Balang market, Borong Loe Village, Bonto Marannu District, Gowa Regency. The head of the Borong loe village received hand washing machine assistance. In addition to hand washing machine assistance, information is also displayed regarding proper hand washing steps and information about the spread of covid 19

Abstract

Solar energy is a renewable and environmentally friendly energy that can be utilized in various fields. Solar energy can be used to increase production in the agricultural sector by introducing smart and efficient technological interventions with cheap energy sources. One of the problems faced by farmers is the provision of crop irrigation and watering which requires a lot of labor or high electricity costs. With a solar-based irrigation pump with an automation system, it is expected to reduce the need for labor and electricity costs. The method of service is by conducting training on the implementation of solar water pumps for agricultural irrigation systems for HKTI-Gowa Youth. The training was continued by demonstration of the use and working system of a solar water pump machine for an agricultural irrigation system using an automation system based on a timer. This service provides additional knowledge about the use of solar power for agricultural irrigation systems, so that it can be more efficient and effective with this cheap and environmentally friendly energy source. This activity was highly appreciated by the training participants in this service.

Abstract

Laboratorium Komputer masih bersifat biasa seperti kebanyakan Laboratorium pada umumnya, hanya digunakan untuk Praktik Saja tidak ada inovasi pengembangan yang lebih dari pada sekedar Lab, untuk itu penulis membangun Sistem Informasi dan Manajemen Laboratorium komputer (SIMALAB-KOM), agar Laboratorium tidak hanya berfungsi untuk Praktik saja tapi banyak fungsi seperti : pendataan barang inventaris dan penjadwalan maintenance barang invetaris, pencatatan peminjaman, penjadwalan praktik, absensi, dan sebagai tambahan dari SIMALAB-KOM ada ujian offline, sharing file, file tugas siswa. Sehingga bukti pemakaian laboratorium dan aktivitas di laboratorium itu benar-benar ada dan terjadi dengan mengakses SIMALAB-KOM.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk penyuluhan pentingnya perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat dalam upaya pencegahan penyakit degeneratif pada remaja. Hasil dari kegiatan ini bagi Para remaja hendaknya lebih aktif dalam mencari informasi tentang kesehatan melalui media lain selain penyuluhan dan leaflet (media cetak), baik dari media cetak yang lain seperti koran, tabloid, majalah maupun media elektronik lainnya seperti televisi dan radio. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat berjalan dalam kehidupan sehari hari masyarakat secara kontinyu.

Abstract

Abstract

Aluminum matrix composite reinforced CNT have been developed to improve the mechanical properties of aluminum. In this study, the melting of Aluminum 1100 reinforced Carbon Nanotube (1 wt.% CNT) with variations in the addition of Magnesium powder was carried out by the slurry-based method. The casting of the specimens is carried out using a metal mold. CNT powder was first mixed with magnesium powder at 60°C. Then the aluminum is melted to a temperature of 700°C until it melts, then the temperature is lowered to 500°C or the texture has changed to be like mush (slurry based) and then mixed with CNT powder and Magnesium powder are added. After that the alloy was raised again at 720°C for 30 minutes and the stirring process was carried out, after that it was poured into a metal mold with a mold temperature of around 400°C. The samples were then analyzed for mechanical properties and microstructure observations.  The results of the Vickers hardness test before the addition of Mg powder and CNT were 36.7 HV. While after the variation of adding 1wt.% Mg powder, the hardness of the specimen increased to 44.5 HV, the variation of adding 3% Mg powder was 45.3 HV, and the variation of adding 5% Mg powder reached a hardness value of 46 HV. The tensile test results on 3% Mg powder is 241.6 MPa. The wear test results show the wear rate value for the 1% Mg variation of 0.146 mg/s, the 3% Mg variation of 0.106 mg/s, and the 5% Mg variation with a wear rate value of 0.093 mg/s. The α-Al phase is the dominant phase formed, where the grain size and grain boundaries in the 3% Mg variation have a relatively small size and the spread of CNT is evenly distributed in the alloy, so the addition of Mg to the alloy can help spread CNT in Aluminum alloys.

Abstract

The manufacture of Al/SiC alloy matrix composites has been widely carried out by researchers through powder metallurgy techniques. Bushings are slit cylindrical type bearings that serve to support the shaft. Bushings can be made by powder metallurgy, to get the perfect compaction process, compaction can be done by high temperature or Hot Pressing. A hot press will make the powder softer/plastic, making it easier during the perfect compaction process. For this reason, heating must be controlled in order to obtain a homogeneous product. Al/SiC metal matrix composites are alloyed materials of different types of materials, as matrices in this case are aluminum and as reinforcement are SiC particles (ceramics) made by powder metallurgy techniques. In this study, the Al/SiC composite composed of 70% Al - 30% SiC and Hot Pressing temperature variations of 100, 150 and 200°C with a pressure of 5000 kg and a holding time of 10 minutes. In the sintering process, the temperature used is 450, 500 and 550°C with a holding time of 2 hours. The results of this study show, in hardness testing it is known that the value of bushing hardness increases as the temperature of Hot Pressing increases.
